Guys, so far I have 10 hours in this game, but I've been playing this WRC games for over a year now. This game is definitely one step further from the lack of content from the series. We have new cars, rallies, challenges and even more stages than ever. The career mode stills the same, but one great addition is the tyre selection at the begging of the rallies, some new team based events and some cool anniversary challenges. For a game, it's very cool to see the involvement of the rally history. And for me, and my passion this is the main purpose of a rally game. I love this racing category because of Dirt 2 from 2009. Talking about physics. For me, it's better than Dirt Rally 2. Don't judge the game physics based on a crash in the chase cam of the reviews. For sure, these crashes are very very ugly. But the main thing is the actual car reacting in the road. For sure I don't think we have the power of computation to make this rally games don't feel like a spaceship with accelerometer. It's very hard to simulate gravel and even harder in this 23km snow stages. For me the game keeps it's consistency. When you are on the tarmac it's not far from the other racing good simulation racing games, I do think the car feels very very close to project cars 2 in the rally of Catalunya. It's very enjoyable. I do seek for simulation, but I don't think we'll reach this level at least in five years, I hope I'm wrong. That's it for me, just a reminder that I've been playing the WRC cars, I do think the historical cars are very very arcade, and if you seek this stay in DR2. But if you like the overall WRC thing, how the stages work and the inbetwins, give it a try. viperconcept you did and amazing job as always and hope you keep this fair and reasonable reviews!

My problem with WRC games (8 and 9) is that they feel like tarmac cars on gravel. The only area I prefer WRC over Dirt Rally is the stage design. Otherwise it plays like a sped up video game. Let's not talk about the sound design!

Dirt Rally Is ok until you get to tarmac. There it seems like no One at codemasters has ever driven a car. So bad compared to Assetto Corsa or even Wreckfest (that has better phisics than Dirt Rally in my opinion) that makes me avoid tarmac events. I wanted a new rally game that Is not Dirt Rally 2.0 and I think I'll go for WRC 10!

What we need in a rally game is the randomised stage like in Dirt 4. Of course it shouldn't replace the normal stages but to have a game mode where you can play a literally new stage everytime seems very interesting to me and can see a very competitive scene come of it with just pure driving skill.

Guys, the force feedback is THE best in any game I have ever played. Just for this reason you are going to enjoy this game a lot. The second thing that I love about this game is that the grip is spectacular. Dirt 2 feels like complete trash after playing this game. Just for these 2 things alone, I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes sim racing games.

Hi, I looked in regulations in WRC and I found this in terms of adjusting tyre pressures: The adjustment of tyre pressure is permitted: - When the start of a stage is delayed by more than 10 minutes for any competitor. - In regroups when not followed by a road section before a special stage, super special stage or “Power Stage”. This means in WRC you are not allowed to adjust tyre pressure only in these exceptions mentioned above. In my opinion, this is the main reason why this option is not allowed in settings.

Hey Viper thanks for another great video. One of the biggest issues in WRC 9 is that the clutch is not needed to shift gears, in any of the cars, even if you set everything to "manual". This breaks the immersion a lot for me. I like it when you can have mis-shifts in DR 2.0 because you didn't get the clutch right. Has this been fixed in WRC 10?

Hey Tiago, I really enjoy the WRC series but old cars are way more enjoyable in DR2. One thing to mention is actually WRC cars only uses the clutch in the begging of the stage, in the launch mode(like f1cars). Overall, for me, the gravel and tarmac physics of this game are better than DR2. But the simulation of the crash and things like that are very unrealistic, but this doesn't mean you will not enjoy the game. You're supposed to drive fast not crash spectacularly.

@@FelipeVergili yes true. Indeed the clutch is implemented and it works for launch control in WRC 8/9, but they made it irrelevant for gear changes for classics. Difficult to understand that one!!

Anyone know if it has native support for triple monitors? (multi-rendering, not fish eyed). If it does, it'll be an auto buy for me. If not, more debatable. As currently there are no real rally simulators with proper triple implementation Edit: Sadly, it does not. You can stretch it over triples like most games. But WRC 10 does not render multiple viewports, leading to a distorted image on the peripheral.

