@travisbrewer16415 жыл бұрын
You know, I've realized something. the freedom of choice and ability to change the fate of themselves and others the protagonists in the bioshock games have is opposite of their humanity. Jack, a artificial man with no childhood, was only able to choose his path after the man pulling his strings died. Subject delta, an inhuman monster, could choose freely to act as others saw him or be a good man despite all that had happened to him, or a mixture based on his own choices and morality, reflecting on others mostly his daughter, he ironically had no chains and in ways was the most human of them,. then there's booker, a man who's action are all superficial, all just for show. Illusion of choice. Despite being fully human, no matter what he does, he will walk the same path unable to make his own choices a slave of fate. Jack is a slave who became a man, Delta is a man who's survived in metal armor, and Booker, he's just a slave. but as I said, Ironically the most human of them has the least choice, while the least human has the most. its fascinating really

3:35 to 4:07 I love how much this video encapsulates who Frank Fontaine is: A dead-inside sadistic thug and sociopath who mindlessly craves power as a "man of many faces" and how underneath all the charm and charisma is a man who is "faceless" who cares about nothing but wrecking the world for his amusement.

@johnj.spurgin70375 жыл бұрын
I'm a simple man, I see another bioshock rap by my favorite gaming song producers? I thumbs up. You're doing blessed work boys. Keep em' coming. As an aside, would it be possible to see you make songs of Hollow Knight? It's a bit older, but with a sequel in the works and the metroidvania style of the game being as agelessly iconic as it is, I feel it could use both more publicity, and a tribute like only you can do. Plus, I've never seen you guys try to work the sounds of insects into your music as accompaniment, and I feel it'd be an interesting challenge.

After getting this feeling of joy after seeing the games come full circle was super uplifting despite the very dark undertones after playing as Elizabeth. But this has a totally different vibe, the opposite, and damn is it good. Keep up the awesome work.

