Hi Jenell Jenell hope you're all OK love this coaster. Great idea for coasters and love your idea of batch weaving them. Definitely a great gift idea. You seem to come up with great ideas when my mind has gone blank. Been looking forward to you being here, all week. Just to get my mojo back. Thanks again for a great idea and a great tutorial. Lots of live to you and Cody and big hugs to your pets. Jen xxxx

Got my 14" Beka loom today and did this design with dish cloth yarn, which is all I had on hand. A little skinny, but I did it and enjoyed it. Now to get some thicker yarn or use two strands and give it another try. Thanks for the inspiration.

I saw one of your weaves on Michaels DYI section and followed you from there. I’m glad I found you. I have never weaved before but I crotchet and knit so thought this would be fun!!

Hermoso. Una pregunta ¿cuántos centímetros de distancia hay entre una hebra y otra, en el entramado?

Thanks for this! I know this is 3 years old, but do you have a basics video? I'm unsure about some terminology and the first and last stitch row.

Hello! I love this pattern/technique. I get some petty good bumps that stick up where the two colors interlock. Do you have any tips to help avoid that? Thanks! 😊
@spruceandlinen11 ай бұрын
Hmm, I'm not sure as I haven't had that issue. Are you using thick cotton cord? If so that might be the issue.
@danamartin756611 ай бұрын
@@spruceandlinen I am using Sugar & Cream brand cotton medium 4 yarn. Is that too thick?

Can a twine stitch take the place of the hem stitch when finishing a weave? Also I enjoy your videos & I'm going to make these for Christmas gifts! What size cotton thread are you using? Can I use 4mm for coasters cause I have A LOT!!!
@spruceandlinen3 жыл бұрын
For the most part, yes! BUT, for coasters like this, you would definitely want to do the twining AND knot the warp strings.

What type of yarn did you use for this coaster? Cotton? Wool? I started one with wool today (as soon as I received my new loom from you) but felt like my yarn was too fluffy for coasters... 🤦♀
@spruceandlinen2 жыл бұрын
It’s Bernat Handicrafter Cotton- typically used for knitting or crochet dishcloths. 😊

Hey, its such a beautiful video! I just wanted to ask if the tucked ends of loose weft would come out if washed..is knotting them first a good idea?
@spruceandlinen4 жыл бұрын
Personally I wouldn't knot, as long as you tuck in the ends through a number of rows, it should all stay in place. A knot will likely show through.

Coasters are also a great thing to sell if somebody wants to buy a weaving but doesn't want to put down the money for a tapestry, blanket, or rug yet.

Absolutely! It's always a good idea to have a range of products with a range of pricing :)

Is this also known as clasp weft weaving? Stay inspired!
@katrin4622 жыл бұрын
I've only seen clasp weft done in a way that you pull the weft through to one side, interlock and just pull back again as far as you want it to go (where you want the colour change). It means that you always have a doubled thread though! I think that's the easier way to do it on a heddle loom
