As Jean Bob pointed out in the comments I was wrong with ignites damage stacking up after the first tick of ignite. Pay no attention to the understanding ignite part as I obviously don't understand it well enough myself. I apologize for misinforming you guys but it is important to realize that this is only my take on it and I'm glad that someone pointed my bullshit out. I stand with every other part of the video though and I do believe it's useful information.

I don't know what's so confusing with ignite. It's pretty simple. You crit a 10,000 fireball, it rolls a 4,000 dot in 2 intervals, so 2,000 + 2,000. If first one ticks and then you land another 10,000 fireball the remaining 2,000 tick is added to the next ignite, giving you an 6,000 ignite. If you crit before the first tick then the new ignite will be 8,000.

Hi, Good guide, Just a point about the potion you are using, to my point of view speed potion almost ever beat the wild magic potion And another point about evocation : on LoD if you are using well your mana regeneration tools. I mean your 3 mana gems and a mana injector instead of a "dps" potion such as speed. You actually gain dps by delaying the moment you need to evocate to the moment you entering the FM chamber About playing at long range it is a good way to both : 1/ avoid your teammates by putting harmfull aoe on the area you are playing 2/ maximize your LB uptime by being able to refresh it and throw your pyro before your FB hit the boss and potentialy proc a new hotstreak Tiny

@@Kruzics Yeah if the group is not really strong (in terms of dps) it's hard to reach FM chamber w/o evocate w/o being in the grp5 ^^ I just wanted to pointing out the missunderstood powerness of the mana injectors, lot of people feel that because they are dps they must have to go for speed or wild magic, even if at the end it whould have stronger to got more mana back and do not have to evocate. About speed potion, if you do quick and dirty maths, you will got that using speed potion approximatly give you between 0.6 and 1 more FB cast out of the 15sec of the potion. For wild magic potion it give you 200 crit (4.35%) and 200 spell power : you will cast between 5 and 7 FB in 15sec, 1 LB and between 1 and 4 Pyro, let take the best world where you got 5 FB +4 Pyro +1 LB FB spell coef under empowered fire : 115% Pyro : 130% LB : 20% per tick (you will have 5 ticks approximatly) LB : explosion : 42.86% So you have : 5*115%*200 + 4*130%*200 + 5*20%*200 + 42.86%*200 It's equal to 2 475.72 additionnal damage, even if we count that damage as crit (2475.72*150% = 3713.58) and with ignite (100%+40%)*3713.58 = 5 199.012 This is still lower than 0.6* a non-crit FB (non-crti FB w/o proc is aroung 9k) 9*0.6 = 5.4K and this is on the worst case scenario you can be and it mean you are not even synchronising your potion with your procs/images ^^ Sorry fot the long comment but i was in your spot before and a friend of mine was in my current shoes and before he actually prove me wrong, i didn't believed him that speed > wild magic. (I saw some of you other video i enjoyed it ! even if idk where i am standing between painfull elitist ass and dum skada psyco xD)

I struggle to understand your take on Ignite Stacking high ignite damage does not increase your overall ignite damage; it's just funnier, fancier. Ignite rolling has been fixed for quite some time on Warmane. You can see ignite as a bank of damage for each target. When you crit, you add 0.4*crit_dmg to the bank, and for first ignite tick you divide bank by two, second ignite tick you deplete completely the damage bank (since the debuff disappears). With this rule it's pretty easy to code it in a weakaura and you see that there's no ignite bug. Looking at the example you are giving at 9:52: - Your first scorch deals 3990 critical damage and Ignite ticks for 798*2 = 1596. 1596/3990 = 0.4. - On the second test you do 2 crit scorches dealing 4588 and 4514 damage. Ignite deals 1819*2 = 3638 dmg. And 3638/(4588+4514) = 0.4. Therefore there is no difference in overall damage for Ignite if you do multiple crit in a row or if you spread them in time. You can see that as: your crit deals 280% damage instead of 200%. Only way to deal something else from this 40% of crit damage, is if you deal no damage because target dies with a high damage bank. Second part of my confusion is at 10:15 If someone launch a tennis ball towards you every 1.5 second, it doesn't matter if you are 5, 20 or a 100 meters apart, you will still receive the ball every 1.5 second. (I hope you understand the comparison) So you can see that if you are 40 yards away or melee range, if you cast only fireball with 1.5 cast-time, then fireball will hit the boss every 1.5 seconds. Hence I don't understand what is your "sweet spot" for Ignite, maybe for other reasons like reacting to Hot Streak or idk but for Ignite it doesn't matter. Again, if I misunderstood, correct me but I watched this part 15 times to be sure so it might be unclear on your side. Rest of the video is nice. Any tips on Invisibility, Fire Blast, Handling threat ?

