Laura Nyro is one of those people who get overlooked when we look back at the 60s. She did great recordings of her own songs like Eli's Coming, And When I Die, and Stoned Soul Picnic (you've already done Wedding Bell Blues one of her best.) I especially like "Save The Country." Three Dog Night got some grief for not writing their own material, but they thereby brought some great writers to the spotlight like Randy Newman, Harry Nilsson, Hoyt Axton, B.W. Stevenson, and Laura Nyro.

Oooooh I've asked for this one before & am so pleased you finally got to it! An iconic 3 Dog Night tune, written by Nyro & made famous by this band. It just plain kicks tail. I agree, Jay. This band had it all and gave us a varied collection of great hits. They deserve to be in the R&R HOF but probably never will be. We boomers have our own HOF though. Cannot take that away. Another arse kicker is Mama Told Me Not To Come, written by the crazy wonderful Randy Newman. The lyrics are clever ("Want some whiskey in your water? Sugar in your tea?") and the melody bangs. Thanks & be blessed ❤
