You guys are getting better at this, of course your route today was outstanding. I really want to get back to Taiwan but foreigners are currently not allowed in. It is the best part of Asia, the best people and scenery, at a reasonable price. Food is also no. 1 in the world. I am lucky knowing Chinese language. I recommend the SuHua highway along the east coast after Toroko Gorge and Hualian, if it is open. Often closed due to landslides. Incredible ocean views.

SuHua has finished a major project to replace most winding roads with passing thru routes with many tunnels. This highway is basically landslide proof now. Motorcycles and bicycles are not allowed in those new routes though.

We enjoy an eating trip in each city, start with breakfast then mid morning snack, late lunch say dim sum, some afternoon bubble tea, dinner then night market snacks. Taiwan food at its best!

There are many tea 'Terroir' in Taiwan and A-Li-San is one of the best. In fact, tea costs dearly , per pound of tea can easily cost you 50 Euro. If you do enjoy scenic drive, the East Coast is awesome and Taroko National Park is the one not to miss.

Shizhou is a place to make cheaper and high quality Woolong tea in Taiwan. As you know, there are many guesthouses here to let you experienced tea farm field life, and you might try to make tea by yourself. And here is the middle point to the forest area of A-li mountain, and is an area to raise the best coffee of Taiwan.

The misted mountain is quite a serene scene to behold, worth all the sweat that get you there. Usually most people go to the mountains for the landscape and sunrise/sunset, but actually we have quite nice night sky for star gazing which is less appreciated. During your stay in Taiwan, should you have a chance to spend the night in the mountain high enough (above 2000 m) with a clear sky, it's always worthwhile to pay a little visit to the heavens above. And Kim, I found your hairpin very adorable hehehe.

Alishan or Chayi area is still considered part of southern Taiwan and few people regard it as located in central Taiwan. The topography there is so rugged that steep trails or stairs prevail everywhere. It may be a good way to climb up and down the trails one hour everyday to lose the weight because after the climbing, you might sweat buckets. Alishen used to be the inhabitat of one tribe of indigenous people and even the name Ali comes from the indigenous language.

Try to goto Eastern Taiwan. Around Taitung. There is a cool little surf town DongHe that's a short drive away. Beautiful area with friendly surfers and local aborigines. There is a cool surf house called Low Pressure Resturant and Guesthouse run by a Japanese guy (lots of foreigners come to surf there so they also speak english). Enjoy.. Great videos

Shi-zuo(where the trails are and the sunset was shot) is actually halfway to Alishan.... People usually make a stop there and then keep going up hill for about one or two hours' drive to Alishan Recreation Area.. However, your film is wonderful. Next time, we may spend more time there
