I only had enough vis to pity for Oldoa so she is who I opted for but got her on the last step of my first round of the 4 step so figured I'd try my luck on Jeume, got Jeume on the first pull of my second round of 4 step so I've probably used all the available luck I had for the forseeable but I'm very happy! I'm enjoying this type of power creep over having to get another 200 shards or something, or even worse the new VC's that are absolutely no fun to pull and build.

Probably the best way to go, getting the WoTC units off banner is not easy or cheap.

Great video JB! I am hoping this is not the new standard, honestly. I feel like gumi could be just creating 2 new meta drivers just like alaya and helena were, in a way to drive the metagame to colder elements that were usually less present in general. Dark/Light have always been meta drivers excluded from the elemental game, always used, constantly receiving powerful meta drivers. Lightning/Wind have been historically super usable and flexible, in big part due to their strong carrys, vcs and great supporting cast. But their meta drivers have definitely been Alaya and Glaciela (which got boosts that keep her being usable even nowadays with great pairs like veritas). Earth definitely had bradley, but i feel like it was always more used as an element to counter lightning and always having a tough time contesting any of wind most used comps. Water always had super strong units but lightning power always made it tough on them to be in the top spotlight. Gumi might be trying to create super-powered anchors with mont and jeume so that these elements can stay on top of the game, just like they did with a2 and ice. While also solidifying the knight and greatsword genres as powerhouses against the super pushed black mage game. Hopefully this is what it is. Id be saddened if everything going forward came with stats as massive as these, they'd need to revamp jobs again for older units to be remotely viable if that was the case. I also feel like they made sure that these units don't have massive map/terrain dominance, giving them only 1 height range atks and nothing as oppressive range/height wise like alaya and helena had. Which, together with their missile weakness, reinforces the idea that they are crafting a way for missile units to come back into the auto game by making these units popular enough.

Great thoughts here - it's certainly up in the air you make some good arguments. I think personally it is here to stay though, this has vibes to be of like Garval/Elsirelle dumpstering many of the year 1 units right before we hit big creep with EX120, I think we're going to have a big system change at the actual 4.5 anni in JP that we should be seeing very soon - perhaps centered around innate stats. I think with that system we may have a way to pump up the old units to help them compete - at least I'm hoping.

Having faced her several times in arena already, she's a problem to go up against. She's just really, really good. Problem for me is that I'm well on my way to pitying Oldoa at this point, so I would need to get lucky with her. Another thought with all this missile weakness coming in. What if they did an FF XII collab soon and made an absolutely busted Balthier? He could potentially be a meta breaker if done correctly, and we REALLY need a nice missile unit at this point with all the other types getting love.

Our pull sessions were near identical. I got Jeueme for 10k. Went FULL pity on Oldoa. Nothing sucks more than having to use 40k visiore worth of medals just to get the unit and cant get any shards.

JB hello!!. I need your expert advice one more time please. Have almost all the non-limited greatsword VCs at max level and got new Jeume so, can make a good greatsword team!!. Now between the 100 costs options: dark Sterne, wind Jeume or Hyot, which you think is better greatsword support for new Jeume?. Taking into consideration for each the elements and the kit is hard to choose one. Will use the current 2000 paid select 120lv banner to pull for one of them... And need your help please!! :D

Damn, I can't recommend either Dark Sterne for 2k paid, they're both incredibly power crept. I don't believe Wind Jeume is on that banner either since she is a Warrior of the Crystal and not standard pool. If you're dead set on a greatsword unit I think Bronwell is the best one from the perma pool. I think though that Young Oelde or Ice Howlet are probably better 100 cost units overall and nice partners for Jeume.

Wow. That stat line is amazing! I pulled her and having faced her in Arena a bunch, she does have the same weakness that all the top dps units seem to have... barriers. I think people will be disappointed in her dmg in battle. But her utility easily makes up for it.

I've been quite happy with the damage - similar if not better than A2, I am bringing Astrius or Oelde in arena though for barrier break duty.

