Just WOW! The Atlas surprised me on the lanes with how well it continued through the pins consistently from every angle. That is not something you typically see from a high end solid asymmetrical ball. Very special.
With the help of SPECTO data, it'll help tell the story about reaction shape, overall hook and continuation through the pins. Here are the SPECTO data points used and definition of each term:
Ball Speed - Speed measured off the hand.
Rev Rate - Revolutions Per Minute (RPM)
Launch Angle - The angle the ball traveled the first 10 feet.
Break Point Position - Board at which the ball was at its outermost position.
Total Hook - Total number of boards the ball crosses on the way to the pins.
Hook Power - Number of boards the ball hooked based on the True Breakpoint.
Entry Angle - The angle of the ball between 51 and 55 feet.
Impact Angle - The angle of the ball between 57 and 59.5 feet.
Pin Deck Exit - Ball position at the end of the pin deck.
The Columbia 300 Atlas is available starting 07.13.2023.

That ball is insane! It just wants to finish strong the deeper you got!!! Something to seriously consider! Thanks Nick!

What's not to like? Columbia 300 has some awesome releases lately, and I hope they get rewarded by the bowling customers for their excellent products.

I like what I’m seeing. I’m looking for a replacement for my Gem which I don’t match up with. I also like the Track Archetype.

The core reminds me of the resurgence core; a modified version of it. However, I might be tempted to give the ball less surface (4000) if playing right of center. I noticed a lot of deflection on half pocket hits, even when the 10-pin got kicked out. These shots occurred when you were right of center at the arrows. Less surface might help when playing the lanes this way. Thanks for the review!

Lane 2 is notorious for having kind of a bad rack sometimes. You don’t see a lot of light mixers or half pockets carry because the 1-3 pocket is a little off. In a lot of videos I’ll even take a re rack.

Mr. Throwbot, what is your target on the lane? Enjoying all your videos and it keeps me throwing all brands of balls. Probably even more towards Brunswick brands because of price. Keep 'em coming. Looking forward to the Quantum Evo Asym Hybrid and Katana Strike. :)

How would you compare the Atlas to the Track Archetype and Track Paragon Solid?
@brunsnick
@brunsnick Жыл бұрын
Seems a touch cleaner than the archetype, maybe not as aggressive but similar motion. Haven’t thrown paragon but should be cleaner more flip.

The last 2 shots Look really good. Bp 7, Ea 3.73, Ia 7.59 Split 8/9. What layout, same lane conditions, that ball if possible, bp 9-12, Entry angle 3-4, Impact angle 3-5 Split 8/9?
@brunsnick
@brunsnick Жыл бұрын
Likely not probable to happen. You need more impact angle to split the 8-9 consistently. If the impact angle is too close to the entry angle, it’s generally rolling forward at the pocket.

That shot to the 3 board wasn't out the window...it was out the door. Usually when that happens I try to reel it in with an imaginary fishing rod.
@vance836
@vance836 Жыл бұрын
I think the big difference is the fact the RG is a little higher that most high end asyms and I like the direction the companies are going in with this (similar to the new Hellcat XLR8). IMO, and I could be wrong; but I think if you have high end asyms that are more 2.47/.054/.016; it makes them not as versatile unless the covers are really clean for the first 25 feet or so. Take the Speed for instance. Same cover as the Atlas yet not sure the Speed would be as good as the Atlas playing 4th-5th arrow.

never drill pin down, you are removing part of the core you paid for.

@@greenmachine6146 That is just incorrect. Pin down actually removes less of the core.

I'm a Columbia 300 guy. I wasn't too keen on the speed, but this looks awesome. The first few shots you threw, the down and in one's, is the exact line I play. Loved the roll and reaction on this one.

I’ve been waiting for you with this ball. 0:40 4:35 grabbed it didn’t look bad,Nick! Hey BN, what do you think about this ball being hit with a 5k TCP and then a compound polish on top like a hybrid since it looks like it takes off no matter where your at. 9:41 Damn Man 25 to 7 bang, this ball is awesome. Last Q the core looks great and the top of it would that be like a flip core? Thank BN for another awesome video
