If you have any questions I'm probably not the best person to give you solid advice but I will answer to the best of my knowledge and anything I share i've normally heard from a thai or a well established foreigner so isn't always 100% correct.

Unfortunately most think they are owed a living and would always say that's impossible and probably wouldn't succeed wherever they are in the world. Get Married as it actually protects your more there. Just go registry office do it. I had a look at the building supply business before couldnt quite get the supplies snd thai seems to want to control it. Im sure there is some niche that can be filled with a few products ti start. You will have to go to China and see what you can order in bulk and the Chinese can be tough dealing with when the flip flop. Nothing wrong with having a bunch of small businesses which turn small profits once you don’t have to be there. Recruiting a good person to manage what you do is key.

Good work Drew. I must say, however, that the first property for sale is CRAZY expensive to me... 2 million Baht is $60K USD, for 1 Rai (which is about 1/3 of an acre)... WOW. Here in the South Carolina, in the countryside, one full acre is about $10K.

Just wanted to say how refreshing it is to see a fellow Brit & younger lad like yourself just doing what you need to do to make a life over there. I wish I’d had the balls to do it myself but we went the other way & my Thai wife moved to the UK 11 years ago. Whereabouts in Isaan are you (sorry probably missed it in a vid somewhere). I hope you get to see this comment, I was reading your comment on my latest video and it disappeared not sure if its a glitch or I done something by mistake. I've got a little to into youtube this last weekish and understand I cant carry on like I have with videos daily etc, I will just start to slow it down and try and add a bit more grit to each one and of course slow down the pace. I cant fully remember the whole message but did see a part were you said I had something and over time could grow well. What is your opinion on what my type of audience wants to see? Or what topics should I be doing? I'm asking because im interested to know if its things id enjoy. Thanks for watching another video!

How many people have you met back in the UK that were able to come up with a small business idea and then develop and carry iit out? My guess would be less than 1%‽ The same pattern would apply to proportion of western expats in Thailand I would think. Interestingly enough, "communist" China family business tradition goes a long way and you can see how Chinese community prosper in Thailand.

Love the vid. So relevant to me at the moment having bought similar land by a main road. I think building a small shop should be cheaper than building a house as its less internal structures. Of course then there is the shelves fridges etc to consider.

Yeah. Quite close to rong glua. Main thought at the moment is selling the big boxes of beer. Small margins but non perishable and will definitely sell. Making sure it's built to facilitate the noodle shop thing as well. Not looking for big profits just something to do for a family member to run.

1 acre is 2.5 Rai. In rural England, Wales, Scotland, you can buy an acre of land for as little as 1000 pound or 45,000 baht for 2.5 rai For quailty farmland in UK, it averages 10,000 per acre, 4.5 million baht per acre or 2.5 rai. That first property you showed for 2 million baht for 1 Rai of non productive land would cost under 500 quid in rural England, half the cost of rural land in Thailand. And the best part is, you actually own the land if you buy it in England.

I understand were you're coming from, I not in a situation to buy that sort of land in the video, I just thought it was a interesting topic due to the land 4-5 mins away on a side street is half the price. I also wanted to show what you could do with land like that on a main road. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and watch the video!

711 are golden if you can get one in a good location. I think wah is same as square meter? Hard to make big money in Thailand. Most Thai Isan people are happy with making twenty dollars a day. I do like your mind set Drew seeing potential opportunity everywhere.

Yeah I personally wouldnt get involved with a franchise like that but I bet people do earn well! Very hard to make big money in thailand indeed! Life is a gamble, but you have to take them first steps to build on a successful business. But always make sure you do your homework first before jumping in headfirst. My philosophy is giving it a go instead of regretting not doing it later on. As for the two plots, they didn't seem to be built that well, so I don't think I would bother renovating, I would just rebuild. What I would do is knock down the price, depending on how desperate they are to sell and start from scratch

Yeah life is certainly a gamble. Yeah I feel like I've got solid foundations of success for my businesses but not 100% there yet and may never be 100% that's why apart from the village bits and small farm/ponds which will be happening probably start of next year I won't be putting any big amounts of money into anything. The cheap bits of village land could tempt me like I've said previously but spots like in this video are out of reach for me for a while. I think id personally agree with flattening it all and starting again. Thanks for the solid input appreciate it as all ways! Take it easy

seems expensive to live main rd think id rather spend less on a more quiet property and then just build a small mobile shop or similar you can park on the main rd to sell from(be cheaper surely)

Land math time. 1 rai = 4 ngan = 400 sq. wah. so, 90 sq. wah = 90/400 = 22% of one rai or 90% of 1 ngan. Boom! You can also do 1600*(90/400)=360 sq meters as one rai = 1,600 sq meters. Square root of 360 is 18.9 so that's basically 19x19 meters. Not a big piece of land but usable for a small shop.

@@lifeinisan yeah it's 2x2 meters. There's 400 sq wah per rai and one rai is 1600 sq meters so (1/400)*1600 = 4 sq meters and square root of 4 is 2 so 2x2 meters in dimensions.
