I did do this strat from 54-57. It is really hard. The leeway of the mobs is very rng. It’s a lot easier to break the pulls into 3-4 packs each. It actually only takes about 20 min a run if you do it this way and don’t need to LIP. I will say though it is probably the biggest learning curve if you are new to CoC strats due to the difficulty of learning the leeway of the mobs. I swear to god it’s literally different each time with these little shits. Great guide and keep pumping em out!

I did the same thing with the ZF GY "1 pull" strat... After dying *many* times just trying to get to the GY, I would almost always die when I tried to pull all the GY mobs up to the top, since until you learn the way they respond, they won't stack up into a neat bunch. (Very easy to have one group come late, and wipe you out as you jump to avoid another pack). Anyway, I did the northernmost graves, learned to down those (which is where I figured out how not to panic, and just focused on jumping correctly), then I'd pull the northwest graves, etc... Once I got that down, I'd do the first 2 out of three groups of graves -- then would go aggro that last group if I wanted -- or just reset... Then finally, pulling the whole GY became a piece of cake, (I was level 49 by that point though) :-)

Tried this at 54, extremly hard, 1st pull timing must be +- 1s on point or the snakes will destroy you @2:30 part, this turn is very hard since the wall is buggy and the blink cooldown will barely refresh almost when you are about to die. Also you will get short blink if you point your camera too far to the left. Second part is even harder, last elemental pack is pretty much RNG. After you blink through the snakes @10:57 you will have to LIP or you will die in few seconds. There is a chance that the elementals wont be there cuz they patrol all the way down. If you LIP and start aoeing and they interrupt you on their way back its very hard to recover from that. Prepare to corpse run at least 50 times before you get it figured, dont bother the second LIP part if your Cone of cold kiting is not mastered cuz one fuckup will cost you LIP gold + corpse run time. It's not easy, compared to braindead ZF farm the difficulty increase is exponential.

Very true. I think by far the hardest part is to finish the last group. I tried it once with a LIP but cone and nova got both resisted by at least 4 mobs. I was close to kill all snakes but elementals wouldve fckd me up 100%. I dont see how this will work. Im sure I could pull it off if a make some more trys but at what cost? Every time 1 LIP + I need great rng and I probably will die by the last elemental mobs anyways if i dont bing during the try. Not worth it. I did split the last pull into 2 or 3 and that works fine without LIP etc.

@@klofrau9331397 what i did was 1st pull, then run to the second location, pull 3 packs of snakes + 2 elementals and aoe them up there where the 2nd pack is, then go down behind the goblin boss, pull another 4 packs of snakes and 1 elemental pack, aoe them down easily with blizzards, and if you still have time before 15min mark, go and kill last 4 packs + 1 elemental. You are saving yourself so much stress and RNG and also LIPs.

Thanks for the video. Good stuff, as usual. PSA to the "regular" players: If you are not good at this (like me), break the pulls into smaller chunks to learn it. I stupidly kept trying to do the whole pull from the get go and found it immensely frustrating trying to learn leeway and melee distances. In particular, the run back after dying and not being able to quickly get back into the waterfall (unless I missed something obvious) was brutal and time consuming. Break this into smaller chunks at first and you will save a lot of frustration.

Following this strat it is virtually impossible to get 100k xp/hr. You could pull it off once, with all the mobs stacking up correctly, all hit by every cone, no resists, etc. But to do is 4-5x an hour? Never going to happen due to the extreme variables. What will happen, though, is you'll spend hours and hours trying trying to pull it off, dying tons of times and then move on to something better.

If you're trying this strat for the first time in hopes of quick leveling. Do Not bother. It is very RNG based and extremely hard to pull off perfectly. You'll spend more time learning it than if you chose any other method of leveling. If leveling quickly is your goal. I recommend doing some AOE grinding in Plaguelands for a few levels instead until DM.

For the new guy's trying to learn this pull, here's tips from a guy who had to do lots of attempts before getting it right. Avoid the temptation of going in at lvl 52 or 53 - at that point it's a lot easier to pull mobs and they will damage your shields too much, essentially causing you to go OOM or have to low of hp. It's really easy to go OOM on this pull as well. There's a lot that can go wrong, if a big elemental resists a nova or lots of the small guy's resist, a pull can go bad quickly. The pull becomes a lot easier to manage if you make sure the serpent mobs die quickly. Also at lvl 56 you are able to sneak past the crocolisk mobs easily and can pull a few more earth elemental packs if you roam around a little bit. Lastly if you killed the snakes but don't think you have enough mana or hp for the earth elementals it's often wise to just reset them, even if it means giving up on the loot they drop. If you wipe you won't be able to make it back in time to loot any corpses.

