SCP 2221 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as A Friendly Agreement.
An instance of SCP-2221 is an End User License Agreement (EULA), of the sort commonly agreed to by consumers in order to use software. Instances of SCP2221 are typically found attached to free or inexpensive software available over the internet. They are unusually long for EULAs, presumably to deter consumers from reading to the end. Near the end of the contract are three clauses believed to bring about distinct but related anomalous effects.

As someone who works with computers a lot. Read the agreement. Not the entire thing. But find keypoints and read through them. Most agreements have a kind of chapter like layout. Say you read the privacy policy. You might find sections inside the policy. Such as: Collected information, Third Parties, Use of information, etc. Look for the keypoints that could affect your safety.

thats what i thought too, no children or mentally impaired, no sleeping or forcing from an outside source. I doubt someone would be turned into an instance if a meatball hit the "i agree" button, the anomaly seems that strict about it. Although they might have more followers if they didn't make instances/followers pray literally constantly until they die from one thing or another

100% your own fault + legally and mentally capable to consent Tho, that does raise the question: Couldn't this SCP be defeated by smart contract laws? I mean legal age is different world wide but this SCP requires the signatory to be of legal age IN their respective nation, this is a clear sign that it's required to follow the law for it to be effective, it also explains why SCP-2221-A's are so politically motivated; it needs the law to be unchanged and exploitable for it's T&C to be legal and thus, have power. it would also explain why the "taunt" clause is the only thing that works on the D class. D class are outside any legal system so the clause had to work within the D class rules, and nothing bans D class from Cumming in there own spare time.

Those researchers never heard of "ctrl + F" to search for keywords. If they wanted to at least partially contain it, they'd hand off the duty of searching for new keywords amongst each other and the rest would sift through checking using search terms instead of actually reading the whole thing and passing them off to other researchers for up to 3 checks to make sure the agreement is good.

I used to work IT and fixed computers with software and hardware problems, as well as wrote a bit of code myself back in the day. From how this vid depicted it, the source code seemed to be put into a text document so they could review it, Ctrl+F would work.

The real problem with user agreements of all sorts is the fact that the list of text is so long very few actually read what they say and agree to, but also if you do not agree; you may not proceed to use / install what ever you were going to.

I have to wonder if this is related to other SCPs. I doubt it is to the Hanged King (His stuff is a bit more H.P. Lovecraft themed), but there are other Noose related SCPs. One in particular requires religious people hung from it on a regular basis, and those hung are given visions of various religious figures and deities being executed.

I think that this SCP probably wouldn't be happy to learn that there has been a precedent set that End User License Agreements can be invalidated if they take action to make the language deliberately confusing or otherwise make it unfairly difficult or impossible to understand what you are consenting to. Likewise, legal Agreements that mandate arbitration with certain parties be handled within those parties can also be considered unlawful and thus invalid. Aka, the same reason that this doesn’t work on D-Class personnel, is the same reason it may eventually be considered completely invalid from the go.

They could have just given a D-class a computer and replace a normal agreement for some popular software the D-class would most probably download like Google Chrome for example with this agreement so they would agree out of their own free will with no outer elements present
