Just so you know, you can just say, "very impressive dude. You'Ve got them Moves O.o !!!" and convey the same message. No need to misuse the name of Jesus as though it's a word you can just use to express yourself and attach no more meaning as though it has no greater meaning. You should find it curious that people constantly misuse the words "God" "Jesus" and "holy". If you want better reasons why you shouldn't misuse those words, read the one book that can tell us what those words stand for and why they are sacred: the Bible. Such words were not created so that we can merely use them as expletives or intensifiers. If you wouldn't strip your mother's name of all meaning and significance by using it as a mere expletive, you shouldn't do so to the name of Jesus. If this offends you, just think of it as friendly advice. The bad habit of misusing the words I listed has always generated that kind of response from those who know why those words are sacred, and you happened to adopt that bad habit. And so whenever people take on that bad habit and someone corrects them, they think, "What? Why is this person scolding me? Everyone speaks this way." But that happened because they took on a bad habit thinking there was nothing wrong with it. You probably didn't even know what you were doing when you took on that bad habit, but you just adopted it because you heard people do it so many times as though there was nothing wrong with it. But it's important to know that it's possible for a lot of people to start doing bad things. It's possible for them to do those bad things with no shame whatsoever and that can cause people to think that there is nothing wrong with those bad things. But that's just the act of mistakenly equating someone's wicked comfort with doing bad things to the notion that those things are now okay if someone feels comfortable doing them. That's an incorrect way to determine whether something is right or wrong. It would actually speak well of your character for resist the pressure to do as you see what other people do.

I am painfully late and just got this for my birthday, but KZbin doesn't do this game justice XD. the graphics on highest setting with 144fps is an experience like no other, even looking at 1080P makes me sad

How did you got launch so early? Do we need all 3 wisps so we can proceed? The path has been blocked by a large rock.

So the way that works is using a trick called Feeding Grounds Skip. By making sure to either land pretty far into Feeding Grounds OR by not landing at all, it's possible to skip the cutscene that starts the stealth section. If you do this, Shriek never calls down the large rock, and you can go to Willow Tree early I do this at 33:10 in the video If you have any more questions let me know!

Hey i can’t get the route document because I’m not allowed to have discord and I have a Xbox one and I’m not quite sure how to record speed runs on there. Like do I need a timer and if so how in the world do I get it?

@@TINYTINEY Bit late, curious if you ever figured any of this out and did any runs. But I believe in order to submit a valid run to the leaderboards, you'd have to use a capture card, route it into a PC, and run your video recording and speedrun timer programs on there. At that point it's probably worth just getting your hands on a PC copy of the game, especially since I believe there are less annoying glitches than on console. Either that, or just speedrun the game for yourself and see how low you can get the time on your file.

Skarfelt are you going to do the 100% on hard mode as well? I was wondering what the differences are between the normal and hard mode and if you expect certain sections to be dealt differently in hard mode.

@@AlejandroLamKhoa I'm not sure, I'm not super interested right now. Main reason is that stuff costing more on Hard mode means you have to grind for Spirit Light to be able to afford all of Opher's weapons for it to count for 100%, and that's just not super interesting. It would be cool to fight the bosses in a different way, though. There is a category called OWLS (i forget what the O means, but basically it's just getting all the Wisps without spending Lights or getting Shards), and that's played on Hard mode. I'm somewhat interested in that, but I'm still gonna play 100% Normal for a while to see how good I can get my time

How do you do that long jump trick with the flame torch at the beginning?

If you just spam Up Slash with the torch, Ori will basically hover and not lose height

For the aerial version, you have to press Sentry, then press Up Slash 3 frames later. It's frame perfect so quite hard, so I typically don't go for it unless it's necessary

@@cold_stone22 Yeah, that's called Godmode. Basically you drown, and then as you're in the drowning animation, use Bash. You'll be invincible until you either Bash again or Quit to Menu. @@TeslaSkarfelt Proud of myself for figuring out how godmode works just from watching this run. When you were in mouldwood and accidentally lost it, I noticed a minute later, then remembered you commenting on it ("I think we're still fine") before the shrine, so I tried to guess what canceled it and realized it must have been accidentally bashing. I figure when you bash during an extended death, a flag is set that you're mid-bash, and that's what makes you invincible until you bash again and the flag is reset. I had also already guessed that qtm reset it earlier because warping didn't, that means it's not fast to do the whole run with it on because you have to watch most of the cutscenes. Neat stuff.

you might already know this, but you can break some barriers from the opposite side. I found this out in my first time playing, I thought the game was bugged and that was how you were supposed to do it xD. (Use spirit smash/hammer btw)

Ah yeah, we had a vote and decided it was considered out of bounds, so it's banned in this category. 100% Easy is played without that rule, though, so those runs will break barriers from the other side like in Wellspring (they normally use the Shuriken as it's the fastest way to do it)

Ori uses a loadless timer, which means that it takes out all time spend loading. This includes time quitting to the main menu, so sometimes it's quicker to do that rather than watching a cutscene

There's a glitch called Godmode which makes you invincible. Basically, as you drown, Bash off an enemy. Until you Bash again or Quit to Menu, you're now fully invincible. It's why I go back to the Regenerate tree just before that.

Mm you can stand in the right place and just hope for the best which is what I used to do, and there's also an old (very difficult) Sentry Jump method. I'd ask in the Discord to see if others can help more with that

it's this real cool trick! so if you stay up until 6am then randomly decide to do a hundo run anyway, it lets you jump high! hope this helps

Yup! If you press Up Slash and Sentry on the same frame, Ori rockets into the air. It's actually very easy, hence it being the main movement tech That's only grounded, though - in the air, you have to do Sentry then Up Slash exactly 3 frames later, which is a lot more difficult, so we tend to avoid that unless necessary

@@Alianger Ah yeah, this is a very powerful sequence breaking tool for sure lol. Generally the game still won't let you do stuff MASSIVELY out of order due to story triggers you need to hit, but there's a few that can be bypassed that allow you to break the game (hence Any% is 25 minutes No Out of Bounds, and 15 with clips) Hope you enjoy your playthrough though! This game is a joy to play =]
