Those of us who played WC 3 Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne, will never forget Arthas, Illidan. My favorite 2 characters, and in my eyes they were protaganists, they were doing what they deemed necessary to save their own people, in their own way.

Long ago when arthas still was "Human", he had a horse named invincible and that steed was very dear to Arhtas. Somehow his steed died under and time and Arhtas buried it with sadness and felt like he had lost a near friend.. When Arhtas later became the death knight, he had the power to once again meet his old friend. Arhtas took to his grave and with his new powers he gave life once again to his dear friend. Since then Arthas and his near friend fought together once again

Arthas' story is indeed sad. He was raised as a "weapon...of righteousness", but ended his story as a mad demigod ruling over the army that destroyed his people. The Lich King turned him into the worst kind of traitor...the one who believes they are doing what is right until they cannot tell the difference between friend and enemy any more. The moment Arthas took up Frostmourne, anything good that remained in him was silenced and locked away, smothered by insanity and darkness.

This storyline. the gameplay, the raiding, and the gear was just so much fun and so epic. I miss it. Cata and Pandaria haven't measured up, I doubt WoD will either. Blizzard keeps cutting corners when releasing content, rather than bringing out something for everyone.

Arthas is not potrayed as a protagonist in WC3 that is the whole point the fact that he was ready to go to the very end to safe his own people but ended up being corrupted by frostmourne and destroying the people he once loved. It just a sad tale

The LK will return, but it will be Bolvar Fordragon, so I am not sure how that will go. Arthas had such great lore leading up to a quite epic culmination. Big boots to fill Bolvar.

Ner'zhul was the leader shaman on the orcs, in their homeland Dreanor. But he was corrupted by Kil'jaedan. Then orcs dropped shamanism, ans started using the warlock powers. THen nerzhul betrayed Kil'Jaedan.Then his physical body was vanished for ever and his soul was trapped in the a armor trapped in a frozen throne as a punishment.....

Well if you'd played WC3 rain of chaos and the frozen throne, you'd see that Jaina proudmoore made friends with the orcs. There was still some fighting, but generally those under the command of Jaina were at peace with orcs, this spread over time into what you just saw now.

KJ created the lich king and he got hes own mind, arthas claimed the sword called frostmourne that was a piece of the armor in the frozen throne, illidan was foolish enough to claim the sword and was driven insane by lich kings power to claim hes armor and rule the scourge

Actually. Arthas story is quite alike Sargeras Story. Just a huge differnce. Sargeras was annihalating Demons for the Pantheon to protect worlds. Arthas was fighthing Undead to save his homeland. The real hero of the day is Sargeras.

Wrong read the book in the lich Kings dreams He kills his remaining childhood innocence and then kills Ner'zhul so that only Arthas is in control not the old Arthas but the one who lead the armies as a deathknight. I would strongly recommend the book as it tells the story of Arthas beautifully

Arthas was wasnt evil, he fucked up with the merceneries but that was it. I am not saying its nothing but he was ready to do anything and this pushed him to fail about this matter. This was the only judgement call he failed.... people act like Arthas pro-Frostmourne was still arthas.... it wasnt. Arthas lost his soul the moment he took Frostmourne, so the lich king was a merge of a SOULESS Arthas the full might of Ner'zhul. Arthas was buried very deep within the Lich king.

Sargeras became mad because the demons..setting them free and corrupting the world i can't name him hero and his role as a.titan was the Guardian...he just purged the demons and loc, them forever.....he is the leader of The Burning Legion.......he fuckd up Azzroth and destroyd Outland.....i think Arthas was a hero because he did everything for his homeland ,but Ner'Zhul controlled him...the only reason the scourge didn't fuckd every town was because a little good part remain free from ner'zhul:D

Lich king is evil not Arthas...I played the warcraft 3 campagin so many times that i lost count...Arthas(when he was yet a Prince) became vengeance itself when he saw his beloved land rotten by the undead scourge which in that time was entrusted by the Burning legion(Kil'Jaden the one who created the lich king) to Mal'Ganis the Dreadlord in charge for the annihilation of any resistance that would interfere .Arthas wanted to strike him down at whatever cost.so life had no meaning before his wish
