The way the Sims Team handled this topic was... actually kinda beautiful ngl. Despite the worries of the pack and the usual will it live up to its trailer discussions a lot of people have expressed the appreciation and beauty of how the trailer displayed mourning especially to someone so vital in your life. I EVEN teared up a bit and for the sims to manage to do that with the story telling of the trailer is Impressive. I have to give my 10's where 10's are due, the Trailer Team ate this reveal up and it has notched me in the direction of possibly getting it earlier than I would normally get packs I'm intrigued by.

I agree- I mean from what I can tell. it's actually challenging to handle something like this. but they added meaningful touches and also whimsy without it delving deep into religion or being disrespectful either. Really loved the direction of the trailer

Overall, I think this pack has been the first EP since Cottage Living that has captured a good deal of my attention! Crossing my fingers, I'm waiting for the more in-depth gameplay reviews/inside looks later this month.

This trailer looks impressive, for once. The blog post is *beefy,* with several different types of elements and features that fit this theme instead of just one type of activity. They've mixed tones, with some more serious stuff and some sillier things too. I'm not sure I'm going to buy this pack as it may be too morbid to me, but it looks worth the cost so far. I am *really* interested in the fact that the three neighborhoods are so different and the Rebirth system.

Yes! Beefy! That's the correct word for this. It (right now, knowing EA that might change) genuinely feels like there's a lot here. Is it an expansion pack's worth of content? Right now it might but again...EA. But my hopes are high! For the first time in a while I got overwhelmed looking at the blog post and that's such a welcome change compared to love struck which had barely anything (that expansion pack bordered on stuff pack territory it had barely anything). This pack might be morbid but I think it's necessary for many sims players as death is such a lackluster experience in the sims 4. I'm genuinely excited for this and I hope there's not too many disappointments (but knowing ea...there will always be some)

agreed with all of this. It has so far exceeded my exceptions. You are spot on about the mix of tone: that is something (sims 3 I do love but sims 2 has the edge on this ) I admire so much about sims 2... balancing serious, whimsy, emotive etc. a very thoughtful pack in terms of concepts and the trailer too

Well I'm glad that you're enjoying the trailer, while I guess I am, pardon the pun, dead inside to feel any enthusiasm about any Sims 4 EPs lol. I feel a lot of the ideas are rehashed and repackaged to fit into the theme. CAS and Build/buy looks like Paranormal or Realm of Magic, or even Vampires. The world itself, according to some people gives either the goth version of Henford on Bagley or Windenberg. Bucket list sounds very much like their Aspiration checklists. Funerals are giving MWS 2.0 Is it $40 worthy? I don't know. As per usual I'll be cautiously optimistic. Guess we'll have to see the gameplay trailer to get more context.

@@westanimesims so glad I'm not the only one! I will stick to boycotting on principle but it's like "Hey, sorry we sold you lack luster packs, buy this to fix the lack of cohesion?!" The Sims has always worked hard on making sure we are left wanting more (feeding gaming addiction), this pack feels like I'm watching it happen from the sidelines. The trailer looks good for the most part but that's usually why it ends up not living up to the hype. For rent looked promising and look what happened with that!

I respect your opinion, first off. I can certainly see being on either side. the difficulty with so much dlc is you will have some similarities. and in some ways, it can be positive because then you get more integration I personally think this seems fresh and fleshed out more than lots of packs we have gotten, but I also think it's of course a matter of both perspective and execution

This is where I'm at too. The rose colored glasses have been off for much too long for me to not notice the recycled content - the little ghosts from Paranormal Stuff, the wishing well from Romantic Garden, and the portal from Realm of Magic. I also noticed the world looks like a reskin of Forgotten Hollow (which makes sense considering that was also based on Eastern Europe), but it's a smaller world in an EP which they're probably justifying by having a secret ghost realm, which is the same as Glimmerbrook and the Magic Realm but that's a GP, not an EP. It's pretty clear that Game Packs are now the new Expansion Packs.

