I still can't Understand How people say F1 drivers are the best... I'm like have you ever seen WRC or DAKAR?

David Valencia F1 and rallying are like chalk and cheese. There is absolutely no point in comparing the drivers. However, there are some similarities. Both of the sports require drivers with huge balls and great reflexes. F1 is more about persisting with the pressure from your rivals while rallying is about racing against oneself. F1 is about taking a premeditated racing line while Rallying is about improvisation. I'm a fan of both classes of racing and let's just say that F1 drivers are better at actual racing, like wheel to wheel racing and Rallyers are at home driving in any conditions.

@@pranavps851 Good points. But F1 drivers usually suffer from crippling overspecialization which hurts them in series with less downforce. You see the current breed doing well in prototypes (though they're almost never alone there) but when it comes to e.g. touring cars very few remain competitive. Rally drivers on the other hand need to develop a more general array of skills and that has been shown to translate well into circuit racing. There's always a select few drivers than can do anything like Walter Roehrl, Robert Kubica and Seb Loeb but those are the exception, not the rule.

M2orNot Adapting to a car having lesser downforce won't be an issue, I think, because they didn't begin their careers at F1. They have spent most of their careers doing open wheel racing. I agree, F1 drivers are somewhat unidimensional , especially the current crop. Take for instance, Max Verstappen. He doesn't know what a heel - toe is !! And this is a guy touted to be the future of the sport. Contrast him with Alonso. He is a big mouth but he really has the drive to excel in all forms of racing. He hasn't done any rallying but he is a two time 24 h of Le Mans winner, so that ticks the box of a low down force series. In conclusion, there are mediocre as well as brilliant drivers in any series. In the end, the best driver can always make the switch between different classes of racing and be versatile. It doesn't matter what his primary field is

@@M2orNot There are plenty of examples of F1 drivers who are just great drivers in general. Carlos Sainz grew up rallying because of his father. Drivers like Fernando Alonso, Juan Pablo Montoya, any Finnish F1 driver and like you said Robert Kubica. F1 cars are really unique and are in a league of their own but their drivability is still based upon driving fundamentals. The stigma that seems to be getting spread around that F1 drivers are one trick ponies is incredibly delusional and disrespectful.

Killin it the adrenaline must be off the hook! They gotta be exhausted and guys... You dont compare WRC to F1 they each have their respective challenges and an F1 driver may not be able to drive one of these monsters but these guys equally may not be very good at driving F1 cars..(i mean that of course in that they could probably drive F1 cars better than average people but not as good as a pro F1 driver and same goes for the f1 guys they could drive these cars better than most people...) I dont understand why they all cant be fantastic drivers like from GT2 GT3 and drifters to F1 and WRC like they all offer something why not just enjoy them or forget the ones ya dont like as much but i think anyone who can drive with skill should All that being said tho this is the most fun to watch and i also prefer it over F1
