I have something like that with a washing machine in my dream, but after some years our machine exploded in real life. Because we sometimes get things wrong, and some things have been completely destroyed and have left no trace like the library of Alexandria, so a book with accurate, precise information about the past would be amazing. Jack totally reflects my take on country vs city life. People always say how great it must be to live / grow up in a quiet small village but I grew up there and I hated it so goddamn much. There's nothing to do, there's no people to properly socialize with (unless you get lucky with the 3 other kids your age), there's no way to get anywhere where you can do anything without long preparation and other people's help to the point where it just feels like a prison with no walls. City life is the greatest compared to that. Or at least a town sized place.

I grew up in a small town as well, so I completely understand what you mean. I understand the appeal and I do enjoy the convenience of everything being right there when I visit the city(in my case, Seattle), but I don't like how there are so many people in the city and so many crowds. It gives me anxiety when I see so many people in one area like that and just thinking about how many actually live there can cause me to feel uncomfortable, its getting bettwr as I get older though and I'm slowly warming up to the idea of moving there someday for a short time. I can't say its like that for everyone that dislikes living in cities, but it might help explain why some people have so much hate for living in highly populated areas. :)

Couldn't agree more, I've been in small towns since 2008 (I'm 17) and I can honestly say it has been the most boring 10 years of my life. On top of that I don't properly have a license yet so even if I wanted to visit the neighboring city (which is not that much bigger than the one I'm in) for a day I couldn't without a lot of planning and someone to drive for me :'(
