😂 Yeah a freezer, oven, and some good bangs thats all it needs. Shes at 128 hours at the moment, valves are still in spec and the power is strong 💪🏼

Almost at 90 hours! Doing a valve check at 100. I will do a video when that time comes. Probably 2022

That’s badass, I’m assuming hearing the video it was rebuilt because of it smoking ? I am currently having the same issue on my 2004 wr450 might be time for a rebuild

It never smoked. The engine was just very noisy so I wanted to do an engine overhaul before something catastrophic happened. These engines im aware are loud even new but it was excessive. Sweet, 04 was the best year imo. I believe it had more hit then the 05. 03 sucked. The 02 and previous 426’s were beasts!

I have to hand it to you, it takes balls of steel to rip open a motor like that especially since these bikes are so expensive.

It seems like a daunting task but when you start to take it apart following the service manual its really not too hard. I did it to my yz426f as well. I also did go to MMI in Orlando to study motorcycle mechanics

After how many miles/km was the rebuild necessary?

Im guessing well over 500 hours. I was the 3rd owner. The 2nd owner never rebuilt it and he had it for many years. Not sure what the first owner did, it didnt have an hour meter and the odometer wasnt accurate so its unknown. The engine didnt sound too healthy though, heres a video of it running before the build.
