Agree with Roxy, money is tight for a lot of people (gas, food, rent etc), and the audiance who used to go to the movies twice a month, might only now go once every 2-3 months. This means the audiance will instead save their money until a movie comes out that feels like an event like Deadpool, over the likes of Fall Guy.

It wouldn't be that way if orange man was elected. It's because "they" stopped drilling oil here in America and print out billions to send to Ukraine and Israel. Every time they do that the value of the dollar gets worse and worse. If things don't change this election everyone is screwed

The main reason I don’t personally go to as many movies nowadays is because I know it’s gonna be available on digital in like a month, sometimes less. Back in the day, if you missed a movie in theater, you wouldn’t be able to see that movie at home for like 6 months.

I’ve kind of grown annoyed at people who say we need original then when Hollywood does an original movie it bombs cuz those same people don’t see it lol.
@khalled24194 ай бұрын
You need to convince them to come see the movie and that’s with good marketing. Making an original film is just part of the battle.

How do you know those same people are not seeing the original movies you say they are crying for?
@ZachBobBob4 ай бұрын
@@slugerama Because those people are the general audience, and if a movie bombs because its the general audience didn't show up. The only people that moan about there not being enough original movies don't go to the movies because if they did they were know that there are PLENTY of original movies coming out already.

The reason why I trust Peter Jackson is obviously LOTR trilogy and reason more after The Hobbit movies, they released Blu Ray where he himself said ‘’Well it just didn’t go as planned, I didn’t have much time in preproduction’’. Where he earned my respect so much more. He is not too proud to say as Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams ‘’no, everything is great, everything turned out as we hoped for, everybody love it’’. He learned on his mistakes, and I hope studio learned also not to rush. In PJ I trust!!!!
@joshhudson74134 ай бұрын
Peter knows the hobbit was a travesty, and I still loved the movies. Give him the proper pre production time and he'll make bangers. He knows this world, and actually respects the lore rather than rings of power

56:54 - hit the nail on the head. When I was a teenager in the late 90s and early 2000s, I would love going out to the movies almost every month with family or friends. It feels like teenagers now prefer to stay at home much more on the phones or playing video games than going out. Of course video games existied 25 years ago, but they were not as engrossing or had the same reach as today.

@bajansamurai4 ай бұрын
Great points about movie going. There are multiple factors leading to the cumulative outcome: There used to be 60 movies a year with maybe 20 doing great and 20 doing ok; that's not going to necessarily translate to 40 doing great and 40 doing ok just because 120 started coming out, much less, 180, we may just get 30/40/50 then 30/40/110. Then there's not as long a wait for most of them to be caught on streaming, so people are going to be selective (especially to justify keeping their streaming service with prices going up). For those who don't have a lot of disposable funds for entertainment, they're going to be selective.

My concern for the hunt for Gollum , is what are the stakes for this movie? We know from the of the fellowship of the ring that Gandolf does not find Gollum and he instead gets captured by Sauron. So we already know what is going to happen. Also, there is an expectation from the audiance, that a Lord of the rings movie has big action and a huge sprawling story. I dont know how they will achive this from the plot details we have.

people need to seriously stop using the "everybody is broke" excuse for the fall in movie attendance. long before streaming was a thing ticket sales were declining. and now that movies no longer have a captured audience that have to go to theaters, of course people would choose the more convenient option. as an example, i saw The Firm when it was on netflix. it was a fine movie, i enjoyed it. it made $270 million in 1993. if it came out today it would have absolutely flopped in theaters

I mainly go to see smaller movies at the cinema. It's a choice I made since only last year. Why? Those movies have the balls to show you some crazy shit and takes risks. It's usually something unique and surprising. A gift is a lot more fun when its a surprise and something you wanted! (Also usually has big stars or upcoming stars great casting) I'm kind of tired of the big, over the top action, goofy comedy type movies. The only action movies I watch these days in theatres are Christopher Nolan movies, Tom Cruise movies, James Bond and John Wick. Maybe a Liam Neeson movie. Challengers and Poor Things were the perfect examples of this for me. Challengers was a special movie to me.

@ChrisTheAspergerGuy4 ай бұрын
A few corrections if I may: The original Fall Guy was on in the 80s, not the 70s. Dylan O'Brien's injury wasn't from a motorcycle accident. It was from the opening action scene in Maze Runner 3. He got hit by the pickup truck when it flipped forward after he jumps on the back of the train. Filming shut down for months so he could recover. And Brett's kids are absolutely Gen Z, his son more so. His daughter is near the cusp of Gen Alpha, but she's not. Anyway, going back to Fall Guy, again it has nothing to do with young people watching Tiktok. They still go to the movies as much as anyone else, at least from what I've seen. They just weren't interested in that particular film, apparently. And again, all the tornadoes going on in the mid-west likely kept some people from going to the movies last weekend as well. However, we seem to be on the same page about the ridiculously short release window between theaters and home viewing. I think that's the biggest problem aside from the bloated budgets. It's conditioning people not to go to the theater and these studios need to knock that shit off if they know what's good for them. They're shooting themselves in the ass. As for that Gollum movie, I don't know. I would need to see a trailer, but I'm leaning towards it not being necessary. But hey, if it gets made, I'll go see it. And the only one of Roxy's TV picks I like is Milf Manor. That's a wild show lol. Speaking of Roxy, what's going on with her nympho neighbor? We still haven't heard the latest with her.
