+Metalman200xdamnit true but this would also become a state football stadium where they also play at relent stadium (home of the texans) kyle field (texas a&m) AT&T field ( Dallas Cowboys ) and Allen eagles stadium it's the one big highschool stadium in the houston texas area and it's for a school that has won I believe 8 of the last 10 state championships and that will send 90% of its football team to college for free and it's in a city of 100,000 people so it not worth it for them to spend that kind of money on what might as well be the best thing to happen to houston in a while

The fact that katy is a mostly upper class suburb this most people that live their return and always give back to their high school no matter what I work in katy they love their high schools here and between the local businesses and school alumni it isn't coming outta taxes it is coming outta pocket trust no extra taxes are necessary to build it
@austinmaddox788410 жыл бұрын
Texas can actually afford extra stuff than more states because of oil. Everyone knows we have oil. Also we put a ton of money into our education. Plus if the state provides better extracurriculars for students than that probably means more students want to achieve. No pass no play. Once again our money foundation for education is high and affordable. And if you actually listened they using the field for 7 schools. Allen has one field for one school but that city is so rich they can afford it. Plus we don't even has state or local tax.
@MrAteam810 жыл бұрын
As much as I love playing football. Why wouldn't they just build individual fields for each team? Wouldn't that cost much less then one huge stadium for each team to share.That field alone is bigger then some college fields around where im from.

@MissLilBitHP10 жыл бұрын
The stadium is not the only thing that was built with the bond. There is also an amazing Fine Arts Center. The citizens of Allen voted for higher taxes to make the last improvement to the new school! The field is used by any sport that needs a field. Underneath the stadium is a weight room, driving range, soccer facilities etc. Other schools and organizations also use the stadium as well as the Fine Arts Center.

@thunderpuppy67195 жыл бұрын
Because Katy games typically draw between 7 and 10 thousand fans. How do you fit that many people in a "smaller stadium"?
@samvander33106 жыл бұрын
Well when you put12,000 butts in those seats every game at 9 bucks a ticket, plus parking, Concessions , renting. Paying will done pretty quickly. Not to mention businesses backing it Coca-Cola put up 2 million and a jumbo tron for our WISD stadium in waco shared by 2 schools in Texas high school football is BIG business.
@notoriouseagle10744 жыл бұрын
I'm all for building nice athletic facilities for your high school and bringing more exposure to your town, but money should be spent on things like updated textbooks, technology, career tech facilities, and stuff like that before you get to the sports stadiums even though that's what brings in the most revenue for the school, especially football in Texas.

until you actually go to a Katy game or any Texas game you'll understand why they waste so much money on stadiums. games over here are litt and pack. for a example if your not there a hour early waiting for tickets it be sold out when you come.
@ktcarl7 жыл бұрын
There will probably wind up being 10 high schools in this area in the future. One stadium can't field that many games in a week. The growth and influx of new housing will pay for the new stadium without increases taxes. Allen's stadium cost $10mil less. Katy's stadium price is higher due to inflation and rise in construction costs. Allen's stadium would be at least $10mil more than Katy's if built today. Allen's stadium is for just one high school.
@eitkoml7 жыл бұрын
No, I wouldn't pay that much for a high school football stadium. For a bunch of kids who have practically no chances of making it to getting a university scholarship or go to the NFL a field filled with weeds and a few bleachers will do the job just fine.