Same here, also the boars can sometimes be further away and when I pull one to the further pack of boars the other 1 runs back. My CoC doesn't hit all of the mobs and when I try to stand closer to get CoC, I just continue to get rekt and die fast.

I've played a mage forever but never did COC kiting. What I did was I would pull one pack of the mobs at a time and just practice kiting around and seeing what I needed to do to hit them all. Since I only had one pack it took a lot longer for them to kill me when I messed up and I was able to take a bit more away from the mistakes that I made. I tried doing one of the big pulls the first time I zoned in an since I didn't know what I was doing I died instantly as soon as I messed up. I hope this helps!

Best tip I could say is don't use the mob closest to you as your marker, use the middle of the pack as the mob you're kiting. The more clumped they are the better, if they were coming to you, step towards them a little before u cone of cold, it makes the mobs closest to u stutter step a little into the pack. If you have time and the mana, throwing in a flamestrike after the nova helps a lot. For the jump cone of cold, I would say practice with one mob until u get the distance of your cone down 100%. Personally I bind toggle autorun to the middle mouse button, so I can just click it to auto run, and then i just gotta hold down the right mouse button to turn my toon, while running, so mid jump, I just look left cone, then back to the direction I was running.

Importent to mention is the minor runspeed enchant on the boots. I did not have it on my boots initially and wondered why the elites caught up to me and made the pull so crazy dificult and reasons for it, except for minor optimisation i realised i didn't have the enchant and just got it, and it makes a HUGE difference if you do or do not have it, so i would really recommend getting it since it's a fairly cheap enchant anyway.

Just found a Golden Pearl! Hard to learn the farm. Went through 2 sets of red gear until I had it down. For me it worked best to just apply the kill strategy from the last pack to the first pack. Frost Nova -> blizzard x2 -> Frost Nova -> Shatter combo. Just using Ice Block instead of LiP there. Ideally you want to have part of your Ice Barrier up when you enter the Ice Block and reapply it after you got out and made some distance. It will easily prevent your Blizzards from being pushed back from the 1-2 mobs that resist. Cheers for all your awesome content Arlaeus.

As I'm learning this @ 54, a trick I learned for the last big pull is to wait for your IB to be up. Instead of LIPing I instead Block first to get all mobs on me, I then spam LIP so it goes off the second my IB ends. I then use the 6 seconds of LIP to bunch the mobs and double nova. Yeah, waiting for IB can take a minute or two, but its better than dying.

This is way harder than ZF, rofl. The pull-distances you have to make successfully are insanely hard. I imagine this will take a bit more practice than ZF, which I nailed in a few hours, but one thing that would make this easier would be popping IB at the last stop for the big pull, and as you come out of it immediately pop invulnerability. Haven't tried it yet, but I will.

​@@Suureush Yeah, streamers need views, and I get that, so they kinda pretend it can be a "100%"-sure-fire thing if practiced enough. Now, having boosted a tonne of ZG (and made quite a bit of gold along the way, yes), I can safely say that no one, NO ONE, can pull off a 11-pack ZG-boost 100% successfully across longer periods of time. A lot of things can go wrong that are just out of your control. At the very least you will have to split the pull in two. The RNG in that place is realer than one might think. The pats start out in different places, and you have to circumvent them in ways that go way beyond what the videos show (Gnomish Cloaking Device is something I use to get past the berserker patrol, or popping nifty stopwatch for a greater slow-fall speed, from a lower level on that mountain, to get sufficiently far from the crocodiles to actually make it to the branch again, et cetera et cetera). For this Mara thing anyways, the thing that is probably killing you here is that a mob is stunning you just as you exit IB and are trying to pop LiP. Best thing to do, and what worked 90% of the time for me was leaving IB and immediately blinking, because you can blink out of that stun, THEN pop LiP, run back, and nova them. There are so many mobs hitting you, that the little second you spend trying to pop LiP while stunned, instead of blinking, is enough to kill you. I had to actually read the "What happened to me?" combat-log before I even figured out what was going wrong... Good luck!