I'm cautiously excited for this pack. I don't let my sims age up and die from old age because that feels too real but i am interested in everything else. Also the CAS and build buy looks gorgeous. I am a little worried about funerals because it also makes me think of Wedding Stories. Even though the team added "fixes" the English Simmer did a mini play through and that pack still has a lot of issues. I am happy about the multiple jobs though i feel like its been a long time since we've gotten more than one in a pack.

I don't know if someone else has pointed it out, but I'm pretty sure that legacy family portrait is specific for each household. The background and those poses are from when you view a household, not a customized one like in the portraits of random sims. On one hand I hate the poses, but I hope this means they may add more to the default poses (and maybe the portrait background can be influenced by the CAS mods that change CAS backgrounds).

I am excited for this pack. I was kind of neutral-excited after seeing the trailer, but now after watching you go through the blog descriptions and all that, I actually do this this is a really strong pack IF it works. I actually really love that music box as well. I will say I have to respectfully disagree with you - career loss can be quite devastating. When I transitioned out of one field into another, it was incredibly difficult for me with my mental health, and I went through a whole grieving and reinvention process - losing that particular career felt like giving up a part of who I am as a person, so I was kind of grieving part of myself, and at the time I didn't think I'd have it ever again. So it was a lot. It took a lot of work for me to deconstruct how much of myself I tie into what I do for work, but I did that eventually. I have lost people, pets, friends, etc., and I lost someone quite close to me when I was a teenager. Transitioning out of my chosen career path was harder than losing that person for me. I think a lot of people might find that quite cold, but for me the reasoning I have is because I felt I made the best of all my time I had with that person, whereas in my chosen career path there was still just more I wanted to do, and I just wasn't able to continue in it. It was harder to let go and accept that kind of change because that kind of change for me felt more uncertain. Anyway, just sharing my perspective, not judgment. 💜 Thanks for making this overview Erin. You've given me far more to be excited about in The Sims 4. It's been a long while since I've been excited for a pack. I think the last one I was genuinely excited for was...Werewolves.

Yup, while I def like the trailer the blog is a lot more of course telling in terms of what you can expect. It has more features than I expected and some *potential* areas of depth or consideration that seem promising, albeit of course with caveats I really respect your conversation about career loss- and worrying about my own job security or thinking of when my father lost his job and I was in the hospital quite ill (about 10 years ago) yes you are right, it can absolutely be devastating. my concern would be idk it'd be true for all sims especially a small job they'd barely been at- or I worry also it could all be overdone. On a side note,, much respect and strength to you. That takes a ton of courage, and you should be proud of yourself for weathering through that. I truly wish you the very most fulfillment in the time going forward

my main takeaway from the trailer is that even if the gameplay sucks, at least the buildbuy is gonna be gorgeous; looks like venetian gothic is the main aesthetic influence, shown most clearly in the windows, while the interiors lean a little more renaissance

so...I ended up crying while watching the trailer. it was so bizarre. I don't know that the storytelling was enough to make me do that, but it happened. I'm hoping the festivals are similar to Island Living festivals. they run great and don't involve pop-ups. I was pretty indifferent about this pack before the trailer - was hoping for graveyards again. now I'm actually excited about it. the funeral activities gave me pause as well.

I am seeing a fair few did! in some ways I was surprised I didn't ha- I cry decent amount, and I lost my grandfather this year who I was really close to (but he had a good long life). I think the way it was made, the music, and the soft storytelling really carried an emotive quality

I am the weirdo who hates it. 😂😂😂 Breaks my belief in the sims mourning when the ghost is just there immediately after they are suppose to be dead. If ghost actually haunt like the house instead of just being regular ol sims who happen to be ghost I might hate them a little less. I actually have a mod that takes away Sims ability to even see ghost unless they learn how to see ghost. The modder has retired so now I am afraid this is gonna break that mod finally. Even if I don’t get the pack, I assume the base code is gonna have some alterations to ghost.