This game is a very good arcade rally game. For any rally fan that just want to have some fun, with an authentic feel, this game is perfect. The stage design is unparalleled. The only bad aspect is the sound; with some exceptions, they are very generic.

It's more of the same, nothing less nothing more. KT/Nacon isn't gonna invest money on improving it when it's their last game before EA Codemasters takes it. It has new stages. That alone is enough to warrant a purchase when it's cheap if you like what they do, the stages KT makes are fantastic.

WRC 9 was when they surpassed Dirt Rally for me, which is an impressive feat considering Codemasters has been around for more than 10 years making rally games while Kylotonn only started in 2015 from nothing. But... I do agree that they should take a few more risks. However, there's one thing that makes me go back to Dirt Rally every now and then. WRC has struggled with claw grip this for a while now. When you drift your car close to 90 degrees of angle, the wheels just spin and the car doesn't go anywhere and I'm pretty sure Dirt Rally is closer to reality in that aspect, even if the claw grip is too strong at times. It almost feels like the surface turns to ice on WRC. But, when you're not pulling crazy drifts, and as you said, the tire model in this game is really good. The way the cars dance around the track is fluid and organic and I feel like it captures how these cars drive in real life really well.

yes that was pretty bad, even on a powerful pc. The fps show as 60fps but everything looked jittery. I only managed to get it smooth after fiddling with the setting "max FPS" or something in the Nvidia control panel settings for the game.

Hey Viper , great video I’m really enjoying this game. I notice that you have the T-GTll. I’ve had the same wheel for about three weeks now and I’ve noticed a bit of play from side to side on the wheel rim it’s not a lot but it’s there, I’ve checked the screws on both the 599 rim and also the 4 screws on the base behind the rim but they’re all tight. I wondered if you’d noticed anything similar ? Also I feel that the fan on the base is on a lot and noisier than I would have expected considering that I don’t use really strong FFB.

I think a lot of the issue in regards to evolution is more or less because the license is going to EA in a couple of years. I think to make WRC work to full extent with additional physics and features, KT would probably have to seriously upgrade or rebuild their proprietary engine. They're not going to do that. WRC 11 will likely be their last. I wouldn't expect anything but a bit more content and polish in that version.

I just bought this game for PS5 and it was the first rally game I had played since Colin McRae back in 2007. Mostly, I was impressed by the pebbles, dust and other small environmental objects that you can feel and hear in your controller.

Hi there really enjoyed your review i see that you have the tgt wheel the sam as i have can you tell me what settings you have yr wheel on the force feedback would be very interesting to compare yours with mine ?? I just wanted to say i recently changed the steering wheel from the small tgt original wheel to the larger thrustmaster sparco rally wheel and i can tell you its a game changer !! i found it was much more realistic and smashed my stage times i was completely blown away by the wheel so if you love rally games you shud buy the sparco rally wheel. Also i have my wheel and pedals bolted to a GT Omega sim rig the next thing i did was purchase a 65 " LG NANOCELL TV with the 2.1 hdmi sockets this tv also has several functions built in specially for the ps5 i have this tv mounted on a specialised large tv stand from a company called trak racer it allows you to get your wheel quite close to the screen as the front legs are very wide apart this also gives you more realism especially when your in cockpit view in the game once i had done this i thought i might as well go the whole hog and invest in thrustmasters load cell pedals as they say the biggest improvement you can make is by using load cell pedals so i set these up on my rig and the difference is like night and day and again i smashed my stage times put it this way ive gone from being in the top 300 / 400 to actually achieving 3rd 2nd and even 1st place on the leaderboard online i cannot tell you the massive difference this has made its just incredible but as i say its the combination of changing my wheel to the sparco wheel , changing my 3TPA pedals to the load cell pedals and using a large screen tv mounted on the Trakracer moniter/tv stand if you wish to email me your settings my email is tb6539 @googlemail.com look forward to hearing from you cheers Terry

