Great video! As a Paladin I use this and for me it works wonders: #showtooltip Flash of Light(rank 1) /cast [@mouseover, help, nodead] Flash of Light(rank 1) /cast Flash of Light(rank 1) It could be shorter but I like the explicit wording, just a personal preference. You can mouseover the small target of target frame on the boss if you want to heal your tank. I have this for rank 1, 4 and 6 of Flash of Light and rank 6 and 9 for Holy Light. Also for Cleanse and some other stuff. It prioritises mouseover but if you have nothing under your mouse you cast it as usual, so if you have a target it heals the target, if you don't have a target or your target is hostile it heals yourself instead. I rarely, or never, have a friendly target under my mouse when I need to heal myself, or I just mouseover my own frame just as if I was healing anyone. You have plenty of time during cast and GCD to move the mouse to your next target in the raid frame, like your tank for example.

I made the exact macro for flash heal and it works. replaced flash heal with greater heal(rank 2) and if i have someone targeted it will cast. If I mouseover someone it doesn't. Can't figure out why. its the exact same macro but replacing flash heal with greater heal...lost.

Very nice video Silrace. I found the right-mouse clicking movement most useful to heal yourself while hovering over a friendly target. The last aspect in my mind is: if you are targeting a friend (not hovering over) and still you want to heal yourself without swapping targets, what would you do?

Late reply due to being busy. Healing yourself is really simple, mouse over your own unit bar and cast the heal. If using the default UI then you'll have to do lots of mouse movement to bounce back and forth, but that's the pain with the default UI setup no matter what.

I used Shadowed Unit Frames, with different profile whether I am tanking/healing/dpsing... after all need different info (and different size raid frames) for the different roles.

Personally, I believe it’s better the command "nodead" than "exists"; as you can hover a friendly corpse by mistake. Your friend exists, but he/she's dead. If he/she's "nodead", therefore exists.

Good point, I completely forgot about that, because the macro I personally use has more spells I use with different conditions added, so I forgot to go with 'nodead' for the simplified version.

If you don't type in the rank you'll cast the highest rank of the spell.

Casting damage spells via mouseover works basically same, you simply omit the 'help' and replace it with 'harm' conditional. /cast [@mouseover,harm,exists] Spellnamehere

The macro functions for any healing class after all, just insert the healing spell for the class into it. Healing in general is about mana management, and Shammies have Mana Spring Totem (also Mana Tide Totem if talented for) so they have a bit easier time on that. You simply need to play the healer role a lot to get the experience needed, to figure out when to use what heals. To do some self-promotion here, I healed a lot of the leveling-dungeons as full Shadow spec Priest and recorded them for the channel. You have two /cast Greater Heal(rank 1) in that macro. To get [mod:shift] to work, you need to add [nomod] to the other part of the macro, like this: #showtooltip [nomod] Greater Heal(rank 1); [mod:shift] dmgspell /cast [nomod, @mouseover,help,exists][nomod,help][nomod,@targettarget,help][nomod] Greater Heal(rank 1) /cast [mod:shift] dmgspell Note that the above is 194 out of the allowed 255 maximum characters in a macro, so might run into problems with that if want to make it even more complex. Simple way to mix damage and healing spells into one button is to make a heal/harm macro, like this: #showtooltip [harm] dmgspell; healspell /cast [harm] dmgspell; healspell Macro like this casts damage spell if your target is hostile, otherwise casts heal spell. Not so good for soloing (doesn't cast the heal on you while targeting a hostile mob) but simple and easy to use for dungeons/raids.

@@Silrace Bro, thanks so much for answering and on this ocation I wanna thank you even more for making the video. Your macro improved my gameplay by lightyears (and I love the accent ^^ ). I already solved the problem by just adding a new macro with just the harm spell and added the shift+key under keybindings, took me a while to think of that. BUT: I will try yours as well. I looked everywhere and just couldn't find out where to put the [nomod] [mod:shift] part, damn rocket sience ;) Thanks again and keep it up. Cheers

@@Silrace Oh and yeah, I added the second heal spell in the macro in the end, I think I had to otherwise wenn I was targeting nothing, the spell didn't heal myself, didn't cast anything