There will actually be rebirth! You have to do things while alive or as a ghost to "unlock" it, but you can reincarnate apparently

That's so much better than I expected! Even if the gameplay will lack depth and diversity, what I already see in trailer is enough to be excited. Funerals, grim reaper career, rebirth system, graveyards (finally!) and expanded ghosts, etc. Build buy and CAS are gorgeous. Also as I far as see they show us THREE different graveyards (different designs but still). And I assume we will be able to build a graveyard in each world, not like it was with high school.

More likely a Raven than a crow the artist kit has tons of "raven" stuff too in the art etc. There is a poem/book called "The Raven" by American Gothic Poet EdgarAllen Poe. One of the lines in it (very famous) is: "Quoth the Raven, Nevermore." If I recall the story/poem is about a guy who is depressed about his wifes death is visited by a talking Raven who says "Nevermore", over and over again. Similar to Marley visiting Scrooge, but it sits on a Greek statue by the door (artist kit item?) or something. The husband keeps asking questions and if he'll ever see his wife again in heaven and the bird just keeps saying Nevermore, so he thinks that the bird is evil. Sorry, I was in HS when I had to read that. Kind of depressing to read, so I have forgotten most of it. The town is called Ravenwood too, with a neighborhood Crows Crossing. A group of crows is called a "murd3r" and a group of ravens is called an "unkindness"... 3:23 Look at the center left. Bonehilda appears to be strutting around..... Casket sale?? Yeah, Vlad be hanging around there every day. Too macabre.

I'm gonna be that person and point out yet again, more recycled content that I noticed. The cute ghosts originally from Paranormal Stuff, the wishing well originally from Romantic Garden Stuff, the portal originally from Realm of Magic, and with some of the decor being similar to Vampires and Crystal Creations, it honestly looks like a conglomeration of so many existing packs. I also have a bad feeling that funerals may be a base game update but the majority of coffins, etc. are going to be locked behind this pack. This most definitely screams Game Pack material but this is the standard we've been forced to accept at this stage in The Sims 4 lifespan. It's incredibly hard to be excited about packs anymore, even though as an occult player I do really enjoy the aesthetic of the pack, and also that it has an Eastern European inspired world because I have about half Eastern European ancestry and I do like the representation. ⚰️

I really like this idea, but I'm sad it's taken 10 years in the making to get a graveyard to just be held hostage behind a $40 price tag, not to mention the constant anxiety around game breaking bugs because they never bother to properly release their DLC anymore with quality in mind. Really hoping the base game gets a basic funeral or graveyard update to ease this sting.

I am happy to see so many Simmers excited about this pack…they deserve it and deserve it to work. This actually looks “expansion” worthy which is good, just not excited myself…at all. Maybe due to all the past disappointments. What bothers me personally most is the alteration to ghost, I like that they “leave the family” when they die and it allows me to mostly ignore them beyond visiting there grave. I also release them fairly often. I had a child Sims morning the death of his mom and it ruined the impact when she was ringing him up a couple days later. I also don’t want to have to start manually removing ghost who are taking up household slots because the ghost isn’t automatically shifted out of household. As much as I like there being wills, inherritence, and even graveyards, funerals, and the undertaker career. I am not sure if I will get this until I see some gameplay and I know the full impact of the changes to the ghost system. I don’t even mind them being an occult but I still want the default to be death removes them from the household into there ‘own household’ and from there I can fetch them back or not. I also wouldn’t want them showing up at there own funerals for a chat. I don’t mind a visit while visiting the actual grave tho. Don’t ask me why. Cause I don’t know.

Excited for this EP. Will buy it on sale. Excited that Simmers are excited. It reminds me of how hyped people were for growing together and then upon release it was just fine. Will it be worth $40? Maybe. But with the game being indefinite, there’s no penalty in waiting. It sounds like a lot of content, which is nice. It sounds like they stayed on topic which is huge. With the Sims devs teasing this one for years, I’m glad it took this long. Looking forward to seeing Simmer reviews once it’s released. Also excited to see how mods will take this pack further. I guess that’s a positive of TS4 going on for so long is that modders have a chance to flesh out all the content and continue to improve the gameplay. Not to jump on too soon, but will we get another pack by the end of the year or in January?

