I called the DJ Jazzy Jeff phone number many times and got in so much trouble because of the phone bill 😂

I don't remember the Transformers movie being broadcasted on WPIX. It must have aired when I was in school or something.

Starting off with transformers the movie? my god thisi s amazing. this was when Marvel/Sunbow & hasbro started adding live action content into their big two shows after they had stopped producing episodes, as i guess a syndication package. I would love it if you uploaded the transformers intro on this tape in full, as "season 5" has never gotten a release, and we only have very low quality copies

WSBK was surprisingly carried on a lot of New York cable affiliates. Apparently we had it up until it was removed in early 1997, depriving my area of a UPN affiliate until 2000 (and 2001 on cable). You either had to watch the UPN stuff late at night on our Fox affiliate (when we did get UPN it wasn't even carried on cable meaning my area missed out on the entire final season of Star Trek Voyager if they didn't have rabbit ears).

The first set of commercials started with the ending of Transformers The Movie. The second season of TMNT ended on Dec 24, 1988 and the episode here was a rerun of the season 2 premiere "Return of The Shredder" so it would almost be a guess that with the movie being shown possibly as a special it could be from January 1, 1989. The rest of the dates are difficult to determine as TMNT would be in reruns - the 3rd season wouldn't premiere until later in 1989. As for WSBK, we had it on cable here in NJ (channel 20!) until 1990 when it was replaced by TNT. I'd like to see those ads too! Another great video here - Besides the phone number ads again the Junior Achievement with "ECONOMICS DISTRIBUTION" was one I haven't seen SINCE the late 80s so that's awesome!

Glad you're enjoying my finds so far! I may as well upload the WSBK commercials as a bonus video once this series is finished! Yeah, I knew that the original run of season 2 of TMNT finished while this tape was being recorded. For the most part, I guesstimated the dates on the recordings based on the kinds of ice cream cake that Carvel was making at that particular time, lol! Like the Feb. 12 and Mar. 12 dates where Carvel advertises their Valentine's Day cakes and their St. Patrick's Day cakes respectively. I got to give it to whoever was recording these tapes for their kid, they were committed to filling them up, no matter what it took. That takes quite a bit of patience!

Yo! SpatsBear mentioned this channel in one of his videos, and I tell you, you NAILED the preservation of these time capsules. And this was AFTER I saw the promo for Fun House, which I felt was a teeny bit better than Double Dare, and got Stone Stanley productions and JD Roth their start! DOUBLE Kudos! :D

I do have an archive.org account where I periodically post full tapes: archive.org/details/@bdthe2nd I used to (very) rarely do it because of eBay scalpers, but I just don't care about them anymore.
@paulquantumblues35992 жыл бұрын
@@bdalbor I collect tapes too. I have hundreds, and probably thousands of hours that I have collected over the past decade or more. I am very interested in archiving full length shows. Perhaps we could work something out. I do post on Internet archives, but I just list stuff in a very simplistic way such as yard sale find 1, yard sale find 2, etcetera. I agree with you about the ebay guys. Ugh. The prices they ask. Sometimes I do give in though. Anyway. let me know and we'll talk.
