Your shelf looks amazing! You did a great job. I mentioned before that we downsized after 26 years and got rid of so much. During that time I found several little bits and pieces that just made me smile when I held them. A rock my daughter gave me when she was 5 when we were in park on a play date. An earring that belonged to my mom that is missing the mate. A little toy figure that my other daughter would hide in my purse so she had something to play with when we waited for a doctor or dentist appointment. Stuff like that I put into a decorative box and have on my dresser now. It’s slammed full of little treasures that I couldn’t let go of. Maybe that is something you could do with some of those things that you come across. Things you don’t really want on display but just don’t have the heart to let go. Maybe you have 2or 3 or more boxes like that, and over time you may find it easier to let more go. Finding what works for you is best. Don’t rush through and regret your choices! I’m 65,I started using permanent hair dye when I was thirty years old and continued until age 47. By that time I had to color my hair every three weeks and was tired of doing it.I asked my husband if he would mind if I stopped because I was still young,and he said,”Go ahead,I’ll just call you my silver fox!” 🤭 My hair is actually TOTALLY silver white and I get a lot of compliments,even from strangers,so there’s no turning back. I know that it makes me look older so I don’t regret coloring over the random gray in my thirties and forties,but now like you said,I’ve earned it and it’s my badge of honor!😅😂🤣

During the pandemic, my gray hair came brown again. Now at almost 50 I only have some gray on the underside. I had stopped coloring my hair in my 30s, but my brown hair looks still looks odd to me!

Sounds lovely. I asked my husband about it as well. Women feel like they should hide their age and look younger all the time. The sides of my hair by my ears are really grey!

The shelves look so much better and you notice your treasures more as they are not all cluttered together . On my mountain of washing which never ends but still its getting done , Was watching another youtuber the other day and she was organising a friends bedroom and using items from different rooms to style it . Got me thinking of ways to use furniture and items in different rooms .

The shelf looks more organized and tidier. Good job! Some years ago, I discovered that if I place items I am unsure about getting rid of in my charity box and don't get them back out after 6 months, I can safely donate. When I go to drop them off at one of the charities, I don't look through the box. I have never missed the item(s) and have never had to go out and replace them. I am a big reader, and when I moved, I got rid of several boxes of books. Some I had never read. No regrets. Told myself that I could easily go to the library and check it out to read. Have never done that as I found other books I preferred to read instead.

If you haven’t held your sale already,this is the perfect time to look at EVERY shelf and cupboard and say,”What can I get rid of and sell”. I had a yard sale in the middle of May,so from May 1st and onward,I went around with this mindset,getting rid of bakeware,etc. It was actually VERY motivating and also let me off the hook (temporarily) from doing things like sorting and filing papers,photographs,etc. and anything else that would not be for sale! We are now approaching a ten day heat wave,so I will stay inside the air conditioning and sort papers a month later. I ended up selling a lot of things that I just don’t use anymore and made a few hundred dollars in the process!!!!🙌🏻🎉🙌🏻

I color my hair. I’m 62 and do not like my white hair. I have very fine hair and I look bald when it’s getting white. My daughter is a hairstylist so she does it every 5 weeks. I guess I’m vain in that respect,lol. The shelf looks really good!!

Oh Emma, you made it look so cute! I love it! My house and my kitchen are very small. My kitchen is a lot smaller than yours and not much counter or cabinet space. No room for a dishwasher and I have no pantry. My fridge is in the dinning room, no room for one in the kitchen. My kitchen is called a gally kitchen. I know what you mean about your friends house, some houses in the US are huge as well as the yards. My house is only 1185 square feet. My property is 160 feet by 60 feet. From front to back. Oh the comment on your hair, your hair looks strawberry blonde, Beautiful. Myself and my eldest son are redheads, my daughter and my youngest son have dark brown hair.
