The usual sentence as a first time offender I believe would more likely be a fine and probation or maybe even a suspended sentence, etc. but not likely real jail time. Falsification of business records is so common you’d need to build several new prisons to house them all.

David. I’m a Canadian who went to South Bend Indiana for my son‘s baseball tournament a number of years ago when Pete was mayor there. I emailed him before I left to see if I could set up a visit with him because I had read up on him, and found out he was not only a big JFK buff like myself, but he also won a Kennedy centre award, and was a Rhodes Scholar as well as serving meritoriously in Afghanistan. He got back to me right away, and we set up a meeting. He spent no less than an hour with my son and myself in his office. We talked about a lot of things, and he was extremely accommodating. We got some pictures with him, and he presented my son with a “key to the city” at the end of our visit. To say this man was genuine and authentic would be a gross understatement. He is intelligent, articulate, and so kind and compassionate. He is the real deal, and I can tell you from firsthand experience, what you see, is exactly what you get. If he was in Canada, he would have my vote in a heartbeat.
