All of my propane appliances on my Lance 835 truck camper worked except the heater. May have not taken the best troubleshoot route but here ya go. Wanted to knock my head against a wall by the end of this diag.
NOTE: I failed to mention in the video, I did turn the regulator adjustment back to where it originally was. However I ended up replacing the entire regulator assembly due to the seepage from the switching valve weep hole. `

That was amazing deduction assessing the stove burners and realizing there was a pressure issue! Kudos.

I appreciate the complete disassembly of the system. Even though you ended up not needing it, it gave me a chance to see the components before I disassembled mine.

I had a similar issue with an old Winnebago years ago. Fridge and oven were short on gas put in a new $7.00 regulator and worked great luckily since got to a cabin and the fridge there was bad! Good video Chris.

So I followed your checks and the last thing I checked was the igniter electrodes. Wasn't going to do it but I did. Sure enough a mud dauber had built a nest on the electrodes. Cleaned it off and bingo it worked. Thanks for your post.

Thanks for this! I took mine apart and did all the checks you did and it was all fine. I was told the furnace was never fired. It looked like it was only ever test fired. Turned out the one gas valve solenoid was rusted stuck. Cleaned it up, and it works perfectly! Gets my little pop up super toasty, and running it all night for 2 nights I didn’t even kill a 20lb

Thanks for the video. This helped me to end my 3 hour journey of troubleshooting that stupid thing. I had a problem with my altwood hydro flame furnace and your video solved it in 1 minute. But thank god I didn't had to take the whole thing apart. The furnace would not turn on in my camper at all. Every video on KZbin shows how to take it apart and how to clean it and much more. But I had a gut feeling that this is not a cleaning or any kind of malfunctioning problem. Now you are the first one showing step by step what you did to start the furnace up and that was the helping hint in the first minute. I knew I had power on the thermostat. Power supply is correct but I had no power on the furnace side. Checked the breakers and tiny fuses all are ok. You showed on your thermostat to turn the heat all the way up and all the other videos didn't show your next step. You toggled the upper switch on the thermostat to the on position and that is nowhere mentioned in all those videos I have watched. But that little stinky plastic switch done the job and my furnace makes the sound of happiness. Mention that maybe in your next video it might help someone like it helped me even though you just turned yours on routinely. Ha ha. Thanks again.

Oh man I've been in that exact same situation in the software world so many times. You end up debugging the wrong thing down to the last line and then finally realize "oh, the function calling it is expecting a "1" when really it should be expecting to get a "0".

Awesome problem-solving sequences in your video. I am such a newbie compared to you that the first thing that I must ask you before I attempt some similar problem-solving is this one: What powers the furnace, if anything? Does the flow of propane do everything? I ask this as this is my first RV and it has not camped in perhaps a couple of decades. It used to have solar-panels. I have only gotten a chance to plug power directly into it (from a house extension cord to the RV plug) just once, and may never get that chance again. So then, do I need some sort of electrical power for the furnace to work or, does it just need a full propane tank? I tried the two cooking burners inside yesterday and they worked fine! Thanks, Martin.
@NoNonsenseKnowHow
@NoNonsenseKnowHow 3 жыл бұрын
It's powered with 12 volts from the battery. First things to check would be the fuse box, the safety trip switch, and if you're getting propane or not.

I have a similar model to yours. It's clicking, but pretty slow. Maybe once a second. I think in your video I could hear your ignitor clicking very rapidly. Maybe my ignitor isn't even clicking, maybe it's the solenoid making that sound? Also took the ignitor out and fired up the furnace, but didn't see any spark. (My ignitor has three rods instead of two.) Ideas of what my problem could be?

Mine didnt light up until i filled with antifreeze. There is antifreeze leake and i cant find it jet. Inside cant see any leaks it might be where the burner is but i cant see need to look again.

I have the same heater in my camper and keep having issues during 0 degree weather. It runs basically nonstop for around 25 or 30 hours, then it stops working and blows cold air. I have plenty of electrical power and have fresh propane tanks. My regulator is outside of the camper….is it possible it’s freezing up?
@NoNonsenseKnowHow
@NoNonsenseKnowHow Жыл бұрын
Yeah if you're talking 0° f. It's probably freezing up or the tank is getting too cold and doesn't have pressure. Next time it stops working, try using your range to see if that's still operates fine. That will tell you if the tank still has good pressure

Too much tech required!!! Give me a 1962 Coleman furnace. No dangerous , complex electronics required. Turn the tank on, turn the pilot light on, light the pilot light, adjust the flame. Start the burner. Sniff for leaks. Proceed with care. Check for heat. Adjust accordingly.🤗
