WRC 1996: Round 3 Indonesia (Highlights)

Third round of 1996 World Rally Championship. This was Indonesia's first appearance (out of two) in WRC category. Colin McRae and Tommi Mäkinen sped off in to the distance at first day and wouldn't be caught by driving, but on second day of competition Tommi retired when his intercooler broke which left McRae to a lead of 4 minutes to the next car (Sainz). It looked to be straight forward victory for the scotsman, but in typical McRae fashion he ended up crashing out on final day.
After McRae was out the rally, it was now between Kankkunen, Sainz and Liatti who was charging from a deficit. Kankkunen however had his fair share of technical issues dropped to 3rd also where he would end the rally. Sainz eventually kept charging Liatti behind to win his first rally of the season. Sainz was also disqualified from the event, but the decision was overturned after Ford's protest and Sainz was charged 20 000 dollars for breaking a service rule.
