awsome part! one question i have for you: is there only the sun in ruby sanctum or are there 2 moons? (yes azeroth has 2 moons). and on a tangent - can you see other planets or other celestial objects like galaxies or the red star of argus? i´m working on a theory that azeroth lives in a fake skybox because you cant see other planet but other planets can see azeroth. Always thought Cata was a huge mistake. They should have never touched classic, epic areas. I know it was partly done to enable flying but that wasn't a good enough reason to change areas where many people spent big amounts of their lives.
@Jediwarlock3 ай бұрын
I agree! I wish they had the ability (or made the decision) to include a phased version of the old areas, at the very least.

Now I look at Wrath with fondness but back in 2008-2010 I was playing on a TBC private server refusing to play Wrath claiming it took the game in the completely wrong direction. And everyone thought I was crazy. Well little did they know. Wrath was STILL good, but I wasn't wrong either lol

Back in the days there were these "admin / building" private servers. You would go on it and be able to place game objects via admin commands. People used it to build cities and all sorts of stuff in those empty areas of the map, which were way more before Cataclysm. Basically, every mountain at the zone borders had some of that empty, flat area on top or between - which would be used as building space by the players.

Cataclysm is where they listened to all the wrong opinions. People complained about the time-sink required in the game because the people who were 10-16 in vanilla were now adults with jobs and children. To try and retain them they made all aspects more accessible and casual... but it came in the form of raidfinder. To best describe the experience of raidfinder at the time; i qued up as heals/dps as a shadow priest with no healing gear. (i did have a disc spec to switch to) When i got in the raid 1 of the healers left at the very start, one was afk at the entrance, and one of them was wearing only 3 pieces of gear (green rarity). A resto druid and I were the only healers for the raid and it never even came close to a wipe. There was no one even hitting the gigantic green button mechanics, people standing in fire tunnelvisioning their dps meter, and it was a complete and total success. To say that it was casual is more than an understatement.

I like to think were pocket dimensions given to the dragons by the titen constructs to be a home away from home, Like a valdrakken tower away from home, and i think with time as the dragons settled places that reminded them of their actual home and settled on the actual 4 corners of the known world, and as generations went by, younger whelps only heard of the dragon isles,

Exploration is no longer as good as it used to be because of flying. And is not realy Blizzard's fault. Initialy the way flying woked, you had to reach max level before you could fly. Yet, even then, when questing, you'd be more time in the ground then flying. Also in TBC dailies were done in the isle of Quel'Danas where there is no flying... During Wotlk, flying helped to reach the high places but still, you'd spend more time in the ground... Later, Blizzard tried to take flying away, in WoD, and go back to the exploration era, which imo was a good idea... we know the zones of vanilla better,. not ust because they are the oldest, but because we spent so much time actualy exploring them!... But people whinned till they got flying back in WoD, and expansion that was planned for flying to not be needed, and to be explored, with jumping challenges that were fun but were rended pointless once flying got introduced... a real shame! I got lots of the treasures and achievements BEFORE flying.. and i'm very happy i did!. Nowadays, you spend more time flying from A to B then questing, and that is the problem!