The only thing that is mildly concerning is the grief...as someone who uses Cheerful Introduction and instantly befriends literally everyone, and therefore is almost constantly having a sad moodlet for "losing a friend" (even though I met that friend literally ONCE), the grief functionality worries me. 😅 I'm hoping they make friendships decline more quickly over time to avoid that.

I'm excited to see how they handle the theme. Its sounding like the mortician career is just a regular non-active career. Which is kind of a bummer, because I want to run a funeral home lol. I think the family portrait is probably just a frame that you can put pictures in to display, but i could be wrong. I know there was a mod that looked similar to that family portrait, so maybe they worked with the modder and got that item in game, just guessing though, but at minimum I feel like it will be a frame you can put your own pictures in instead of a random group of sims. I could be wrong though lol

I really REALLY hope this pack works with little to no bugs upon release. I'm being realistic in expecting some bugs, but hopefully they're the fun kind instead of the gamebreaking frustrating kind. If this pack does well performance wise on release, that would be a huge win for the Sims team. Yep, I have this family portrait in game. Different frame though (less pretty than the new one haha). It came for free for a limited time if you downloaded the Sims Mobile when it first came out. Unfortunately this was before Sims Mobile was available for Android users, so only iPhone users could claim it. I was actually hoping they’d introduce this for everyone, but I wish it wasn’t locked behind another “limited time” deal. Other than that though this pack looks amazing

For people wondering how the frame works, it’s just a generic picture of your sim’s family, but it automatically updates in game anytime a sim / pet dies or is added to your household. You can’t change the poses or anything but it’s still a nice item to have

I love the trailer, I almost got emotional when the elder sim pass away in his bed in front of his family & his family planing his funeral. I’m interesting to see more about the sims being an “Grimstern” working with Grim in the Grim Reaper career, the Sims Will, the Tarot cards gameplay, upgrades Ghosts Sims features for ghost sims customization in cas, & they can be reincarnation/rebirth. Be able to create your own cemetery lots, & etc. I’m still waiting for the gameplay & review before I get it.

The trailer was well put together, and I loved the great, relatable storyline. The music matched the theme perfectly-it was somber yet hopeful. However, I have my own opinions about some aspects. The world and B&B's theme lacked originality, which is why I think it is so compatible with other packs/worlds. Even though I'm supportive of compatibility, the theme reminded me of Windenburg and other non american worlds combined. The tarot card readings were a nice addition, but I’m afraid they might lack depth and meaning. I was hoping for a happier afterlife world for deceased sims, but I understand why they might not have gone that route to avoid infringing upon religious beliefs. However, I think the reincarnation aspect and the idea of ghosts living in their family households to help/scare them make up for this. I think the funeral and will reading events were also a nice touch, but I have concerns that they will have reused Wedding Disaster's game mechanics (ahem...bugs). I’m confused about the grim reaper career; for $40.00, I’d rather see a live career instead of a rabbit hole. The bucket list challenge reminds me of the date/party/work tasks from previous packs, which are repetitive and easy to configure-definitely less work put into creating them. I'm also not thrilled about the caskets being sold in town. I know for a fact my sims won't live or vacation in that town, it is too macabre! While I see potential depth this pack could add to my sims' lives, I’ll consider buying it when it’s 50% off, but I need to see more gameplay before making a final decision.

I'll agree on the world- granted I need to go back and look more closely! I actually still really like bb and cas, world is fine but nothing exciting . I am personally fine with that- but I think the critique is fair Yes.. I think it'd be hard to pull off without too many religious connections? sure it could be done, but I think the route they went was maybe for the better My hope is that grim reaper is active, but def cannot tell that from the blog. gurus said they had more to share: hopefully the gameplay trailer might touch on the careers and even the tarot cards

This pack looks really good, and that's pretty surprising. I think in the place the teams seem to be in now, they need to go through and fix / redo the earlier expansion packs, to give them the quality that this seems to be bringing. Maybe not adding big new features but fixing, improving and maybe even adding to existing features to 1: bring them up to date, since some of these packs are reaching 9+ years! and 2: potentially show newer players that these packs are worth buying if they dont own them, or for older players, that these packs are still playable and weren't just a waste of money a decade ago. The only pack that maybe they should skip is Get Together, as that pack is very simple and really good! But they could still totally add some more character and personality to that pack, and maybe flesh out the groups to bring them up to speed with the latest game patches and packs. Watching something from The Sims 3, like a producers walkthrough of an expansion pack, will sure have you missing those packs and how excited and happy the team seemed to be to introduce the amazing packs for The Sims 3.