Absolutely the best rally sim out there, I simply don't care for beautiful graphics and whatnot, the on par graphics are good enough for me but WRC has a huge issue and that is optimization, KT needs to sort that out because this game runs horribly and sure I don't have a beastly computer but my 1660ti with a 9th gen core i7 should theoretically run the game at a smooth fps at 1080p but unfortunately that's not the case as there can be stutters and I have had to turn down other graphic details to make it run well. On the other hand, its competitor (Dirt Rally 2.0) is also on my computer which runs absolutely buttery smooth at medium to high settings and I just wish KT could achieve that.

My problem with this game is that I can`t find good wheel settings for me. It is because you feel big differences between tramac and gravel, In Dirt Rally 2.0 I found the best settings ffb for me, and it`s good on tarmac and graver. But this game, I can`t figure it out this settings. Same situation is with wheel angle. In some locations good choice is 540 and in the other 460 for expample.

My Dream: WRC with VR, that's it. It's so much easier to feel what the car is doing in WRC. I can feel where the point of no return is when losing control in WRC. DR2 I just can't get a feel on the car when on the limit. It's even worse with FWD cars. I don't know what's up with FWD cars and the handbrake. Touch the handbrake just a little bit and car wildly swings around like it didn't have any weight at all.

What about jerky PC animation? Despite changing all possible graphics settings, I am not able to get smooth aninimation even though FPS count shows 150fps. The problem was exactly the same with the previous part of the game. As a result, this game is almost unplayable for me and many other players, I do not understand how such an oversight could have been allowed in the next installment of this brand. I feel very disappointed about this.

I had that as well. Try setting the maximum framerate on nvidia geforce setting for the game at 60fps or so. fixed it for me in wrc9. unbelievable they still ship a game with this issue!

The issue with WRC 9 was the lighting. The game tedns to be very dark even when I adjust all the TV settings, and yet a lot stages were extremely dark and lacked detail.;

I fixed the problem with reshade or amd's color/calibration brightness-contrast. Crazy that it is needed, why would they put a tinted windshield ? even with the fix sometimes in bad conditions I have to go to the hood view. Add that to the aliasing that appears in interior views, the horrible camera /seat/fov adjustments. I hope all of this is fixed, but I'm 99% sure it ain't. It probably still has the bug (feature ?) where suspensions get damaged on certain events/tracks at a specific spot, even if you're going 1km/h, even if you restart

Viper, what's your opinion on classic cars. In my opinion the worst aspect of WRC8-9 is that the game feels completely made around R5 and WRC cars (which I understand, somewhat) which feel absolutely fantastic to drive, but classic cars feel just bad. I don't mean they're slow or fast, they feel like no attention has been paid to them, like a great Assetto Corsa car mod vs a bad one. I think you get what I mean. Has it improved with all that 50 year anniversary talk? I figure not but I still ask.

For me they are the same as the WRC 9. The fun comes with the crowd extremely close to the road and some stages are historic. The sound is better than any other versions and the graphics too for sure. But the career mode still the same and very little tuning into physics. For me the in the track(not out of it) the game feels more realistic than DR2. But for sure RBR is the God tier in this list

I couldn't quite put my finger on it on what is wrong with this games physics... Basically at tarmac or gravel or any other surface, there's a lack of interaction between tires ability to turn the car and giving propper response of weight transfer and loads because of this. Playing something like RBR the cars feel like a whip, with a momentum that doesn't quite exist in WRC or DR titlrs because of this simplification, because the cars in this last two are mostly controlled from the rotation around their centers of gravity and then tires somewhat respond to that, not the opposite... When this is fixed then this games will start to have at least very enjoyable physics, even if not the only issue. That first interaction of the tires on the handling and upwards is the key. Right now is really backwards... It reminds me of the way GTA cars could be made into planes and rotated around... This is the same. If someone could find a cheat to use on this games like this the same thing would be possible, I bet it!!