I fucked up with the video showing the ignites damage. What I meant was there are 2 ticks, try criting with your first scorch, waiting for the first tick to do off then criting again, while ignite is still on the target. The first does it's damage but the second tick still adds to the ignite's damage. That's what I meant to say but I fucked up with showing it. And yeah, I should have added handling threat in retrospect but I mostly think of everything I forgot to add after recording the audio :D

@@Kruzics I just tried what you did which is: 1 Crit Scorch, wait for 1st tick of Ignite, 2 Crit Scorch, wait for the 2 ticks of ignite and the result are: - 1st crit scorch: 5343 dmg (0.4*5343=2137 dmg added to the damage bank) - 1 ignite tick: 1068 dmg (1068 = 2137/2 = half the bank, so nothing out of the ordinary so far. Only 1068 dmg left in the bank) - 2nd crit scorch: 4840 dmg (0.4*4840=1936 dmg added to the bank. Hence we have 1936+1068 = 3004 dmg in the bank left) - 1st ignite tick: 1502 dmg (3004/2 = half of the bank. Only 1502 left in the bank) - 2nd ignite tick: 1502 dmg (1502 = all that is left in the bank) So if we look at the total, - we did 5343 + 4840 = 10183 crit damage with our scorch - we did 1502 + 1502 + 1068 = 4072 dmg with ignite And we obviously have 4072 / 10183 = 0.399 = 0.4. The Ignite damage is always 40% of the total crit damage, no matter how crit are spaced. So no I don't think it works either, you should try on a dummy aswell, try to be as precise as i was here, and that should yield same result, which is that there is no more ignite rolling on warmane.

distancing is good for getting more ticks so u regen more mana, it doesnt affect dps but it affects mana regen from talents which affects dps, also for combustion I'd say to be at max range to get the most of it before it fades from your last crit. the range talent is definitely important for dps

@@David-hs1bu the ticks from ignite will be the same whether you're close or far away as the main comment stated, the boss will still be getting fireballs every 1.5 seconds (or whatever your cast time is), so ignite will get refreshed at the same rate meaning that you'll get the same mana. Now about combustion, you could only get benefit from that if a fireball takes longer to travel than your cast time, but yeah you don't have to be that close so you can cast pyro before fireball lands.

Tbh this class is far from proper, he is whoring on shamblings with Living bombs(it may boost his dps on overall dmg which doesnt matter, but it sacrifices his dmg on useful targets which matters) and using LB's like that on valkyrs is just wrong, instead of using all of them one after another on valkyrs, if u do it like he is doing LB>FB>LB>FB>LB>FB ur Living bombs on valkyrs wont explode until they fly in the air,and if ur LB explodes while they are in the air its useless dmg so kinda pointless

Maybe a dumb question, but for a Fire Mage (future WOTLK specifically) would a Troll's 20% haste racial out parse a human's 3% Spirit/Crit increase with the Molten Armor buff? Is there a clear winner there or would the two be pretty close? I'm thinking more PVE, but still liking the benefit of human's EMFH racial when needed in PVP situations. If you track your trinket proc in an opener and pop combustion + Berserking + any on use trinket/ engi gloves at the same time then yeah its going to be huge, besides the main selling point of horde racials is the mini burst that lets you get out of difficult phases sooner, which is what harder bosses are all about. this is why on buffed content and on retail Horde became the dominant faction. in cata/mop it gets even worse.

Berserking is indeed incredibly strong and the only real dps boosting option for the Horde, unlike Alliance which is more balanced with racials since gnome and human racial do not have such noticable disparity. If you are Horde, then troll is the clear winner.

Only problem for me is - I’m kiiiiiinda… bis… but lacking crit trinket (got haste one), and have not wand - got spirit one. But i believe I can run ilvl 245 trinket with crit while right one drops, and I get lucky… same with wand. destruction doesnt provide this buff, they use incinerate not shadowbolt which is another reason why its not great in pve, Affli and Demo use SB but they stop using it at 25% and 35% respectively then you'd be the one who needs to keep scorch up.

@@MalibuMoto Lvling as a fire mage is a pain in the ass. DPSing as a fire mage whit shit gear is a pain in the ass too. Fire mages along with Fury warriors are specs that scale HARD and I mean HARD with good gear. So, to your question: Leveling- Frost Fresh 80(rdfs and maybe your first few raids depending on gear)- Arcane, you will do more dps opposed to if you were fire. When you have decent gear- fire.

Hey great video. I've had a look at your addon video already, but noticed that your Cheese addon shows you a smaller proc/aura when you have 1 crit and are 1 more crit away from a Hot Streak proc. I've downloaded your Cheese addon but it doesn't seem to show the smaller aura when I have 1 out of 2 crits away from a Hot Streak proc. Would be able to explain how you have that extra smaller aura? Hey, know it is a bit late with the reply. Gnome provides 0.4% more crit than Human with bis gear and more mana (does not matter for fire since we have no mana issues). It is a minimal difference unlike berserking for horde, so you can play human if you prefer it over gnome like me.

Spellpower is better for 90% of the expansion and cases, once you reach ICC level gear then haste is about on the same level as spellpower

Ap is basically ranged feral or feral is basically melee sp. Just play the rota decently and learn that first. After that the most important thing is a good overview of trinkets ect for big snapshot. Maybe rog tricks if you parse( which wont work that well on warmane i guess without any logs).

You have some downtime in between casts (not the gcd after instant I mean when you just spam firebolts.) Consider using firebolts on mouse wheel. Spamming a key is inferior

There’s a threshold at the end of the cast that will put whatever spell you hit in Que to be cast next. Spamming faster wont change anything.

There is for Naxx if I'm not mistaken, but not really in 3.3.5. Everybody just gathers their items from the last raids and mixes and mashes :D
