The scoring in the early 2000s was even worst hence why the NBA made all these rules to speed up the game. @@luistorres6956exactly! It's like with NFL wide receivers. Justin Jefferson averages more yards per game receiving than Randy Moss yet he's not even close to being as dominant as Randy Moss. I'm more impressed with players scoring 20 back in the '90s and 2000s because they actually had to earn those 20 points per game. You can literally fall out the bed in this era and score 20 points per game because there's no defense and guys shoot 10 + 3s regularly even though they might only hit 35% of those threes they still have a green light. Imagine giving a green light to Reggie Miller in an era where dudes don't even pride themselves in playing defense. Man Reggie would have them boys gassed on defense and he'd be pulling from 30 ft regularly if he was playing in this soft era. There's not one player in today's era that could chase Reggie around for 40+ minutes. Theres none of the hand fighting that they had back in the '90s and 2000s. There's no physical bigs anymore. You wouldn't even need to run Reggie off a bunch of screens because these dudes don't even play defense so Reggie could literally stand at the three-point line, catch a pass from the point guard and pull from 25 to 30 ft and hit at least 45% of those threes.

Ray Allen & Reggie Miller Were Way More Clutch From 3 Than Steph. I Still Have Them 1 & 2✌🏽

Yeah, this guy Klay is gone 100%; he's always been envious of Curry, his father Michael Thompson put that in him .... Remember when they were winning in 2014-15 and Steph won the 3-point shooting contest then in 2015-16 Thompson was talking about how his father wouldn't let him back in the house unless he beat Steph. Thompson could never come through in game-winning pressure situations, he was too stiff as a player -- Thompson is gone and he's a has-been still good but he's done.

For the creator of the video. The statement you make at 12:30 is telling. Yes, Reggie Miller, who I watched in his prime, would now finally have the green light to shoot 8, 9, 10, 11 three point shots a game.... BECAUSE the greatest shooter ever, Steph Curry has been instrumental in the entire league changing to play more like him. That kind of ends the debate IMO.

I haven't watched the video yet but some of y'all in these comments are goofy acting like Steph has it "easier" than Reggie did. Tell me you don't watch Steph Curry without telling me. Steph Curry is only ever open after running half a mile through screens. Dude is guarded from half court, and has easily the highest degree of difficulty in his average attempt than anyone, and still has a career .425 3P% compared to Reggie's .395. Steph Curry is the greatest shooter in league history and it's not really particularly close. Can you imagine what kind of numbers Steph could put up if he was like most high volume 3 point shooters in history and most of his attempts were catch and shoot? No, you can't because nobody would ever leave Steph Curry alone ANYWHERE to just catch and shoot, not even from 30 feet.

I respect all the legends of the game, even Reggie, who, I'll be honest, I hated as a Knick fan because he used to kill us in the playoffs and relished in doing it. With that said, I have to disagree with Klay. Steph is just on another stratosphere with his shooting. When he passed up Ray Allen as the all time 3pt leader, that closed the argument for me. Not to mention, Steph had better handles and could shoot off the dribble. Reggie needed 100 screens set for him to free him up to take those threes. His handle was suspect. But maybe Klay was showing respect to the greats 🤷🏾♂️.

Klay seems like he gets more emo / simpish the older he gets. reggie was a great off the ball off balance shot maker. if he had the same volume he'd be right up there with the top scorers today. in terms of the all time great hoisters, yes the numbers matter, but peak Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf imo is on that periphery

Not a diss. Reggie hit more clutch shots then Steph. Not Currrys fault. Reggie s played in a more competitive era and more games came down big shots

Steph in his sleep is 5 times better than Reggie Miller on his best day, yeah Reggie Miller could shoot, however he ain't seeing Steph curry, Reggie was Good, however Steph is great big difference and i go back with Reggie and IMO, Cheryl Miller was the best Miller in the Miller household and Klay sore because of getting dissed by Golden state

Also, they need to start calling out Steph as well for struggling to get his team to the playoffs without a super team. Warriors missed the playoffs last season. Now after starting off hot with so called dominant defense, they have fallen to a 10th seed. Heck, I will take a prime ray Allen and dale Ellie over Steph. Let those cats have no hand checking along with a freedom of movement rule and the freedom to shoot 8-10 plus threes like Steph and see what numbers they put up in the three point record book.. smh

BINGO STEPH just a volume shooter nothing more 1400 more attempts than Ray Allen and ahead of him by 700 3's sothis isn't rocket science he just shoot a lot but he only has scored 23k pointswhich is not impressive not even top 10 in scoring lololol
@austinburwell583420 күн бұрын
@@philminor233 i agree Steph shooting more 4s isn’t impressive like Ray Allen and Reggie could’ve also average 30ppg on 50/40/90 if they wanted too

@@austinburwell5834 2013 they wasnt in the finals. 2014, Kevin love and Kyrie was out for the series. 2016, they lost with Kyrie and Klove there, they got the chip back by adding KD. 2020-21 they missed the playoffs, 2022-23 they only won 44 games. Last season they missed the playoffs, this season right now they are a 10th seed. So without a super team..has this team got the finals regularly compared to 8-10 years ago? No. Now give them credit for the chip in 2021-22. But even Steve Kerr said that championship run, he was surprised they made it there due to a lot of issues they had as a team. but the very nexr season they struggled to win 44 games and was given up 117 ppg while on defense while scoring 118. Just a 1 point differential. Than last season, they miss the playoffs. And this year they are faltering again right now. We cant sit here and say that most of stephs championships came from a superteam. Im not a lebron fan, but if Kyrie and KLove was there in 2014-15..I dont think the warriors beat them. Which is why the Cavs going into the next season, 2015-16, was picked to get to the finals and win. Because they saw that the cavs was without Kyrie after game 1 and was without Love the whole series. If the warriors didnt get KD, can you really say they beat the cavs in 2016-2017 looking back at that series? Kyrie was averaging alsmost 30 a game. And KD was the difference in those key games with the clutch shots. He brought a versatile scoring element to the offense that they never had. So it is what it is.

I think people over exaggerates shooting because I would take miller over curry to win the game curry is zero for 13 in the clutch in the playoffs and Reggie was a better shooter to win the game at the buzzer than curry but overall curry is the greatest shooter even though in the playoffs his percentages dropped from 42 percent to 39 percent in the playoffs and finals