@@markrigg6623 I mean a whip in the sense that the car takes some time to respond to inputs and really gains speed as it yaws and the back oversteers... In WRC10 there is a bit of that, but it's not as nuanced and as raw, because grip loss dynamics are a bit dumbed down. It has been made more accessible to me. For me RBR with NGP is still a level above WRC games. Their good enough though, just not quite and uncompromising simulation.

I think this review and his last two WRC reviews lack of two things. 1. He needs to acknowledge that you can't change tyre pressure, even in real WRC. 2. Where's the pacenote editor? The co-driver already sounds kinda robotic or unnatural, so there must be a pacenote editor that the devs used.

I loved Dirt Rally and cannot find my way to like Dirt 2.0, I use only a controller because I do not have space for a wheel, have to say that WRC 8 was a nice surprise and great experience on the game pad - I think they botched the difficulty spike in Dirt 2.0 - you cannot beat Dirt rally on hardest difficulty with infinite restarts and struggle to put decent times in Dirt 2.0 on lowest difficulty - also cars feel like driving on ice on every surface (even the damned tarmac) - I'll wait for WRC 9 or WRC10 sales after buying 8th

About body deformation - this element is limited because of car producents, they not agree to put serious body damage, espiecally in area where driver and pilot are sitting.... What about historical cars? There are many of them or not? I once played WRC 8(?) and there wasn't too many of them and don't like driving them too much, was almost impossible to spin with A110, car feels glued to surface...

Over 24 hours of gameplay and can easily say it's one of my favorite racing games let alone rally games. I'm a fan of most rally and racing games will say this game would good game just to have a good time a lose yourself in a solid race title that takes time to learn its physics but rewarding when learned. Take comparisons and hateful reviews aside and enjoy! Haha

no rain drops in rainy days. in wrc 9 and 8 rain was lot better! Watersplash on the camera when you drive through Water! this was great and in wrc 10 its gone. Sad

I've been sim rallying and racing for over two decades now and have a rather extensive knowledge of rally cars and driving on multiple surfaces. How many hours did you play the game before making your review? Did you drive one stage of each location with all the cars before you started? If not, which locations and cars did you try out? I have put in just over 10 hours of driving so far and I'm not happy at all with this game when it comes to a lot of factors involved with the physics and also in general. I'll be blunt and say that your assessment of this game when it comes to driving is overgeneralised, incomplete and quite inaccurate. I'm sorry but that's the truth. Nice try though and good luck in the future. I'll be releasing my first impressions video in a few days as I need to do some more research ingame and take notes.

So, you're assuming if my opinion Is different than yours, it means i'm totally wrong and you're totally right? Lol... Ok...... Also, try to cover EVERYTHING on a racing game like this one in less than 15 minutes. People don't Watch Long videos or skip because at certain point they lose interest, especially on reviews. If I did an in-depth review of all physics graphics and content, this video woulb be al least 30 minutes Long. People don't want this. At least most of them. I played a total of 15 hours with this game between demo, PS4 version and PC final version. I tested all historic Cars and some of the modern Ones on dirt, snow, and tarmac. I talked directly with developers as well about physics and car sound. Good look with your review. But don't try again to criticize my job saying It's incomplete or wrong Just because It doesn't agree with your opinion. Physics of this game gave me a good impression. Simple.

@@viperconcept I’m sorry but you should really try out Richard burns rally with the rally sim fans mod. Look it up, that is how an actual car handles. Wrc 10 does not feel like that at all unfortunately

Did you actually compare physics to 8/9 as 10 has new feel maybe you forgot? You mostly play dr2 also I recommend you play dirt4 random track generator more like real rally as stage always diferent like in real life no practice hopefully wrc11 has this

I find wrc9 way too sketchy with traction even at super slow speeds. I find it very hard to think that a purpose built 4wd machine would behave that way ( my old 2wd hatchbatch handles gravel tons better !)….making it a tad frustrating …where as dr2 is great fun. I do agree that the stages are great in wrc though…I think I will wait until wrc10 is on mega special or free on playstore tbh
