Real life events have such a huge impact on how I'm reading books. Books that might hit differently at other times is a real thing. I hope things will get better in January and 2023 will bring a proper stable job you want again.

"The baggage that you bring to books matters" so true. I had a rollercoaster, I changed jobs twice (sorry to hear about what happened with your job), I had a lot of anxiety related to work and life in general... So I couldn't get to books a lot. And I couldn't read long or difficult books the second half of the year. I felt that if I approached books that I wanted to read but knew they needed my full attention, my being all anxious and stuff would ruin the experience. So I read a lot of comics and silly stuff.

Hey there! There are two book clubs. The Small Book Club is free on KZbin. The Readrum Book Club is patron exclusive, we're reading Stephen King books exclusively and it's available to all patrons. So any tier of Patreon gets you into those livestreams. :)
