Hey Nick with today's times of bowling centers only oiling lanes for league night, how about a video on some couple day old lane conditions with high traffic? All these balls look good on fresh oil but in the real world it's a different story. Ball recommendations?

Interesting. I'm just getting back into bowling after over 40 years of having been in a league. I always used a 10 pd ball drilled to my incorrect way of holding the ball. No one ever told me what fingers to use when I started bowling big pin so I used what felt comfortable, my thumb and next two fingers. I had a 165 average back then but now, I can't seem to do anything right. The ball feels too heavy for me. Perhaps it's because I broke my wrist and have lost a lot of strength at 78 years of age so I just bought an 8 pd ball. Bowled one game with it and didn't even get 100. I am getting lots of 9s on my first ball but can't make the spares and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm a straight ball thrower. Never learned how to curve the ball and just always did good throwing a straight ball. Do you have any videos with tips on throwing straight balls?

I used to bowl on a 35 foot house shot on 50 year old wood lanes. I tried to apply the rule of 31, that would put the ball on the 4 board. There was so much early hook it was impossible play out there

This video right here shows the true value of the Black Widow line. Fairly significant price difference yet essentially covers the same amount of boards though in a slightly different way. I could see going with both of these but taking the cover on the Effect down to 3000 just to create a little more separation.

I had the exact same results after throwing the effect for 3 seasons. The mania looks more controlled and consistent. Also, the Mania looks like Spiderman 2099! ❤

The Mania shape looks closer to the vaporize. Clean and smooth. The effect revs up a bit sooner. In my opinion.

Love all of you stuff , great job I was wondering if you could go over your effortless release. You have good rev rate , axis rotation and can play all parts of the lane but it don’t look like you have as complicated release as the YO Yo Thanks !

I will stick with the Effect. I almost sold my Effect. It wasn't doing crap for me. I decided after your abralon pad video to hit with a 1000 pad. Been keeping the 1000 on it for 3 weeks now and haven't shot under 630 with it. So glad I got the confidence to try the pad. Also, two other league mates had the same issue.

I drilled my Mania the exact same as my Effect. I honestly hate the Mania… hate it until the lanes are amost bone dry that is. So like game 3 the Mania can come out and give me some real aggressive snapping off the line and heavy pocket hits.. I’m sure it’s based off of my play style but overall I think the Effect is probably the 2nd best and most versatile ball in any lane conditions I’ve thrown after the 2.0. I could throw my Effect all 3 games of league if I wanted. P.S. I commented this literally right before you said what you said about the balls on fresh and dry lol.

shot league tonight with the Effect tough pair for me anyway thru 12 in the pocket and left 5 single pins. Finished the night over my average over all so it was a good night. I do really like the Effect. I have never owned a widow but after this video I may be in the market for one. Keep up the great videos.

on this house pattern my ball speed at the pins is 13 mph? would the mania not work for me?

I really thank you for these two balls this made my decision and it’s the BW mania, the difference for me was the cores are different and BW, showed to me a more responsive off dry or in the oil more so of the effect. Thank you Nick for these comparisons

Hi, my son bowls youth league and I’m trying to use surface to have his Burnswick twist read earlier. I hit it was 3000 and it didn’t do much if anything. Should I hit it was lower grade grit to get it to read earlier?

great comparison video! Question, I recently drilled an older ball of mine to experiment with a Sarge Easter grip like your own but have yet to try it out myself. I’m thinking it may increase rev rate and allow me to hold flatter in my palm which hopefully will help me stay inside of it and stay more cupped. Is that the purpose of that grip? thank you

If I didn’t own the Effect and Effect Tour already I would get the Mania. Right now I keep the Effect and the Widow 2.0 Hybrid in my bag along with either a Hazmat, Scorpion LowFlare or an Arctic Vibe.
