You can plainly see what happened: the solid spindle shaft broke because of an off-center welding job where it attaches to the larger tubing. I have my doubts about how long this repair will last.

This is the proper way to repair. Gather up all the pieces. Walk over to a metal recycling bin. Throw the pieces in the bin. Order new parts!!
