With a compressor, you're better off getting one with a tank. The pump will keep the tank pressure above where you're using it, while the regulator gives you what you want. Using a compressor without a tank means that the pump has to run constantly while you're spraying and may not provide a constant pressure value (really old diaphragm pumps would also cause a 'pulsing' effect in the air flow). To use (very) simplified (and not necessarily accurate) numbers just for explanation: imagine setting the pump to shut off when the tank is at 40 psi and kick back on when it drops to 30 psi; if you are spraying at 20 psi then, even though the pump will occasionally be going on and off, you will have a constant, even supply of the 20 psi that you want. Also: Synthetic brushes are a great option for using metallic paints, washes and speed/contrast paints.

Harder and Steenbeck of Germany make fantastic airbrushes, including the Cult of Paint version of the Infinity you have. Spraygunner in Florida is an importer for the US. Badger makes good workhorse airbrushes in the US. From them I'd recommend the Badger Patriot 105 for a good beginner airbrush. Sable hair brushes are hard to beat, but when using metallic paints go for synthetic brushes. Synthetic brushes don't last long, so it is good that they are cheap.

Over here in the UK Citadel and Army Painter are available in almost all hobby shops. And living not far from Warhammer World in Nottingham is a big bonus for me.

Have you tried VMS varnishes? They were recommended by content creator Night Shift and once I started using them I have found them to be the best I have used. Airbrush ready with no prep too.
