Heads up to be careful with the clump of mobs that will follow you near the end if you decide to end the pulling phase on the right side of the portal. Certain trees have a weird spot where, if mobs walk up on them, will get them stuck and eventually start evading before they reset back to their spawn point. Thank you for the guide. Loving it tons. I'm doing this (although slightly scuffed) on my paladin that has defense cap and about 250 spellpower, but no Figurine or Enigma trinkets. Sometimes I end up having to kite them in a line around the swamp a bit.

I did this from level 66-70...buy a set of "of the champion" greens from the AH (so that you can avoid being dismounted during the pull, as your SP ratio on consecrate is pretty trash for the amount of SP you can get), and start doing it...he means that if you're kiting them around the portal, your gear doesn't matter because you're not getting hit. If you do it at low levels you will end up with some awkward situations where some come around the other side of the portal and you have to kite in a different way to get the mobs to stack up somewhat again. There are other videos about that though, just make sure you have mana pots, swiftness pots, and imo the greater arcane elixir and superior wizard oil are definitely worth investing in as well.

The idea behind this whole farm and the execution is amazing but the market will crash if we do this more than one or two hours per day. Also, you can use Divine Shield after Dabiri/Colossus to have another 12 seconds extra with max rank Consecration then you can use Blessing of Protection after one minute to have 10 seconds extra with max rank of Consecration and then you can finish it off with Dabiri/Colossus/Avenging Wrath practically making the killing phase to be so much easier and faster.

And my guess is that the majority of paladins doing this will not pick up skinning, because that is far too large of an opportunity cost to give up enchanting and JC/engineering as their other two professions.

@@d0k0night The Netherweb market dropped from 10g each at 5g each after me doing this farm for a couple of hours ( i was able to get x120 Netherweb in four hours ). And my realm is the third most populated alliance realms from North America. But what Mister Arlaeus over here forgot to mention is that we get around 50g worth of vendor trash per hour after doing this farm so we can still get up to 300g per hour even if Netherweb drops at 5g each ( the leather sells at 50s each on my realm with me getting at least x10 stacks per hour and there seems to be a very high demand most likely because of leg enchants ). So this farm is actually still pretty good overall being able to make at least 200g+ per hour even if the market crashes. p.s. i was also able to get this design with +8 hit rating that sold for a lot of gold

PSA to anyone thinking of using the sporregar shield with this; don't. The RNG of it can force other mobs into lower hp much quicker than they will with an ordinary shield, messing up the pathing of a large portion of your pull.

Anyone else having issues with the tanking strategy? I seem to be getting absolutely slapped around when I try to...also watching his mana bar, spiritual attunement seems to be proccing off of his figurine, but mine does not do that. For reference, my defense is 22 lower, my avoidance is nearly identical to his, slightly less HP, I use blessing of sanctuary, and do everything else he does. Potential causes: No food buff/stamina elixir (doubt it) My shield is substantially worse than his...18 less block value, I guess that's possibly the reason...not quite sure how block value works, but I think that would all be reflected in the block % on character sheet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Edit: confirmed it was a gear issue.

How far into prot would you go? is getting blessing of sanctuary or holy shield worth it for survivability when mobs connect or should you focus more on getting vengeance 5/5 and maybe Divine Intellect for more mana? since you might be running blessing of wisdom for mp5 anyway. I have been doing this with the 5/5 vengance specc and full spell dmg gear at 66. I just walked trough the dungeon and dealt dmg with immunity+swiftness just 2 seconds before the immunity ended. Might be even more benefical at the dark portal - not even swiftness required due to the jump

Having troubles tanking I have dabiri's, figurine and 475 defence my block is 19% without the trinket popped but that poison seems to procc on me like crazy and i cant keep up with cleansing how is it that you're not getting hit with that poison as much?

It's because the block rating and everything about avoidance, you can notice it when your dabiri's runs out of time (15 secs) and you still have the colossus (20 secs), the poison stacks faster, so if you're having problems, search for items who increase your block rate and watch out whenever the dabiris effect ends I know it's a late answer, but better late than never

I am doing this on 66 paladin, you gotta learn how to kite around the mountain and try to make sure the mobs lose health evenly so that they all go to "slow mode" at the same time. I had some weird results though for exp, crocolisk exp numbers here from mobs dying at the same time: 366 460 1186 430 354 1007 360. So is it true that mobs have to constantly take dmg otherwise exp gets nerfed? And how big is the window of them not taking dmg?

