Perfect play by Dan, shoveled the money into the pot when he was ahead, and checked when he was behind.

he didn't exactly know which pair art had. art called $9k turn. art has to have something. thats why dan checked.

Lmao y'all giving him too much credit on that check back. The only hand that calls that he beats on the River are Jacks. Art isn't calling with AK or AQ suited.

I don’t understand how art checked there.. dans entire value range will check behind unless he’s going to turn jj, or qq in this case, into a bluff to get Kk or Aa off the hand. I think a 1/4 or 1/3 bet works best. You get all 89 suiteds to shuv, jj-aa to call, and also keep potential bluffs in.

What a check!?? It would be a disgustingly bad bet there with QQ. He's basically turning his hand into a bluff hoping AA & KK fold if he jams the river in that spot.

Dan shouldn’t bet the river. But Art should.
@sonnyhuynh70527 жыл бұрын
Sorry, art checked on the turn because he knew he was behind, and then check the river because he was thinking Dan would bet. Dan bet the turn and checked the river because he must have put Art on an AK when Art checked the turn and when Art called the river Dan must have think he will check the river just in case art has him beat.
@Kingkia336 жыл бұрын
Why not fold the turn then... He checked because all worse would fold if he bets but he's still hoping to value own or bluffs catch with worse hands Dan might get if he perceives weakness....

Calling with over cards in that spot doesn't seem very gto.

Great check. But can really only get value from jj. 10 is a horrible river.
@andrehanderson7 жыл бұрын
It was a good check back, but I don't see it as that difficult. What hands does he beat that are calling river? JJ is about it. I doubt any smaller pairs are calling and he's losing to everything else. I would have loved to have seen what he would have done had Art shoved river.

talk about commenters overhype check by dan. dan bet $9k on turn. art called. i don't think art is calling with low pairs or AK. art has to have a hand.
@JayakrishnanNairOmana5 жыл бұрын
One of the two commentators is a fish. The one that advocates 4-betting 10s (the way you balance your OOP 3-bet flatting range from looking like Tens is by flatting Aces and Kings with some decent frequency, not by 4-betting 10s unless there is a dynamic of button 3-betting light but that does not appear to be the case with DZ), then he says Art's 1/4 pot bet on the driest flop must be sized up (when in fact it is the standard c-bet sizing on a 4-bet board with that texture) and reasons by saying that way you deny equity for DZ if he is calling there with two overs. This just shows this dude does not understand even fundamentals of poker (which the other commentator was polite enough to not point out, but one could sense he was getting frustrated by this dude's idiocy). If DZ was fishy enough to float with anything other than AK on a 4-bet pot (which I don't think he is), you WANT him to call with over cards. That is not called denying equity, it is called realizing equity. That is what poker is all about. There is no reason to price out overcards with half pot sized -EV bets when the only way you will get action on that board is when you are behind.

I like L&TB and usually commentators are decent. Yes it is a good CIB, but he didn't decide on the river. $9k was an optimal size to get called by worse. He had already decided to CIB every river other than Q. Just balancing his timing tells on river obviously!
