For me, this is simply one of the most beautiful and haunting songs ever recorded. The obvious meaning is that this is a song about that moment in the exhausted afterglow "Making love with you has left me peaceful, warm and tired..." However the song takes on a whole new meaning, forever, if you ever hear it played in connection with a funeral. "Sleep, silent angel..."

@@BillGraper Graham Nash was a dominant singer during those 60s pop hits. Clarke was a founder with him and definitely sang some good leads but Graham was the engine during those mid 60s songs. Clarke's pop prominence (in the US at least) didn't really occur until after Nash left in '68 (and join David Crosby, and Stephen Stills). That's when HE ANIT HEAVY and LONG COOL WOMAN, etc etc followed. By then he was their main voice and only lead singer. Funny, that Nash left because he felt the group was far too pop sounding, but some those Clarke songs that followed his departure were pretty deep.

Love the reaction, as always. And you MUST react to "He Ain't Heavy (He's My Brother)". It's a great song, and so appropriate for our times, too.

Absolutely love this song!! One of my favourites. It's so beautiful and I'm in awe how he can hold that one note for so long, then go up another octave! 😍👍👍👍

Memories of hearing these songs on the A M radio in the car as a kid. Top 40

The entire Distant Light album (which includes "Long Cool Woman ...") is fantastic, beginning to end. There aren't a lot of hits that people would recognize so probably not great for a reaction video, but I strongly recommend that y'all give it a listen. Also, the Hollies covered several years and styles. If you do some of their early stuff like "Bus Stop" you might be surprised.

The Hollies and the Beatles recorded much of their music in adjacent studios at the same time. EMI-I and EMI-II(later called Abbey Road). They shared quite a bit of musical experience and often listened in to each other’s sessions.
