So gorgeous, you are really master of travel. I never saw these amazing group of fireflies. The Alishan is famous for its sunrise, but it really needs luck to see it, with clear sky and lower mist. The breakfast you ate is really traditional in the time of agricultural Taiwan, and the food is sweet potato congee. Thanks 4 supporting Taiwan with your exceptional content. Beware to stay away from those betel nut products due to addiction and cancer causing problems like cigarettes. Take care and stay safe/healthy too.
it's ok if you can't take good photo shots of the fireflies. Sometimes, the experience is more important than the photos. I had a mesmerising experience at near the top of NZ Mt Cook stargazing. I gave up trying to take photos of the stars since my camera can't do a good job. But till this day, I still remember that magical moment I had, with a hot cup of cocoa clasped in both my hands in cold autumn and learning from my hostel mates about the constellations. I could never have such experience in concrete built Singapore where the bright lights of the city state dim out the stars. Experience etched deep in my memory, not on photos.
@NaickKim4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that experience. Star pictures can be quite cool, but nothing beats just seeing them and enjoying. ❤️

Nice relaxing video again! Here's some fun facts to share: The "palm trees" you saw are not actually palm trees per say, they are "betel nuts" which is another major cash crop besides tea. The "betel nut" is a vibrant business here in Taiwan and south east Asia. The indigenous use them as energy snack, and people like truck driver use them often to keep them self from dozing off. Also kudos to the red flashlight with least influence to the environment!
@NaickKim4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. How is the betel nut consumed?
@KwazyBoba4 жыл бұрын
@@NaickKim I've never try one because it's confirmed to be carcinogen. But based on what I've learned, people scroll betel nuts with betel nut leaves and, I kid you not, lime (mineral, not fruit). There are numerous recipe of betel nuts, and I am sure that you've come across several betel nut stands on your road trip which you didn't aware of.
@wfireC4 жыл бұрын
@@NaickKim I never try it either, but I know you are not supposed to swallow the stuff. You chew it like chewing tobacco, and you spit out the juice. I am not sure the exact process, but the juice is dark red like blood. In the past, people travelled to Southeast Asia often encountered natives spitting blood like liquid, and it is the result of chewing betel nuts. They also stain the teath black. In the ancient time, Japanese women considered black teath as a fashion statement, and I think it was also due to this habbit..

But they’re not planted for a “green” purpose... They’re actually bad to retain the soil and water for the environment, and the beetle nuts themselves are also harmful to human health... Maybe they look tropical or even exotic to foreigners, but it’s quite problematic as a popular economic plant against public and environmental health.
