Why not align the edges of the wrap with the open edge of the holster, leaving a bit of overhang, and then trim it off like the rest when you go around with the razor? Then you wouldn't have a seam at all. Regarding the ads, I prefer the sponsor spots over the random and annoying YT ads. Interesting idea. Not something I'm likely to do to my holster, but interesting to see how it's done.

I was coming to say the same thing, but you beat me to it sir.

Agreed on all points. That said, you could design a bunch of holsters to match the fabric of your pants so that they blended in to that fabric as a form of social-camouflage.
@SneakySolidSnake3 жыл бұрын
it is as you said. i would keep the few inches of overhang and glue them on the inside just past the screw holes. then when the glue starts to fail at the edges, the screws hold it from slowly unwinding completely.
@littlejackalo53263 жыл бұрын
I was going nuts watching him center the fabric on the side of the holster, instead of lining the edge of the fabric up to wrap around the holster. They made the holster with a single piece of Kydex, so why not do the same with the wrap. Ugggggh.

Part of the benefit of wrapping a holster in this type of material is it cuts down on reflectivity since kydex can be kinda shiny. And noise reduction from a branch or something similar, instead of plastic is on cloth. I think both are minimal, but every bit counts sometimes. I prefer ads from content creators as opposed to the ones from KZbin.
@bobmueller81923 жыл бұрын
The closet pole trick is genius! And warming the glue first is definitely important. If the 77 glue is cold it won’t set and sprays out very clumpy/ bubbly. As far as the advertising on your channel, the more you can control the content the better!

great diy project. quick question, why even have a seam in the back? I think you can just wrap from end to end just like the sheet of kydex was folded and cut. not sure if i'm explaining that correctly :). glad you are feeling better.
@MK-100x3 жыл бұрын
Was thinking the same thing. Since a kydex holster is basically a taco for your pistol, after the hardware is removed, you could just form another taco with the fabric and put the holster inside of it; and then cut the edges after the fabric has been fitted.

I don't OWN a gun (UK) and never will but I just love watching this guy. He seems to have ALL the toys and ALL the hobbies. I laughed when I read your comment Chris. I agree with so much of what you say. I also live in the UK, in the suburbs (like so many of us) and I prioritise space in my home over STUFF. But I still love watching others using the stuff I used to drool over owning. I have so much stuff, I can’t get enough space in my tiny workshop / storage spaces to use it properly 😂🤣. So I will go on giving my stuff away to friends until I can do what I really prioritise. Whatever that ends up being. Tough choices!

@@mrbluesky9891 it’s a very polarised society. Some do. Some are living in inescapable grinding poverty. Many are in suburbs like me. But I don’t suppose we watch the KZbin channels from cramped suburbia as much as the ones from those with spacious workshops or acres of land! Because it is such a breath of fresh air.
