Wow! That transition from Google Earth to the lake front view was slick! Truly a beautiful area!

Thanks Chad! It's fun when I can get real life and Google Earth to align, at least enough. I need to get back to this place and run more of the trails. I *should* just run the 100 I was volunteering at, but the race intimidates me.

I knew about Orcas Island because of a swim run i wanted to do there. Then i discovered this company who does these fast packing trips there and is also somewhere near there, but on the canada side. I didn't know they had a 100-mile race, and now that im into ultra, this is what i think I'll do! Great views, Wes!

I'm editing a video of a race I did 1.5 years ago today. I don't know how you put these out so fast, lol. That's the most impressive part.

This one was relatively simple and went together quick. They’re not all so fast to finish. I used to edit professionally, a job I sometimes miss, and this channel gives me a chance to keep the creativity alive and my editing skills ok.

I was sweeping the course and you passed by us with a couple of dragons we missed. I thought you looked so familiar . . . I have watched all your ultra videos! I wish I had introduced myself before we took off to sweep. I'm pretty sure my daughter a d husband kept you guys company for a bit.

Nice to meet you retroactively! It was a great time volunteering at that aid station, thank you for sweeping! And thank you for watching my channel. I hope we’ll meet again at another event.

I hope you are able to. The whole thing is epic, as you have to take a ferry to the island. There's an awesome retreat not far from the State Park where we like to stay, called Doe Bay.

I know there might be lots of mud and wet trails there, but are there any actually creek crossings in the orca 100 or do they all have bridges?
@wplate
@wplate Жыл бұрын
My friend Dave who has run it says: Orcas 100, I would plan on the feet getting really wet. There are small bridge crossings. Some years, if it has been raining a lot, the water is flowing over the bridge, so you are essentially crossing a creek and getting your feet soaked. Also, there have been times where the upper elevations are snow/slush, so feet get very wet. Remember, it’s the PNW in FEBRUARY!