I know they hired a new team- thank goodness- who is now and has been working on big fixes and adjustments for pas packs. the most notable event improvements were for MWS. I can't say more, but am of the understanding they plan to expand that QA team more by a fair bit too

The ea app continues to explain some aspects of the expansion pack. It does mention that rebirth, can be used to even go into other families, and alter your relationship with them. I wonder if this can include more than simply being offspring, but maybe even come back as an elder etc. it also seems that in order to reincarnate you need to go into a specific area. The ghost system described actually kind of reminds me of the powers of witches from sims 2 apartment life, since it is divided into good, neutral, and evil abilities. The inclusion of the crow is as a new pet, and a means to end your sims by I assuming being a jerk to them kind of reminds me of chickens and rabbits from cottage living. I am kind of expecting this game to have strong integration with growing together, paranormal, and realm of magic. The inheritance system also seems to be a method of determining guardians of children. I am also curious about the reapers face, and I wonder what happens when we are the pinnacle of the reaper career. additionally, I wonder how the game will decide on what sims die for both careers, and if there are no deaths, what happens. I am wondering if this may also lead to a further improvement of the neighborhood stories in control of death. I am curious about the new skill, since I think it would definitely be connected to the reaper career, and what benefits it brings, however it could also be included in the mortician career. On a small side note, did anyone notice the adorable Spectors from paranormal?

This pack is perfect for me. I wanted occult & there's plenty. The whole bucket list, wills, etc, will add depth to relationships & life trajectory. Love that ghosts can be cheeky (even terrifying) or helpful. Reincarnation is so cool. Love the Grim assistant career (maybe active, they say "in the field") & curious about the mortician one. Very keen on the Styx like river & its effects. Love the portal, like a veil between the world of the living & the dead. Nice to have another corner of the world inspiring the sims (Romania). The BB/CAS look really cool. Curious about pack integration, what with other occults? Imagine being haunted by a vampire ghost 😅 Showed the trailer to my partner (not a simmer) who said that's quite a morbid theme. I agree, I was excited like a 5-year-old with this trailer but am so afraid of the letdown that may follow! Like Tarot, maybe life after death, souls journey, bucket lists, funerals, wills, graveyards, crows, playing as Grim and I think the very end hints at rebirth! Oh my! I so badly need this to be good because otherwise EA is literally predicting their own death and the death of this beloved franchise. This must be the first EP in like 3 years I am actually fully excited for and I still haven't purchased the last 2 EPs and won't until they are half-off. If this isn't broken, and I don't witness pre gameplay with Sims attending funerals in swimsuits, dead sims dressed as a bear and attending sims doing pushups and celebrity worshipping, I may actually buy this upon release. Lol I also wish they would unlock the haunted trait to be used on community venue lots and not just for houses. The World itself sounds fun and different and the build buy thus far looks good! As someone who doesn't like supernatural in my life simulation games much, I was pretty convinced this DLC was not for me. But seeing the trailer and then reading the description... man, that might actually be the first TS4 DLC that actually works for me. There are new game systems that apply to all kinds of households and life trajectories, the concept of "Grief" seems to apply to lot of things, and there seems to be a lot of care in providing more than just gimmicks... these new features seem to have actual emotional depth ?! What is this sorcery ?! Where has this attitude been for the past decade ?! That's what I want from a life simulation. Sims in TS4 have supposedly "emotion", but I never feel anything. This, however, might feel like actually something. I'm very hopeful and will carefully keep an eye out for the gameplay trailer. I haven't been this optimistic about this game in years, and, sure, the bar was on the floor, but still. (also the Undertaker Career is a huge surprise, because this is the complete opposite to the usual kind of careers the game has been known to offer) (the broken roof and mossy roof structures we see in the trailer look AWESOME) (I'm not pro-predordering at all, and not much into these 3 bonus items either, but one slight detail : the screenshot on the article they posted about the pack makes me feel like the portrait is using the household picture generated when you create a family, given the background) (I just wish their article describing the main features of the pack wasn't so full of typos... always have a second person proofread, people !)