I’ve heard the timer is 30 seconds? But If I were you, I would try my best to throw down rank 1 consecrate on cool down and make sure all the mobs run through it. The timer is definitely a thing though, gotta make sure to damage them at least every 10-15 seconds or else you will get only the xp equal to the ratio of the mobs current health

I tried this strategy many times on my 66 lvl paladin and yet to do a successful run. The problem starts when I'm behind a portal and mobs split into 2 different stacks - 1 coming from the right (like normally) and 1 from the left. I can't outrun the left pack unless I have a bubble cd. If I don't have it - it's a wipe, my speed is not enough to go down the hill for the wider circle either. Swiftness potion helps but only for 1 circle and the next one it's on cd. Do you have a solution what to do when you are behind the portal and 2 packs coming at you from both sides? assuming im not tanky enough to take damage without bubble.

You're jumping down near the center, go directly to the corner to ensure the path is shorter in one direction

@@jr2648 Eventually some will be so much slower that they will always split up, once you see them below 20% it's best to just jump down and run around in very oval circle in the area just northwest of the portal and gradually kill the mobs at this point they are slowed enough for you to continuously outrun them if you take long enough stretches of running in a straight line only gradually turning

Very nice. Tried this without dabri’s and I had to do the kiting only method because I just didn’t heal enough from the figurine. Gonna have to snag that. Also the crusade talent is nice but it doesn’t benefit this farm specifically because the mobs are beasts. Great video! Hoping to get some gains!

I've been able to do this at 68, I have to add a wide circle when the mobs get low and block your circuit. Go straight back and circle to the right and back up the stairs. I cons like 20 yards behind the portal to keep the XP tag. Impossible otherwise from my experience. Approx 8%xp per run

@@SpikedPinapple whats your spellpower? I have about 200 with greens from AH, wizard oil, and elixir. Can definetely do enough damage in a burst phase to bring the rest of the pack to a low enough health where they become very easy to kite. When some start pathing the wrong way, I will pop damage trinket, consecrate, bubble when they ars close to me, dynamite and consecrate again. They will be ticking the whole time. With about 2 seconds left on bubble I start to kite away from portal and do the wide circle around to the front again. They should be slow enough after that 2nd burst phase.

And once they are below 10%, depending on how long the train is, I don't even go up the portal, I just run around it in circles putting cons on the corners

What are the minimum block stats you need for your kill phase? I have some decent gear, not as good as yours, but the moment I stop and pop the trinkets, I get destroyed. 490 defense 14% block. I get annihilated when I stop and pop figurine then Dabiri's. I am tucked tight in that corner so they are not behind me. They just SHRED me.

The most important thing (beside the minimum defense to avoid getting crit, dunno if its around 465) is the block rate, so stack it up, other avoidance stats are good too, but the most important thing is to only tank them with the dabiris effect (15 secs) and the colossus, once the dabiri's stops working, you should keep running, if you tank the entire 20 secs you'll die or at least lose a lot of health

It isn't super hard, you just have to kite around the mountain a bit, with 3/3 Pursuit of Justice you are slightly faster than them

I just tried this. I'm fully raid geared with 490 def, 511 SP, 13.1k life and 22% block chance yet I keep getting obliterated. The mobs keep catching up too me when kiting them around (not they split off and go both directions, they catch up to me and kill me), why?

I just completed this a few days ago in just 2 days of dedicated grinding on it. The most painful part for me was the Dukes. I'm on Sulfuras which is a pretty poplar server and there was nearly zero cultist sets on the AH, so I farmed them all. I didnt get the last duke to spawn that I needed until the 16th duke. I think I was just crazy unlucky. But it did help I guess as I got naturally exalted with CC just by the amount of pages I collected an NPCs i killed to get the sets.

But as far as just the rep, by far the 10 encrypted twilight page turn ins are going to be the best. They give +500 rep per turnin, the pages are easy to farm. The other repeatable quests only give +150 rep per turn in.

Thought it was impossible when I started to do it at 66, died 3 times once they start splitting toward the end. But can do it successfully now and repeatedly. This is what I do. I make sure I have mana potions and use them to try and stay topped off at mana most of the time and will down rank consecrate to 1 and 3 until mana pot is close to being off cooldown again. Mana is big. Then I also make sure to save bubble and dynamite and my spell dmg increase trinket for when they get low and start pathing incorrectly. When this happens, behind the portal, use trinkets, drop consecrate, bubble, dynamite, consecrate to do a 2nd burst phase. This will hopefully kill the ones that were really low and pathing badly as well as take all of the other ones down to a point where every mob is now low and slow. Say 30% or so down to 15% or lower. At this point you can kite them just about anywhere. As bubble is wearing off, I start running back away from portal and kite a big circle to the left (pov looking at the back of portal). There's a little gap between two rocks you can run through and funnel them all through. Drop consecrate in there as you head toward the front of the portal again and repeat. Run up stairs, drop off back and kite back and wide left through the small gap and back up front. Just make sure you are still tagging them with dmg, even a rank 1 consecrate. And again, after the 2nd burst phase you saved for when they do this, they should all be low and slow and just drag them around. Good luck!

