I had my 2014 Nissan morano cross cabriolet wrapped in this film and it is absolutely beautiful!! Of course the car being older it had a few rock chips, but I wanted to protect it from getting any worse as I do a lot of traveling and I had just bought this car new to me.

That's what we want to get done when ours gets delivered. Day one, straight from delivery to step one: get wheels powder coated. Step two: ppf satin or matte.

What's the approximate cost for this specific wrap?
@roberts.wilson1848 Жыл бұрын
These things should be a factory option. When you order a new car your specific car's body parts should be sunk into some specific polymer that acts like these films. The advantage of being made from the manufacturing line is that it's perfect and not an external application that doesn't wrap around the edges.

can ppf be done after owning the car for 2 years (I asked because it already has some chips mostly on the front)? is there an extra procedure because of that?

Could you install ppf yes, but the chips an scratches will show in the ppf if it wasnt fixed prior

I have noticed on my model Y that the black trim, where the Chrome used to be, scratches very easy. Does the PPF cover this up as well?

To Stealth these cars do they have to come apart? Door handles, bumpers, camera covers etc?
@detailtech2 жыл бұрын
Everything stays together! Xpel makes Plots for the entire vehicle that way nothing has to be removed or cut! Some times removing makes for a better install on some vehicles but definitely discuss prior to the customer and getting started as what are the expectations.

Looks amazing! What kind of quick detailing spray and waterless wash do you recommend for Satin/Stealth wraps? Most seem to be for super shiny ceramic or for dull matte, but satin is in the middle.
@detailtech2 жыл бұрын
As long as the product is worked in and level correctly, the type of product won't have much much of an impact on the satin properties. We use XPEL products (Boost, rinseless wash).

All removal and servicing of PPF should be done by a professional. The product is made to adhere for 10 years + and a job like this costs between $6-8,000. Removal i typically not on the mind of the consumer until the warranty is spent.

This is not the same as a car wrap, right?
@detailtech2 жыл бұрын
No, Paint Protection Film is much different than Vinyl Car Wrap. Vinyl offers no actual protection to the paint only aesthetic changes. PPF offers full protection for the paint underneath the film, It also prevents things like fading of the paint. PPF also has a self healing ability when it comes to scratches. When the film is exposed to sunlight and small scratches will self heal and disappear.

@dhaynes3252 жыл бұрын
I just got the high impact areas done and got a ceramic coating for the rest of the car
@turkey13372 жыл бұрын
I've had this same question too when deciding to get PPF on my 2022 Model X. Basically if you repaint the car, you have to wait for a certain point in time to repaint it where it accumulates all the paint chips and stuff. By then, it'll look battle worn. With the PPF, especially since it's self healing, it'll be able to protect the paint for 10 years (12 years for Llumar Valor) and heal itself to protect again another day. You can repaint the entire car once, or have moderate protection for a decade. And you don't have to do the whole car. Car usually drives forward so you could just cover the nose of it ($2-3k). Maybe the doors too if it's your daily commuter car.