What made wedding nightmares a pack that I would not get even if it was free, was the fact that it REPLACED base game weddings. You could not leave anyone on the altar and could not through an "old" wedding without using that broken pack. The world is gorgeous and it has some nice stuff for building but I wouldn't be able to play not so berry again or have a normal wedding ever again in my game. But with this pack, we don't necessarily need the funeral feature, we can hold funerals other ways too. Yes obviously the base line is that it works, but if it doesn't, the pack won't be unplayable because of that issue.

I remember Sims 4 on launch, and missing a way to reset age, like Sims 3 had. So that's cool, and adding more steps to it than Sims 3 is a good choice. Tying it to beliefs about reincarnation as an excuse, sure. I think that's good game design. Just drinking a potion was too cheap. And wills, and wills drama, gives me huge incentives to not make everyone immortal. I tend to have vast houses that sims might want to fight over.

Erin, something I’m not seeing content creators picking up on is the choice of song for the trailer. The original song is well worth a watch and the lyrics are very explicit, it’s on KZbin and by a very progressive band known for kicking back. Why did the sims team pluck this amazing yet largely under the radar love song for this trailer on Life and Death? We all love a conspiracy theory, but what if this is the actual bones of the Sims Team fighting back against upper management and trying to communicate to us that they’re trying their hardest to fight back and give us what we want? That they do actually care and love the game. After all, Lovestruck, for all its faults, was nevertheless a little more naughty than we could have ever predicted. I mean, it’s a stretch, but you’ve got to agree, it’s a thought provoking choice that likely flies right over the heads of the EA monetisation people😂

I was worried when I started reading the blog this morning that we were going to be stuck with a "ghost" pack. Fortunately, there are far more things in it that I've been wishing for. I'm also excited for the Funeral Director/Mortician job. I hadn't considered that (surprising, considering how I like Caitlin Doughty and others who write about that type of job.) I do hope that the tuning for mourning and grief will be reasonable. I *hate* that 2 days is a bit much for the way they have it now. (Fortunately, I discovered Weerbesu's UI Cheats, so I can get rid of "moodlets" that I find annoying. I hope that continues.) Overall, I'm excited about this pack. I haven't been this excited since we got Growing Together. (I remember talking about hoping that it would have things we're seeing in this one. But I feel like there is plenty to make a full EP with what I'm seeing in this pack.) I just noticed that in addition to the posts you've made in the last couple of days, there is yet *another* one (Town Stories) that I hadn't seen. I hope you get that "couple of days" to rest up! Having watched the trailer, and now, thanks to you, read the blog post, I am feeling unexpectedly mixed about this pack. I honestly thought I would hate it, and it would be an easy pass for me; too much trauma around funerals and death (in fact, I play with all deaths and aging off in my Sims games, and just age kids up with birthday cakes or in CAS when I want them to age up). And I still don't know that I would have much use for the funerals or the mortician/funeral director career. But the more paranormal aspects, the upgrades to ghosts, and the possibility of rebirth have captured my attention, plus what we saw of the CAS and build/buy were very much my style, so now I am actually considering purchasing it (after watching reviews and finding out how badly it breaks the game - definitely not preordering). It is nice to have some Sims news that is a bit hopeful, at least (weird as it is to say that about something involving death) - thank you for the reaction video!

