What's next is basically the entire Wacken 2013 Show. Then you can dive into Seven days to the Wolves, Greatest Show on Earth, Élan. Or the current Album Human Nature. Then you might wanna check out a little documentary called "Please Learn The Setlist In 48 Hours". After you have enjoyed all those things you are ready for Nightwish's ultimate masterpiece: The Poet and the Pendulum. Do research on it first. Without it it is just another great composition - but will leave you with far to many questions on what is going on.

My personal suggestion for the next songs in order to give you a nice overview of some "styles" covered by Nightwish: -> "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" (Buenos Aires) will give you a metal and power blast -> There are a couple of great songs from Wacken: Storytime, Romanticide, Last Ride of the Day, Ghostriver -> "Yours an Empty Hope" from Wembley (have a good look at the growls) -> "The greatest Show on Earth" (Tampere) and "The Poet and the Pendulum (Wembley - get to know the background of this song ahead) -> Then the new stuff with "Noise" (Video), „Shoemaker“, "Harvest (Lyric Video) ... Just my personal thoughts :-) One thing you can definitely be sure of: Every song is different, has some surprising transitions, is intense. For peak heavy Nightwish check out the album version of Master Passion Greed 😉 For live you should do Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from the Buenos Aires show, and Dark Chest of Wonders (Wacken) which sounds a little like Dragonforce minus the crazy tempo and has a NASTY breakdown

I want my tears back live at wacken 2013 and Ghost river live at wacken 2013 both by nightwish of course. the poet and the pendulum by nightwish live wembley arena 2015 - this one is long with dark theme and for this one I'd look into it so you'll know going in what is going on also you might cry; the poet and the pendulum is one of my favorites but because of how hard the song hits and the way i connect with it, it isn't one i listen to often.

Only problem with this version is that you don't hear the keys as well during the breakdown. Listen to the instrumental version and the keys puts a whole new dimension to it, almost like a "final boss" sound. Then again it doesn't have the vocals which sucks. Nightwish really needs to re-record these old songs with Floor.

This is one of my favorites! I love the time signature changes. Dude, gotta check out my second favorite band Nothing More. Smart and dynamic music, poetic lyrics, and deep, thought-provoking themes that deal with some heavy subject matter. This is the Time (ballast) is a good starting point, then check out Jenny and God Went North for something more emotionally impactful (check out the backstory, they go together) then go from there. They are one of if not the best new(ish) bands out there. Look forward to your reaction bud!
