Dude this is awesome. Like every 240SX video is some guy mumbling with overbearing background noise, and recorded with a potato. You spoke clearly, little to no background noise, and video quality its great! Thank you for making a quality video on a 240!

Do a vid on adjusting the valves on the 240! Sounds like it needs a bit of adjusting
@Aaron-xd5vr4 жыл бұрын
2 years late but, the KA24DE engine in there is cam on bucket. Valve adjustment = re-shimming those buckets. What you're probably hearing is the timing chain guides.

Its just ok having those mounts. I had em for a year, went back for some new stock mounts, maybe I should of kept the transmission mount on. But for a daily, stay stock!.

The first two things I would dice are the plain washers and the Grower washers. Get some high tensile washers and loctite those socket screws.

Not a fan of urethane, did my whole car a few years ago. Ended up pissing me off with vibrations and wear and tear on other components were greatly increased. Either way good vid

Is there any way to stop the vibration?? Or should I just get oem replacements?
@lachaim4 жыл бұрын
Did u go with oem or what exactly looking to eliminate basically all the vibration but still need to replace my oem should I buy another set of oem or should I just grab the aftermarket oe ones
@dcconyer5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for a great video and taking the time to go through the process in a timely manner with good images and simple, clear explanations. Question about your experience after living with the urethane motor mounts for a while. If you you were going to do it again, would you choose to go back with an OEM motor mount to reduce internal vibration or is the additional vibration worth the convenience? I totally agree with the urethane tranny mounts but am curious specifically about the motor mount daily driving experience. I'm about to change mine and have been trying to decide... Thanks in advance for any info. :)

@milanmastracci7 жыл бұрын
You just need it raised enough so you have less stress on the mounts. After the mounts have the nuts removed from them, you still have to raise the car up to get the mount out so there's no worry there.

Is there any possibility to do the same thing with your brother's Golf, but include replacement of the suspension bushings as well?

The motor mounts and everything for his golf is about 600 bucks american. We did install a new engine mounts on it not too long ago but if the rubber ones go again and my brother buys the mounts i'd be happy to make a video about them

I was turning the throttle plate. Not all cars have access to turn it like that as this car is throttle by cable, as opposed to most modern cars using throttle by wire (where it is electronic instead of mechanical).

Loved the bit where your tongue gave out and you still kept it in, it makes the vids very unique and entertaining to watch lol, are you going to do a vid detailing what you intend to do with the Nissan? You asked is for suggestions and you said I would be mentioned in the next vid, but that was 5 vids or so back... just thought we could have an update please? Thanks. Keep up the good work and content, looking forward to the next vid mate 🤠 peace!

do you have to disconnect anything from transmission ? i feel like its gonna give some stress to it when u jack up the engine. Someone tell me the answer please. soon i ll be replacing those
@milanmastracci5 жыл бұрын
Technically you are putting a bit of stress on it, but not to the point where you are going to damage anything. When you drive your car very conservatively, you are putting stress on those components too. if you raise it gently and don't crush any electrical harnesses, you should be fine.

I have solid mounts on my S14 and OMG the vibrations can get annoying Also, I was getting irritated with how you pronounce “out” BUT, thank you for the video I feel more confident doing this myself. The solid mount on my trans BROKE, so since I’m gonna replace that I’m gonna replace the engine mounts too. Thinking of doing softer than solid ones but a solid mount on the trans

The vibrating is exactly the reason you don't want the polyurethane or solid engine mounts at all or ever... it gives you no performance benefits at all the vibrating and rough ride is so bad it will do your head in long before another set of rubber ones would wear out... same goes for sub-frame bushes rubber bushes and you can go urethane on the rear control arms... you will have comfort and noticabale performance benefit.

Why not solid engine (also rear subframe) mounts? I know they have same thoughts as welded diff (they reduce comfort and etc.), but they won't wear out for EVER. And dont miss, that they can hold ANY power. Also your mature and you have your own opinion and don't have to listen to 14year old. Yust a suggestion0
@milanmastracci7 жыл бұрын
I contemplated it but I still want to have decent drivability with the car. I'm not looking to make this thing a full blown race car, but in the event that that changes, solid engine mounts will definitely work.