I thought it looked great. For the last year I’ve been playing UDC (a heavily modded medieval European game) and that requires you to kill someone off on a regular basis. I can see a lot of these game features fitting into that game style. The world also looks like something the history modders could work with. I’m really looking forward to it. @@SimmerErin Sorry, it's the Ultimate Decades Challenge that was created by Morbid Gamer. Basically, it's an extremely involved legacy challenge starting in the Middle Ages that you play at a rate of 4 sim days per year. In theory, you play it until you get to the present, but idk of anyone who has ever made it that far. (I think Morbid made it to the American Revolution before taking a break.) There are many content creators with UDC series on KZbin and also people posting screenshot series on Tumblr. Morbid encouraged people to change the rules to meet their needs so there are many variations, both more and (mostly) less historically accurate and starting in different countries with different cultures or adding Vampire wars or alien bloodlines. It's a blast. I may never play regular Sims again. Edit: but to my original thought, UDC is known for a very high death count. There are various morbidity events worked into the rules which involve you using dice to figure out who will die when. Most people post their content with a trigger warning.

@@SimmerErin I work at a property that is a funeral home/cemetery combination. I work on the cemetery side. The funeral home prepares the deceased and holds services there, and we dig the graves, or prepare the crypts, or niches, and prepare the graveside services. We lay the deceased to rest, either in a burial vault, a mausoleum crypt, or place urns in the urn niches or columbaria. It's challenging but rewarding work. It's a lot more involved than people realize.

It is just me probably, but this world reminds me of Windenburg somehow. Im not saying it is a copy, it looks different but I get the cozy vibes , I love the mountains, it doesnt look like a flat world.

so of all the things I see, the world is the least interesting. dont' mind it, just not much of a wow factor. I like the atmosphere from the trailer but think they could have gone a bit darker, almost mystical

yes, so I would say of everything here the world is the least original. it's fine, but not a stand out. my hope would be that they spent more time, money resources on the gmeplay

@@SimmerErin Im sorry but I dont agree, but I understand, it does look like a detailed world, I dont think they didnt spend enough time on this. I personally not a fan of ''darker worlds'' , especially for everyday gameplay. It fits the pack well imo.

I'm not going to get my hopes up but I'm kinda excited for this. I'm excited for the tarot cards and even though it's dark, murder by crows is an interesting death. I also hope (but less likely) we can get a crow or maybe even a raven as a pet.

ngl murder by crows feels like a death that might have been in sims 2 ha- just that darker tone yeah, gurus said there is more to reveal, and I'd hope tarot would be part of that

@@SimmerErin I've sadly played very little of Sims 2 on PC but have completed it on the PSP haha. I'm also excited to see what else is getting added/announced and hopefully the updates don't break the game again...I hate updating my mods Edit: Just read on the EA App we'll be getting a pet crow (awesome!) and tarot cards will be collectibles in Ravenwood and in Build and Buy.

The trailer is removing and I hope wills and graveyards will be included in the base game since there is a Sims 4 scenario about a will, a grandmother and three grandchildren and graveyards were in the Sims 3 base game. Infants were added to the base game when Growing Together was released.

they did, yes, they had a series of bug fixes and a big patch of fixes recently. ... but some issues remain. the bigger issue I have had tbh is that I simply don't like how MWS works when it does work: a ton of micromanagement. English simmer tested it recently, a video not long ago

Ceremony bug nightmare. Be cautious on that. Remember wedding disaster? If funeral suffered same poor quality result. Also, no power panel like werewolf & vampire do.

It's good to see that they're putting more effort into this pack. However, I am not optimistic at all. I haven't been towards any new pack since the last several ones broke the game. That's the reason why I stopped buying DLC, and I'm gonna call right now that this one will break the game again (which is why I'm taking advantage of the time I have before the pack releases to work on builds).

a lot of times the biggest problems I'd argue come with the base game patch. though for rent yeah def that was a big one for game issues. I am glad I didn't buy that one good news is we do have a larger QA team, finally

This actually does seem like a decent pack and I'm kinda surprised by that. I do feel like, considering this is a life sim game, some things should be base game content but this almost feels like a passion project for somebody (or several people) on the team. Where has this energy been throughout most of The Sims 4?
