I watched the whole video on Jubilee's channel just because I saw you in the thumbnail. And it was a really good one. You were extremely well outspoken and made great points. I wish they didn't shut you down at the part where you talked about different countries. Americans can be really self-centered at times and can't see beyond their own borders. Just like you were talking about Brazil doing, many other countries follow USA's example when it comes to progress. If they stop progressing and start regressing, the other countries will too. So as someone whose country still doesn't allow gay marriage and doesn't protect the LGBTQ+ community, thank you for throwing that in there. And again, you were great!

I love your way of debating. I think expressing “in my opinion” isn’t as much being new to debating, but understanding and respecting that everyone’s opinion may differ. Stating an opinion as fact has always ticked me the wrong way. I think it’s great going into a debate with an open heart and mind, ready to learn. Rather than to crush the other team with your “facts” and “logic”. Facts and logic are great, but humans are creatures of emotion. We have to be mindful of each other’s emotions, if we wanna have a fruitful and civilized conversation.

I love that finally Julia as a British citizen, a European was in that debate. Its the first time I agree totally with what a person says. Culture also makes a big difference. Im sure more Europeans feel that way when they see these American shows. In the Us people tend to be more individuals than in Europe, so its hard to understand peoples opinion often. Here's the thing about pronouns - I understand how it can be confusing to people. Personally, I won't ever fully understand it because its not my experience and not my life. However, if someone wants to be called something that may initially seem weird to you, but it would make them comfortable, why is it hard to cater to that person? Its about basic respect as a human, regardless of gender or how they present themselves to the public. As far as I'm concerned if a person has a beard and tells me they are 'she' then okay with me. Its not my space to argue their inner thoughts and experiences. I don't know why people get so up in arms about pronouns. Its especially funny to me when the conservatives say "men are always men and women are always women" but then there will be a super passable trans person and would you honestly look at a trans man who is buff and has facial hair and call him a woman? Basically I think the issue they have is with non-binary folks and trans people who aren't as passable as others. For some reason conservatives think that just because you have a different opinion on gender you don't deserve any respect as a person to be called what you want to be called.

Who said anyone is confused? The reason I won't use 'preferred pronouns' is because I understand the conservative, regressive, sexist logic of this ideology and don't support it. These ideas are not just about individuals and their wants, desires or personal comfort. They effect all of our lives and rights. Respect is a two way street. I can respect these people by just using their name. And they should respect my right not to uphold a problematic ideology that I reject and that effects my rights, just to make them feel good. That's overreaching.

Where I work I get ALOT of transgendered patients and I can confirm these out of the norm pronouns are nothing but young people. They are also the rudest of the people I encounter at my job. If I can’t get them an appointment or a service they turn very childish and rude and I just don’t understand why. Where I work is known as very accepting and when you get hired there they make sure you’re not prejudice or closed off just due to the variety of people we see. But in all honesty sometimes these are the most difficult people to try and help. Be who you wanna be but that doesn’t give you a pass to be rude when you don’t get your way . I loved you on this panel but that other conservative girl with the red was toooo much.