4:35 ONE OF MY FAVORITE PARTSSSS
@nagydavid82882 жыл бұрын
*Greetings JT, hello Divide!* My name is Nagy Dávid, and I’m from Hungary. I’m impressed by hearing your songs, but that one is my favourite. I want to help the people to understand it. I decided to translate it to my language!🇭🇺 I’m learning english right now but I’m not the best, so It’s not perfect, but I tried. Hold your noses, DIVE! -Divide ‘Bízhatok benned? Egy maszkabál elkezdődött… Habár a parti nem volt túl élénk. Nyisd fel kalitkád, s tégy egy lépest kifelé… Kövesd utasításaimat… Lennél szíves? -JT Ki írná alá önmaga holti anyakönyvi kivonatát? Efajta kérdésről senki sem kérdőjelezi meg, jogos-e. Az ember aki egy csempészáru szindikátust futtatott, most visszafolytott lélegzettel vár, a felszabadítására azonnal sor kerül! A múltam lángba kellett borítsam hogy futurisztikákba fektethessek. S üzletet csináltam a disztópia árváiból. A nagybátyónak szemmel kéne tartani kishugait, ennek tanujai viszont most a halakkal úsznak. Odafenn kezdtem, de levetettem magam a mélységbe, arra várva hogy nevem rég elfeledetté válik. S újraépítettem magam a koldusok között, szodomájukba esve. Ezt az elszegényedett lakosságot felvittem, s megtanulták tőlem hogyan dönthetik meg a korrupciót - találj magadnak egy gyújtót, s robbants forradalmat, itt harcolhataz tűzzel tűz ellen! Ugyan miért próbáljak felépíteni egy saját birodalmat, ha másét is lenyúlhatom? Ha azon töprengsz, kinek van joga a homlokodon csordogáló verítékhez, hát hagyd abba a kemény munkát, szerzek neked a törülközőt. Elutasítottam Ryan üzenetét, de a kulcsai a kezemben! A valódi Fontaine legyen szíves felállni! Ne nézz rám! Tán kérdezhetnéd kissé szebben, próbálkozz “lennél szíves?”-sel! Ragadj térképet vagy Atlaszt, sosem találsz meg! Oly sok ÁDÁM és plazmid kering ereimben - Törd meg a Nagy Láncot mely visszatart minket - Szabaddá tettél! -Divide Imádkozz hát hogy a hangok mind nem csak csalódás - Városkánk csavart természete foltokban visszhangzik - És a döntéseid - távol az illúzióktól Szorosan öleld át a káosz okozta perzselő fájdalmat ereidben. Feledkezz meg az identitásról, ami egy koncepció, mely számomra halott. Oly nagyon nem hasonlít a sorsunkra. És megalkottam ami lenni akartál! -JT Az utolsó látogatónk nem áll messze a mély ponttól. Kösz a zuhanást, nem volt túl kényelmes! Angyalunk odafentről idelent ördögre talál! Milyen mélyre süllyed majd? Lehozom az én szintemre! Senki nem ismeri Jack-et, ez a mesteri tervem része. Nem csodaföldére csöppentél, Alice! Éppen a tojássalátád körül játszadozom, (I’ve been playin’ around in your egg salad, angol szleng) Honnan gondolod hogy megszerzem Ryan koronáját szavazólap nélkül? Maradhatok itt, de eszemben sincs kampányolni! - Kezemben a gyeplő, Rapture-nek karbantartás kell! A város szivárog, az ÁDÁM és az ÉVA fogyóban, szóval ragadj meg egy rövidhullámú rádiót, nem hagylak lógni! Ez van, mindegy hogy egy szeg hegyéből tudod, vagy egy hurokból, (Újabb angol szleng) jobb mintha az anyafarkas (Tenebaum asszony/Mother Goose) csicskája kéne hogy légy. Hasznos vagy számomra, te vagy az én ászom, (Ace in the hole, ez az egyetlen ésszerű fordítás a “vésztartalék”-on kívűl.) De vannak ketteseid és hármasaid, még nem tervezel bedobni? Rajtakaptalak ugatni a parancsaim miatt mint egy spániel! Kutyák beszéde! Idézd csak fel, mit tettél azokkal a kezekkel! Szóval ha meglátsz egy apró szörnyszülöttet, végezz a testőrével! Mit számít egy szaros kölyök neked, gyűjtsd be az ÁDÁM-ját! Emellett még a pénz semmi, ha gazdagságra vágysz, inkább végy a kezeid közé egy tonikot, ez nem egy csalói út - A tárad nem túl bőséges, ígyhát a töltényekről ne feledkezz meg ha nem akarsz kifogyni, amíg oda nem érsz Ryan irodájába, és végzel a mocskos köcsöggel. -Divide Egy igen sok arcú férfi vagyok, de lefújom ma a maszkabált. Eme színjáték alatt arcom sincsen. Csak egy előadó vagy, a rendező én vagyok! Oh… A függönyök elhúzva, állj a tömeg elé, tudd a szöveged, mondd hangosan! Játszd a részed, hadd legyünk büszkék rád, halld a tapsot, s hajolj meg! -JT Szép munka kölyök, mondhatom, mostmár hamar elintézem a halálod! Megmondták nekem: az üzlet és a barátság nem konbinálható. De te voltál a legjobb partner, akit valaha is választhattam volna, ígyhát jobban bántam veled mint egy édesapa, még a tiédnél is jobban. Enyém Raptue tetőtől-talpig, ha enyém a befolyás! Valami probléma ezzel, kölyök? Gyerünk csak, én megoldom! Úgy hiszed, hatalmas vagy? Számomra csak 20 watt! Én pedig Broadway fénye! Hoztam egy bandát amit én uralok! Ki mondta neked hogy különleges vagy, hogy nagy dolgokra vagy hivatott? Ki vésett ez elmédbe emlékeket, aztán vette el tőled a szárnyaid? Ki ébresztett rá a valódi énedre, és a csodákra amikre képes vagy? Ha ez szerinted nem család, akkor nem tudom, hogy mi. A nevem Atlas és életben tartalak, ha majd Frank Fontaine felemelkedik, te már nem számítasz. A nevem Atlas és életben tartalak, ha majd Frank Fontaine felemelkedik, te már nem számítasz! Thank you for the attention. Have a nice day, goodbye! // Köszönöm a figyelmet. Szép napot, viszlát -Dávid

@@mr.cup6yearsago211 Well, there are rumours that BS4 is gonna be open world & have dialogue options ala Fallout. I still stand by my opinion that taking the fighting out of BioShock is a bad idea, the combat is half of the game's charm. I doubt it would've been quite as successful without the plasmids & vigors
@maxjolly7683 жыл бұрын
@@BooksandBuns the fighting is perfect in my opinion. In an underwater city that basically functions as an elaborate drug den with psychos hopped up on a gene-altering drug that kills them if they don't take enough of it, all while this drug is being collected from corpses by little girls protected by giant lumbering armoured monsters that speak in whale noises, it be far to assume that you'd get into quite a few fights, seeing as you technically are also one of those drug addicted psychos, the only difference is that ADAM is not your sole motivation. Not to mention the fact that you are also using ADAM and EVE to basically wield the scientific version of magic.

"If you wonder who's entitled to the sweat of your brow, stop working so hard, I'll get you a towel." A perfect lyrical metaphor for how Fontaine used fake kindness to trick people out of everything they had. If the 'sweat of your brow' is used metaphorically to represent your belongings, then lending someone a 'towel' is a metaphor for using the offer of comfort to steal a person's 'sweat' without them realizing.