@@Suureush Hey just a heads up you like HAVE to cancel the IB aura. If you dont you pretty much die instantly when you come out of iceblock but if you cancel the aura it gives you like 2 seconds of free time to hangout and just be yourself. It completely changed how I felt about the runs. You cancel the aura just by right clicking it at the top of your screen (or maybe some people use macros?). Either way I hope this helps.

The last rock pack is often way at the bottom for me so I can't pull it in time, and then comes back and aggros halfway through the kill. Also should be noted that if you perfectly line up the kill on rock elementals, the shardlings won't get in combat and you save a decent bit of time due to not having to reset.

This is far too difficult to be an efficient leveling strategy from 54-57. The first pull is definitely doable at 54 but i take significantly more damage than Arlaeus coming out of Iceblock and also my CoC will not connect with several mobs even when they are in range. Coming out of the iceblock with approx 800-900 HP and not being able to hit every mob with CoC was just was not working for me so I ended up having to split the first pull into 3 groups (two pulls for the turtles since they reset at distance). The second pull is borderline impossible for me and may due to having 100 ping. If you're not overly experienced with this pull its probably better to find a different strategy since i wasted a huge amount of time trying to do this

This is ridicoulusly difficult for someone not that experienced. I think I burned more time and consumes on trying this then I've ever saved with regular leveling :) Biggest problems are that, although using a cancelaura macro on IB, I take a lot of damage when exiting the block. Further I seem to miss many mobs with the CoC, I can't figure out how you do this. I watched the other video on training it, and there is no problem with 5-10 mobs. Just jumping or strafe jumping. But when it needs to be on point, 1/4 of my pull isn't in snare and I have to take the walk again. But asides my incapability, your material is really good.

This video seems so straight forward. But After 3 hours of dying I've only got the pull down. Every time the kill phase kills me. Not all mobs get slowed, the slow breaks early, the distance I am seems to not be enough and I get mauled. 3 days of trying this and I still can't get it to not murder my mage

Hey Arlaeus, how do you pull off Ice Block + Frost Nova without them all hitting you at once? Whenever I try, the mobs end up forming a circle and hitting at seemingly random intervals so it's not like I can wait for them to hit to exit as they're all hitting continuously. The Borers in the first pull almost always kill me right away even with a macro for exiting block and freezing.

Finding this quite hard at 54, but im a noob so I will keep trying. I dont quite have the timing of the CoC when bunched, up. Think ill practice it more in WPL and then come back at 55. It just feels like im getting hit from a lot farther away than you are.

Any answers for the two problems I've run into attempting to do this? 1. I sometimes get killed coming out of block even through a fresh ice barrier. 2. It seems like I get a large number of COC resists, but it would be more accurate to say that it seems like it's just not hitting mobs? they just don't all get slowed like in the video. Cheers

I'm having the same issue and I blame my Ping for it... most of the time its around 350 - 400.... when its at 130 like at 2 am in the morning then i don't seem to have those issues.

another thing i just thought about: i have bound cancle aura and nova to a mouse button maybe there is to much input lag?

I have the same issue as you. I don't know how he turns off leeway and walks out of a massive pack of mobs taking only 200 damage. I get hit by every mob in the pack. Twice if I strafe out of the block like he did rather than back pedal. I also have the issue you have with CoC not hitting everything and it's because unlike the video, most of the time for me the mobs will fan out in a full 360 circle around my block rather than sitting in a nice little stack on one side. Nothing I have tried is able to replicate the seeming lack of leeway that some mages show in videos, I'm definitely starting to think it is related to something like latency/hardware or maybe race/gender of character.

@@Qwoot lets compare then: Female Gnome yellow Latency (220 - 300) at night i have about 60 - 80 latency and by far not the same issues. Hardware is OP. 9900k Geforce RTX and lots and lots of ram...

so when i try the 2nd half of this run, the mobs are too far away by the time I am ready to pop my LIP. Some trail way behind and don't get there until the potion has faded. Any tips?

how in the living HELL do you get out of iceblock/nova and NOT get DESTROYED by the mobs...I cant seem to live it - i go in with a shield ....wait for the actual ib to fall off then immediately nova and I NEVER live....like seriously...whats the trick to that shit?