As of right now I basically only do two burst phases. once at the beginning to initially stack and burst them and a second time when a few of them get low enough to start pathing the wrong way and cutting you off. Once you really get it down, you may be able to squeeze in a third for speed, but I'm not sure. To me, 2 burst phases is fine and making sure I have bubble, dmg trinkets, dynamite for 2nd time is huge to doing successfully. Otherwise, you won't live long if you have ones cutting you off and the rest still running almost full speed. 2nd burst is entirely to eliminate the low ones and bring the rest of the pack to really low and slow. Even if this way causes each run to take a minute or two longer, its still really fast for the level range and nothing slows you down more than trying to speed up every aspect of it and taking unnecessary risk and dying. That's a waste of 15 minutes at least. I'm getting about 70-75k xp per run (non-rested) with around 120 mobs or so and doing it in about 18-22 min. per run including the initial round up. This is about 220k xp/hr and just over 3 hrs/level rate. This is still much faster than questing or dungeon spamming in my opinion, especially as a paladin when it comes to questing. And this is at level 66. Also, I have done it successfully only like 5 times now, but all in a row. As I continue to do it, I'm sure I will be able to trim off time during the round up and kill phases as I get more comfortable. I also have 450 defense (you only need 445 not 465 as he stated to not get dazed) and around 200 spell power with gear, wizard oil, elixir. Auction house is great for getting greens with high defense or SP.

Looking back tho, on the one pull I did kill them I had to do some extra kiting at the end when they were all slow like you mentioned. I think the big key here that im missing is timing the 2ND burst phase correctly. I think I was trying to do it too early and then only 70% of the would be slow not 100%. I do agree it become pretty easy once they are all slow. My biggest issue is HALF will be slow, go around to the left,and cut me off. With my gear I can only handle 3-5, not more. I have no where near the defense you have tho. Im holy main. Hmm. I'll keep trying today. Really want to do level this way from 66-70.

@@JamesPeacock I totally feel you. Once I saw this, I was really hoping it was something I could reliably do to 70 as questing and dungeoning with pugs is terribly slow it feels like. If you can afford to respec and grab some greens off AH it could help but not totally necessary, except pursuit of justice in the ret tree is big. The defense is really just for not getting dazed while rounding them up. if you have that down, then don't worry about it. Don't get discouraged, it can definitely be done reliably. I really think bursting them down the 2nd time is what solidified it for me. I always made sure I had at least 50% mana, bubble, dynamite, spell dmg trinket ready to go for when I saw them start to go the wrong the way. Once the mobs looked like they were at maybe 40% or so, instead of just hopping down and standing a bit to right like he shows, I actually went around that right corner a bit to try and encourage the mobs to come that way. got to be able to turn around run away quick though as soon as you see them about to turn that first corner though. this seemed to helped get them to go the right away a bit longer (I think, might just be in my head lol). but yeah if I notice its only like 1-3 crocs pathing the wrong way, ill try and run through them (rank 1 holy shield helps if you got it) and continue the normal route for at least 1 more pass. I can't handle more than 3-5 mobs either. If I see that its 4+ mobs then I just stand in the middle of the back of the portal, in between all the mobs coming from each direction, consecrate (if I have time for a global until they reach me), then bubble, they should be taking dmg now from consecrate, then dynamite them and re-consecrate again. With about 2 seconds left on bubble I start running away from the back of the portal and kite them the wide left path through the bottleneck spot and around the front again. repeat. With the 2nd burst phase I really aim to get the rest of the pack low enough to where I can outrun their movement speed. Then its just clean up, keeping up tags on them to ensure I don't lose xp. You got it. Give it a couple more tries and report back. Maybe if you still can't quite get it, ill add you and show you in discord or something! I really want people to be able to do this for leveling cause I know how rough 66-70 feels, at least for me lol :)

So I spent some time adjusting my gear to figure this out. Ultimately I had to increase my block value to above 159 in order to reduce the number of ebon stacks. This helped a lot with the burn phase and maintaining mana over the course of a kill. Managed to do a run in 15 mins in a standard hc spec. Farm is quite good with skinning, without it.. probably not worthwhile

Yeah these poisons instakill me.... in the whole "righteous armor" set, the same aoe build as you, 11000 armor, 480 defense, 18.5% block. Once I get them down to the 30% and their pathing starts to mess up, theres almost no recovery for me since you're only fast enough to kite slowed mobs. And cleanse can only do so much against 8 poisons triggered on you hitting you at a total of about +800dps Any suggestions or alternatives for the kill phase?

Hi man! Solution for you, stop dmg at 40% of their hp.. and go insta kill phase with all cd, bcs if you pull alot mobs and they split at 30% you are almost always dead

Maybe I got unlucky but full pull, barely missed looting 3 or 4 mobs and all the trash was worth 6g and I got 1 green worth 5. Skinning was decent but HKL is only 1.9 to 2g on my server. Have to pull really hard to hit 100g/hr out of this place.