Many thanks JB!!, to be honest I thought that you would recommend me Hyot jeje, but I looked up Bronwell and for a 70 cost I was very surprised!!. Have some tanking, some self sustaining and some damage with different type of attacks... a good support for new Jeume!!, she even have one multi hit. Just no sure hits so needs Alexander ring for sure but, for a 70 cost is very good!!. And why Bronwell is better support for new Jeume than Hyot?. Again many thanks for your expertise and recommendations, trying to be a better player here!! Jejeje :D

I just think in general her kit is a bit stronger with her focus on DEF Penetration debuff, Jeume has a very high Defense she can get with her self buff and maximillian armor, so its helpful for her survivability. Bronwell also has a strong AOE barrier break. Bronwell has the cost advantage to run in limited guild battle and class match over Hyoh also. Lastly, since Jeume is so strong, you will see many on the battlefield, making it difficult to use Hyoh right now with his water weakness.

@@JB79 so MANY thanks for your great recommendation. Got Bronwell and she is so great!!!, she was an immediate add to my Jeume team. Again many thanks!! :D Now will need to decide if I keep the greatsword focus until the 5th anniversary power increase, or go to Katanas and stick to that one.... That looks like is the future... Got some VCs for both classes, even a couple have both greatswords and katana so, no matter what I decide there is good synergy with Jeume so... I just need to decide: Cloud or Seph?? .... Is a tough one... I need to see Seph full kit (besides the broken curse) but of course will be, at least, Cloud level most likely so... Need to decide: greatswords or katanas??, to keep the VCs focus on with the ones that are currently coming out..

As always great review JB!!, its looks like a very interesting unit But can you please help me??... Im just undecided, i have only to invest in 1 unit to max it properly right now, but im still not sure if Jeume is the answer. I started in the game with the Seph hype (my current main DPS, along with Bartz, both almost max reincarnated), currently a dark/light slasher player with potential migration to water/wind pierce (almost fully build glassy and young king) if i put all my resources into. Of course have a strong young Helena as almost everyone as well. VC wise outside dark and light have some but Im lacking, I try to focus also on the agility ones in general and would love to have more variety but is very-very hard (game needs to help us more with the VC builds…). My main tank is Raph max reincarnated. Others UR units build to 140 are: little leela bold (as my 2nd "tank", dont have other UR tank), dark helena, bridal alaya, sol, shalze, lemure, addison rae, Resnik. And im building water veritas. For alaya and addison have the limited VC. At the end im just always dying with the new meta, used to be close to 1000 in arena at the end of the week, now im struggling to be top 3000, and it look like Jeume might be the answer that im looking, but im not sure!!. Help JB should i go all in with Jeume and make her my main for the future?, or with my roster should i wait for a potential more suitable DPS in the near future?, especially with the anniversary going... Please help im torn here JB!! :D

I would say since you have A2, and Oelde, Jeume is a nice investment for your account since they can all work together with the Dark Odin VC. Jeume can also work with Young Helena and A2 with the Rain/Hyoh AGI Job vc 'In order to save the world' as well as the free MR raid vc 'Hollow Vessel' which gives Area resistance - so overall it seems like its a pretty nice investment for what you have currently. My general advice would be to try and keep yourself not diving into too many divergent metas since it will be very expensive to try and keep on top of that, and you will get burned out, this game is more of a slower progression, and you need to plan accordingly. Also do keep in mind that Jeume is a permanent unit, so there is still the possibility you could pull her later if things are tight at the moment.

@@JB79 So many thanks JB!!, just that i dont have A2 you misread that part, but understand because was such a long comment sorry for that!!, again so many thanks for your insight its very much welcome!. I just want to power up my account, or at least have one unit to put my focus on or "build a team around" for the year, like i did with Seph, this strategy did put me top 1000 with relative low investment last year so i kind of like it, at the end this can be a very expensive game, so i try not to go nuts. Again many thanks for your advise!!. looking forward to the next First Look!! :D

@@JB79 Honestly as a Water main who dabbles in Ice... He's kind of is a skip. The VC tie ins just arent there at all. Unless he has some equally stupid good VC that does give at least some cross over on agi or unit/area res, Im probably hanging tight until we see the next collab line up.

@@JB79 Yeah.... but... than means we have to suffer Vann.... What Im predicting is they will create a debuff that locks select unit attacks, either that or a tank or aura that focuses on them specifically.

She's so good against magic that I dont think its required, 50 is fine, but you definitely could consider it to lower ailment chances. The trade off is haste and full life chances will be lowered, if you're not using those then you should be good.
