lol this is kinda irrelevant to your comment but my ex used to say HE was OCD when in fact, it was his mom who kept the entire house clean. Once he moved out he was dirty af, had no rituals or other OCD related activities other than not be able to put the volume on odd numbers.
@Howl_atTheMoon Жыл бұрын
I felt so seen when she said that. My own mother also does that, but she’s oblivious to the fact that it indicates she has OCD. She has replaced so many things over the years. I find myself envying my friends who have keepsakes from childhood. Because all of mine have been thrown out a long time ago. She doesn’t keep anything, even some sentimental things. So in a sense I’ve become the opposite. I keep concert ticket stubs, Christmas cards, etc. 😂😂
@pseudonymous9153 Жыл бұрын
This is the stupidest, most ignorant, and most harmful idea I have ever heard. Hoarding isn't the opposite of OCD. It's a fucking SYMPTOM. OCD is NOT a synonym for "clean". Hoarding is one of the myriad of ways OCD can manifest. Ypu obsess over the idea that you might need that object someday, so you are compelled to never get rid of it. I have OCD (actually hygiene/contamination OCD) and am also extremely susceptible to hoarding behaviour, and the only reason it's not worse is a combination of lack of resources/ independent home and a keen awareness of how at risk I am for it. If I'm a "minimalist" it's because I know I *have* to throw things out or I never will and will literally suffocate under my own refuse. Shame on Katya and you.