Sorry to potentially necro a dead thread here, but I just started learning this path today. It went rather poorly. I keep doing just find until some of them hit that 20% threshold. Then, as I'm trying to manage to get to a burst phase, the monsters desync and kill me. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, though I do know my spell power is rather low. Could low spell power be the reason I can't manage the moment more than 2 or 3 monsters hit 20%?

Threashold is 25% so you want to watch them as they get close to that. I kite around using rank one concecration until they are at 27% and then kill phase. That kicks them all down below that 25% for sure and then I have more control with the entire group moving slow. If you are doing this at 66 that is doable, thats when I started farming it. You probably dont have enough SP to do what he does and once they get really low you are out of CDs and mana. At that point I had to start kiting the group out around the NW or NE side of the portal around the large rocks and back to the stairs. Then drop your concencration and drop off the back and repeat that large circle kite if needed until they are dead. If the group splits between the sides while they are slow you need to jump off the back and go straight back to the back wall of the dungeon and then kite in a large circle either east or west back around to the stairs and repeat until dead.

anyone doing this at 66 - iv managed it fairly consistently with 400 spell power 6.5k hp, 6.5k mana. im prot but honestly i actually think holy would be better. 100-120 mobs roughly 55-60k exp / run 12min clears but 20mins with looting/skinning. ill bubble @ the start of KP to group them and get a bit of burst in and once they start spliting up @ 25% ill get another burst phase in then just do a longer loop dropping low rank cons around. id forget about the portal drop at this point because your never going to get them all on it. so just do loops and get them as grouped as you can and just keep ticking away. every now and then a run get fooked by a demount daze which you can avoid by getting 445 defence if you want..but i went with the high risk fast reward strat.

best route is after you entered the swamp go right hug the wall. make 2 full circles same spot. dont pull second time let the train of mobs do the pulling for you, just circle twice. takes like 6 minuts to do. then kill them shit.

I was doing this farm for a while but honestly I had to quit doing it because of how tilting a wipe can be based on no fault of your own. I'd say its about 50/50 as to whether the mobs die at seemingly equal rates or if they somehow manage to melee leeway hit you despite being around the corner or already on the ground from the back. The money from it was solid but I'm not a fan of any aoe farm that requires 5 to 10 mins of repeating the same gathering process if you mess up. Also the rate of poison application debuff is completely random, I've seen having 2 poison debuffs on me after a colossus block phase and other times ending up with 10, which can be problem because at that many you have to dispel them immediately or die in the next 8 secs. I honestly prefer the outdoor SMV aoe pulls or the Strat + rocket boot pulls over this because there's way less variance due to no slowing of mobs at different hp amounts.

Your comment's a bit old, but I agree with you on the tilt/repetitive motions. After 3 runs I feel bored. I've done this a fair share now, but it is in fact your/our own fault. If you have Sanctity on or Ret aura, you will deal uneven damage simply gathering them up. One mob is going to have lower HP than the rest almost every time due to parry haste. If you know your damage % of their health, you need to push them from whatever they have to < 25% each. Due to the tick rate on consecrate and mob pathing, I find myself with some mobs 10% lower than others for example, and I need to make laps around without dropping spells until I have cooldowns to push the higher HP mobs to 25% so they are slowed as well.

Hey, today I tried to make a run on 70 lvl, 500 g per hour does not work out in any way, skin for 1 run comes out x50, 7-10 cobwebs and trash a little, I tried to dise things, but in most cases it is better to sell to a merchant, in general 1 run was 11 minutes + 3-4 minutes to collect loot and leather. well 250 gold can be made per hour, but not 500. If I'm doing something wrong, tell me, and what is more profitable Stratholme or black morass?

Hey Arlaeus! Awesome video, just tried this out on my 68 pally and was able to do it after 2 wipes. Quick question, how does the xp diminish work while solo dungeoning again? I only received about 78xp from each mob after killing them all, does it have to do with me dying multiple times, or was I not dealing damage as consistently during the kill phase? Thanks!

Dunno if you still need the help, but the most important thing to avoid getting that much poisons stacks it's increasing up your block rate (the other avoidance stats helps too) and having dabiri's and colossus (watch out because the dabiri's has only 15 secs effects while the colossus have 20, but you'll die or almost lose a lot of your health so only tank them 15 secs and keep running)

If you dont loot a mob it despawns after 5 mins if you loot a mob and it cannot be skinned.... it despawns after 2 mins you can wait 4 mins to loot a mob then having 5 mins after looting to skin said mob...

My only thought on Petrified Lichen is that the RNG proc damage it does will stagger up your pull and cause more mobs to be at a lower hp value earlier than others, resulting in getting boxed in as you run around.
