I’m a supporter of learning our history however, I’m leery of movies that highlight our pain and suffering. From a spiritual perspective, our suffering is food to the demonic forces that want to keep us down, discouraged and hopeless. It’s like being in a loop of abuse and disempowerment. It’s TRAUMA and impacts us psychologically! I think this story is important but we also need movies about our ancestors enacting justice!

I hear you, I used to feel that way but I think that we should have this movie made because today's generation has lost touch with our history. The film makers need to make it as graphic and historical accurate as possible, don't water it down to make white people feel better or black people think that it wasn't that bad. I published my Emmett Till book last year but much of the information I researched for my book came from other literature. I think the only way a film could do it justice is if there is well researched accuracy. I think a documentary would be much better. Hollywood has a way of warping stories so I wouldn't trust it, unless it had an excellent and accurate script and director.

I would like to see black movies where blacks are on top of the world. I want to see old biblical movies where all the characters are black (as they were). I want to see black movies that uplift and show success, instead of slavery, drugs and sports.

I also learned that a White guy was just a kid himself heard his parents say how she was a pretty woman who wore shorts and used to flirt with all the young kids white or black that came into the store

Yes its important that the world knows every detail of the vicious way American Blacks have been treated i n this country. Spike Lee needs to do a movie on the history of lynching also.
