Yeah they really whiffed what direction they wanted to take, knowing that “german scientists zombie” overlord movie was planned to be a cloverfield movie being hinted during the Netflix films with the line about monsters coming out of the ground and would had been a huge pay off to the multiverse but it just being one type of constant monster and some random aliens that invade.

I mean, the reason the sequels feel disconnected to the first Cloverfield movie is because they were scripts for original projects that were bought and had the Cloverfield name slapped on top in order to get more money and create a 'series'. So it makes sense the lore makes no goddamn sense and it feels disjointed and disconnected.

The smaller creatures that fell off "Clover" can easily be killed with current weapons. As for the "Clover" monster itself, killing it would have also been easy. It liked to eat stuff, including people. So trick it into believing it was eating a person hiding in a 55 gallon barrel, but was actually a huge bomb (maybe even a Daisy Cutter or MOAB). I bet despite how tough Clover's exterior was, the insides would be unable to withstand a huge bomb exploding inside it.

The entire premise is ridiculous. We have bombs that can penetrate hundreds of feet of rock. Lasers that can burn hotter than the sun, and tanks that can shoot accelerated plutonium rounds. And that's if you ignore that fact that there has NEVER been a deep ocean creature that could survive being brought to the surface due to the pressure differential. And even if it COULD somehow survive, its skeleton and internal biology are designed to function when supported by water, so it would NEVER have the strength to support itself on land. And it (and its parasites) would not have evolved to breathe on land, and how the hell did it SEE the statue of liberty to mistake its head. There are no primates down there for it to make that mistake, and it sure doesn't have eyes. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that the oceans are CONSTANTLY being listened to for traces of enemy submarines, so the idea of a million tonne creature suddenly appearing is beyond dumb. It's entertaining and all, but let's not treat it as remotely plausible.

You brought up a good point, I wonder if that “Nectar” needs to be kept a cool temperatures because where it’s found in order for the victims to not blowing up boomer style… if they would’ve placed the victims let’s say in a cooler that’s 35 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. Maybe the “nectar” would be rendered harmless or dormant.

Cloverfield was such a unique concept 100 ft or more tall and larger than like 10 football field monsters with tinier monsters on it. Like godzilla but from the perspective of people. The sequels really fleshed out the monster and background even though they were absolutely mid at best 😂 It still is a potential million to billion dollar franchise idea for a movie series: -lovecraftian sized / level Monsters -aquatic sized ancient beings (well no they did those with like sharks and snakes) -1st person cameraman perspective of a giant monster rampaging / fights. (Newest godzilla remakes honestly were pretty good in that sense)

6:32 it didn't live on the ocean floor for 1000 years. You see the asteroid land in the ocean behind the main couple when it stutters back to old footage from a date they had, that happened way before the attack. That's the entire premise for why this tape, the whole movie, becomes military footage. Lots of people would record this attack on the city, but this is the only one that shows where the monster came from.

What if there's a counter agent to the infection from the parasites? Like I could imagine it being treated pretty easily with surgery to drain the pressure. This is all conjecture so allow me to insert a scenario. This beast was assumed to be amphibian. We know that most amphibians can survive on land for a short time but must return to water. That being said, civilizations could migrate toward the center of the continent away from the sea making it nearly impossible for the creature to make it that far. Scenario B was introduced in Kong v Godzilla where the government dropped a bomb that absorbed all of the oxygen killing everything in the sea but it also killed Godzilla had the scientist not sacrificed himself to restore the beast. This would throw the world food supply into chaos for a time being but we would be rid of the immediate threat. Scenario C would be the most realistic and that would be for the military to go for the creatures eyes. It cannot attack what it cannot see. Also the assumption it would bleed out from its wounds. I am not sure why this was not done other than it is a movie.

The theory that parasites grow in exact proportion to the growth of the host is totally absurd. A tick biting a cat can multiply on the cat but does not increase its size exponentially if it then moves on to a cow. Unless you've seen ticks as big as a child's head, I'd say the hypothesis should be totally discarded. Secondly, it is not clear how it is structurally possible that a creature almost two kilometers tall can even attempt to move outside of an aquatic environment without literally collapsing under its enormous mass.Moreover, even the assumption "if only a nuclear device has managed to kill a juvenile specimen of this species, an adult would be unstoppable" is yet to be proven Considering the power and heat emitted in a fraction of a fraction of a second by a tactical nuclear device, without considering the huge displacement of air and the sudden change in local pressure, I would say that such a weapon could have had a superabundant power for an organism like Clover, however massive, and would probably not have had a very different effect on an adult specimen. Taking an example, a 9-gauge bullet would kill a dog but not a hippopotamus, a grenade would kill both.

Okay so theory here The Cloverfield Paradox Happened, which caused the rifts to open, the Cloverfield is the aftermath, then 10 Cloverfield Lane is Aliens and or Future humans that made a machine that would kill the monsters, while humans hide out so they can rebuild I admit Cloverfield Paradox wasn't the best movie, yes, but it worked in reverse to most mainstream movies, Use Harry Potter for an example, the first movie was use to establish rules and lore, where that was the third Cloverfield movie in which it established so much that it basically becomes a chore to remember everything One constant though is that 'Time is not linear in this universe, and it exists more as strands which overlap and branch off' Also 'There's no clear 1 to 1, no give and take, one action has either more benefit or less- no benefit' Meaning it's not like Full Metal Alchemist's equivalent exchange, it's more like actual science where experiments and theories are prone to have unexpected results even in controlled environments
