All OSE layout is awesome. They are the gold standard for layout along with Shadowdark.

So good! I've loved running Dolmenwood and the only downside is how clumsy and clunky everything else feels now

The advantage I see in having the monsters and treasure segregated from the rest of the narrative (maps, strategy, descriptions) is to facilitate "re-skinning" adventures for other party sizes/strength to make sure everything that needs adjustment is adjusted and the rest that doesn't, isn't.

This is an interesting perspective I hadn't considered before. It makes a lot of sense coming from an OSR set up. In 5E I think you'd still have a lot of mechanics tied to skills and DCs left over.

@@RdotDoyle Yeah, exactly OSR. My group switched to Basic Fantasy 6+ years ago and never looked back. WotC stuff is just too complicated and expensive for our tastes. Especially the complicated aspect.
