Triumph is probably one of the most under rated bands back in the 70's & 80's ... how many bands out there have 2 lead vocalist and only 3 members in the band ...

Gil the drummer owns one of the best recording studios in the world. It’s in a burb of Toronto. Many high end bands and singers have recorded there. Happy to have seen these guys many times here in Ontario. Great band.

All you have to say for Metalworks amazing stylistic reach is - Cristina Aguilera recorded there while at her peak! It was originally Triumph building the studio just for their exact needs! They owned all their gear - lights, PA, Pyro, Lasers....Took 28 Semis to load the stage on this Tour! Gil bough Rik and Mike out and that ended any Triumph with Phil X or anyone else until Sweden 2008!

The harnonies were provided by the guitarist, Rik Emmett, who is the other lead vocalist in the band. Rik Emmett's solo work is also very good, and worth checking out.

I haven't heard this song in decades! This was one of the tracks that made frequent appearances in the sound system of my souped-up Chevy Camaro as we cruised up and down the main drag in Kitchener, Ontario.

From the 1984 album, "Thunder Seven", this is a powerful Anthem for Triumph🇨🇦 that has resonated for decades. The powerful guitar solos and uplifting melodies, the drum beat and the soaring vocals can't help but energize the listener. This was one of Triumph's biggest hits, receiving substantial airplay and elevating their fan base. Number 88 in the US and Number 35 in Canada. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Louie. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Written by Triumph. The band sounds great 👍 here. Before this, the late Levon Helm, RIP, played the drums 🥁 and sang lead vocals for The Band. That group was founded in Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 , years before Rush and Triumph were. 40 years 🎂 ago, Kelly Keagy wrote and sang Sister Christian ✝️. He is the drummer for Night Ranger, a band founded in ny hometown San Francisco 🌉. Same year, Phil Collins sang That's All. He and other members of Genesis wrote the song.

You've seen Triumph before, the lead guitarist Rik Emmett sings lead most of the time, and he was doing the harmonies here, as both he and the drummer are excellent singers. Usually there's just 3 guys, guitar, bass & drums, but on this tour they had another guy helping out on guitar & keyboards to help fill out the sound, I saw pretty much the same show, but in Montreal. More Triumph please !!!

Harri, you've actually heard the other lead singer in this band, Rik Emmett (whose upper register control was even more impressive). You heard "Fight the Good Fight" back in January and "Lay It on the Line" at the end of June. So, it wasn't the moustachioed guy signing harmonies (he was bass and keyboards, with some backing vocals), it was instead the blonde guy playing lead guitar who provided those harmonies.

Hi Harri B! Triumph also released the nice AOR radio ballad "Just One Night" in '86. Lead guitarist Rik Emmett eventually went solo and had two real good hits on his '90 Absolutely LP/CD named "When A Heart Breaks" and "Saved By Love." Enjoy!

Awesome! I haven’t heard from Triumph in a long time. They don’t get much airtime in the USA. I can only think of two songs that really got any airtime for them, Lay It On The Line and Hold On, and I don’t know why, they’re an awesome band. I grew up in Canada and they definitely represented. Thanks Harri, and thanks to the requester. I forgot who it was.

One of the few times they played with a extra guitarist. Really filled out the live sound to emulate the album tracks. Triumph didn't do the occult, black and bloody, hedonistic thing all the other bands did. They hated that shit, and wore white, and had a party every concert.

Yes, I remember that second guitarist...Rick Santers? He didn't play that much. I think he played after they introduced him. But you could hardly hear him play over Rick Emmett! Rick Emmett was a monster on the guitar. One of many highly underrated guitarists.

I am so glad after all these years people like you are sharing their music this is so great!! I was lucky enough to seem them live and I will tell their live show was something special and light years ahead of everyone else. Pyro, massive lights and even laser holograms. Just unreal. The show was like the Trans Siberian Orchestra light, laser and pyro wise, but in the 80's Gil, RIk and Mike were incredible! I actually know Gil and Rik now in their 70's and still great humble guys to this day.

That was a 1987 tour. I saw them in San Antonio, TX during that tour. That city is where they finally broke into the US. There was a big show lined up there in 1981, I believe. Well, Sammy Hagar cancelled his show at the last minute, for some reason. So, they asked the guys if they'd like to do that show, and they said "hell yeah"! And they did so much better than expected and crowd went crazy. A couple of days later they came to my home town, which was alot smaller, but that didn't matter to them, so they put on their full show and held nothing back! My ears were ringing for days afterwards! Then, in 1987, I saw them again in this tour in San Antonio. Their light show was amazing and Rick Emmett did an amazing guitar solo! Then, several years later, they broke up. Such a shame!
