For those of you saying he should change or dump his GF, This is nothing about having a GF or not, its compromise a bit in your life for others. I guess the truth for you lot (who complain about why bother for the GF), you 1) aren't going to get much laid, 2) Will make very much a lot of ppl not happy with you, include but not limited to: family, work mate, friends[if you actually have any real one]. milanmastracci, I am with you on this. For me, I like a bucket seat as low as possible, so I had one installed just on my side, and kept the passenger side original for my wife easy access.

milanmastracci any ways, about decreasing your engine vibration, you should also try those high end engine and transmission oils. Such as xenum ceramic ( the white one) that helped me a lot!! Also try the waterless Evan cooling stuff! It's also decreased detonation in the engine.

I have solid steel mounts welded to the frame. it makes the steering column vibrate a tad at idle, but mostly that's because it has a misfire when cold. It's really not a problem if you have a "body on frame" car because it isolates the interior from the chassis. A unibody car will shake like hell with solid mounts.

Take everything apart and add felt shims to everything so that it doesn't have play/no more vibrations. I'm actually taking all my carpet and old sound deadening to replace it all with new stuff.

Could of easily made your own motors mounts with some m10 threaded rod, a few nuts, a washer, and a compound called flexane. There are forum threads on how to out there already. It makes the mounts stiffer but since the properties of flexane are much better than that of rubber they will last a whole lot longer. You can even choose your stiffness from flexand 60, 80, and 100 if i can remember right. Good video though for replacing your motor mounts

Seriously though, excess vibrations aren't good for the car in the long run, so hardened sport rubber bushings or poly bushings of similar hardness would be the best practical compromise, if the goal is to keep the car in good shape long term while still experiencing much better handling then stock.

and running rubber and poly bushings puts extra strain on the trans bell because the rubber flexes more than the poly and they'll put a twisting action on the bell in stead of the motor and trans twisting and flexing at the same rate

first off all you shouldn't pick up your girlfriend with the 240 because if i understand correctly you want to build the 240 as a drift car soooo yeah it's not the best car to go for a ride with your girl better use the accord. Second you probably bought the track use mounts which are supposed to be very solid so you don't have vibration and movement on the engine while on the track there should be an option for road use mounts

Or, do what Milan did: eliminate the rattles at the cause of the rattles, and not spend 30-60 hours disassembling and reassembling the interior trying to chase after the symptoms, like a dog chasing it's own tail. I've done the dumb way before on my first of 3 near identical cars, and know now, to go after bad tires, worn suspension, bad powertrain mounts first (not necessarily in that order, though). *Then* you go after the rattles in the interior, and you get way better results.
