Lovely reaction! Dimash sings in 12 languages; he speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, plus reasonable English and a smattering of Mandarin .... ‘Wo ai ni’ (sp?) is Mandarin for ‘I love you’. At the very end after he bowed, Dimash started off speaking in Kazakh and said ‘Thank you very much’ (then something else) ....and then switched to Mandarin, saying ‘Thank you very much’, ‘Thank you very much, China’, ’I love you’, ‘Thank you so much, I am Singer’ (the tv show), ‘Maestro, thank you’.

Another beautiful reaction by a beautiful human being. Dimash's rendition of "Hello" was a guest performance on "I am a Singer 2018"; he was not competing. At the end of the second verse, Dimash sang "I love you" in Mandarin ("Wo ai ni") to the Chinese audience, and again in the third verse, adding "I love you" in Kazakh, before whispering "Thank you" in Mandarin at the end. Dimash beautifully incorporates Middle Eastern (Armenian, Turkish, Arabic, Azerbaijanian, Kazakh) runs in the song. This is my favorite rendition of the song; even better than the original in my humble opinion. By the way, he did not say "I am single" (lol). He said "I am Singer", which is the name of the show.

He says "I Am Singer" at the end when he is taking his bows, and thanking the musicians. That is the name of the show--he was invited back as a guest singer after placing 2nd the year before. It is a competition for professional well-known Chinese performers--Dimash was the first foreigner and the youngest to ever be invited and was considered a sort of dark horse candidate. Many of the faces this video shows watching the performance are other competitors, both for that year and for the one before. The (I don't know how to spell it) part that is in the place of the English "I love you" is Mandarin saying the same thing. At the end, he says "I love you" in Mandarin and then at least part of the following is in Kazakh.

I love the Dimash version of Hello. He uses a very different instrumentation than Lionel Richie and uses Kazakh ethnic sounds and instruments. You’re right in acknowledging the composer though. Without the original song, we could not hear the magical interpretation of Dimash. Loved your reaction and appreciated the playbacks.

For those who love Dimash, another must see singer is Zhou Shen from China. Because of his small stature, feminine disposition and voice, he was often bullied in school. Never thinking that he had what it takes to be a singer, he went to the Ukraine to become a dentist. While there, he was convinced that he did have a great singing ability, thus transferred his major to music. Thank goodness he did. As an introduction into Zhou "Charlie" Shen, begin with his premiere performance on the Voice of China singing HuanYan. After this first video, move on to his versions of "Memory", and "Time to Say Goodbye". For something different from him, watch his version of "Ring the Doorbell", "Let It Go" and "Monsters". Last, but definitely not least (there is so much more from him), enjoy the videos, "This is Me" and a very unique and fun song (one of my favs) "Da La Beng Ba". His biggest success is the song "Big Fish". Another singer that is highly rated is Hua Chenyu. Hua was performing on The Singer at the same time Dimash was being introduced to the world on that show. I have a recommendation list, but it is not really in any particular order. "Numchucks", "Child", I am what I am", "Fake Monk", "Friend", and "Dad, I'm Home". With the song, "Dad, I'm Home", it is one of the saddest songs developed. Mind you, Hua Chenyu is a very unique artist doing his own thing. You never really know what you are going to get with each of his songs. Neither Zhou Shen or Hua Chenyu are the full package that Dimash displays, but they are both unique and special with their skills.

The flute is a Sybyzgy a Kazakh side blown flute, a very ancient instrument from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 At the end he says I love you in both Mandarin and Kazakh and he thanked everyone as well as saying I am Singer which is the name of the show 💖

Okay, admittedly, I thought this was going to be a cheesy version of Lionel's song, the way it started off. Then my ears perked up when that flute started, and I had a good feeling it was about to get real good. For a moment the flute had all my attention! And then Dimash came out of nowhere with his vocals that had a lot of Arabic nuances added this time. I absolutely loved it!!! Totally different from Lionel's song, and everything I expected from Dimash! Thanks for your reaction, Royce. Loved that as always!
