The13:00 hunter clip in particular hurt on a spiritual level - dude didn't wingclip either of them, used his mana potion instead of his health pot, and turned on Monkey despite running away with his back turned instead of strafing. Like watching a flaming dumpster roll down hill, go under a ladder and pass by a black cat.

You could legit build an actual safety course for HC from just compiling commentary on clips like these. Like how they have safety classes for industrial machinery and other jobs with big risk factors that feature footage of actual accidents, since it's just way easier to remember why you should not do something goddamn stupid when you've seen exactly what happens if you do.

06:25 let me just clarify here. that there are 2!!! classes. the hunter. and. the huntard. hunters are by far the best class. able to pick up the slack for most classes in an entire group. huntards are by far the worst class. main ability is using multi shot during a precision pull. or jumping off a ledge while having the pet up.

@@WillyLee23 I've been going back and forth with my boy. There's no Risk/ Reward with Wrath or retail right now. You NEVER risk anything so the games boring. Theres no stakes. Back in the day, the stakes were - you may lose a lockout because your group sucked. Now it doesn't matter. You can just meta and outgear everything. This is why HC is fun, imo. One of many reasons.

Anyways, now Blizzard officially announced official hardcore servers, when you die you won't be able to release spirit. You can still roam the world as a ghost and interact with your friends, but if you die, that's it for your character progression.

I'm a bit rusty on the recollection regarding classic, but isn't it so, that when Morgraine gets summoned, any mobs within a certain radius of him that hasn't been killed, is automatically called to the fight? My memory seems to remember we painstakingly cleared all the mobs around Whitemane and then tanked her and Morgraine right at the altar and not by those doors. So not only did the grp do stupid, they did stupid twice, or was just plain lazy not clearing the trash mobs. Also, seems a lot of these deaths in HC are players being overconfident or not focused enough.

Hardcore shows clearly that higher stakes makes it more interesting. The funny thing is, WoW was widely considered a carebear MMO when it came out because there was no penalty for death other than running back and repairs. Every other MMO until that point had XP loss on death, which could represent hours of grinding lost. Most MMO players today would call that a stupid mechanic that just wastes your time, without understanding what it added to the experience.

A good skill to learn while running away is to time the mob's attacks and jump-face them when their auto attack is back up then spin back around and keep running. Can't get dazed this way and can also dodge/parry.

I don't understand the hard core community in this game. There are too any variables and factors outside of your control to fuck up tens or maybe even over one hundred hours of play time. There's definitely a skill element that I'm not trying to diminish, but raiding with a bunch of people you don't know and expecting it to be flawless reminds me of a quote in one of Barney64's Scarab Lord videos "If you didn't expect this to happen, I don't know what world you're living in."
