Fun fact/story: During the making of the movie, Nintendo was not happy with the way Bowser was holding his tea in the bad guys therapy-meeting. Nintendo gave precise instructions on how Bowser would hold his tea and they made the changes. Big N doesn't joke around with their characters represented elsewhere.

It's never addressed, but a DARK implication of this movie is a connection between Calhoun's backstory of her Groom being eaten by a Cy-Bug and Turbo's mutation. If you watch her face as Calhoun is shooting it, it seems like a BIT too much of a facial reaction. Even for watching someone you love being eaten. But this means that the Cy-Bug was also turning INTO parts of her Groom.

One thing I always feel like I should point out is: With the knowledge of the cybugs becoming what they eat (which is applicable to people too, as shown at the end with Turbo), think back again to Calhoun's tragic backstory. Her groom was eaten by a cybug that she afterwards had to shoot to death, essentially killing her love. So dark for a kid's movie!

Tapper actually was a game. You served soda to customers who arrived at one of 4 different tables and you has to serve them in order which increased in speed as the game went on. Also, you don't really think about it, but as the bugs become what they eat, Calhoun had to kill a bug that looked like her husband on their wedding to be.

Not only is it gross for Sour Bill to be put into Ralph's mouth but being a piece of hard candy, he'd slowly disolving because of Ralph's saliva and staying there long enough and he'd be disolving completely. Sure, he'd generate as he's in his game but imagine how tortureous it would be in that position. On a side note, Sour Bill is voiced by director Rich Moore, who also voiced Zangief (the reason he's a labeled a bad guy, though he technically is not a bad guy in Street Fighter II, was because Moore had such difficult time beating him as a kid, thinking he was kind of a bad guy).

Interesting to note: Director Rich Moore stated Wreck-It Ralph felt this project was more challenging for him compared to his work on animated sitcom The Simpsons. "Wreck-It Ralph": "I'm bad and that's good. I will never be good and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me." Video games and arcades happened after I had "aged out." It was the story that got my attention, in particular, the Hero's Journey of Ralph, Vanellope and Felix. Btw if you like "the bad guys turning into heros" type of movies, try "Megamind" first and then "The Bad Guys" too🙂 "Megamind" is about a blue alien super genious, getting annoyed with being the cities villian after destroying his nemosis, the superhero of the city, and getting bored of getting everything he wanted, and he finds love and tries to go out with a girl in disguise, while trying to keep his villain roll by making another hero, but it goes wrong..... Now Megamind has to stop all this madness he made... AND "The Bad Guys" is about the main bad guys in the childhood nursery ryhmes, The Big Bad Wolf, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Pirahna and Shark always getting bullied for their ways in the nursery rhymes and they decided being bad guys felt good and was fun and started being criminals over the years... But the main character Wolf starts realizing after they finally got caught and escaped that maybe he was abit wrong about being bad and doesn't want to go back to jail, and tries going good and tries pushing his gang to be good too

When I saw the movie the first time and M. Bison said "You're not going Turbo, are you?", I seriously think he was talking about making a Turbo version of his own game as Street Fighter II had a Turbo version where you could play as the boss characters (Balrgo, Vega, Sagar and M.Bison) which you couldn't in the original. As a kid I grew up reading video game magazines so I was aware of Street Fighter II Turbo. It wasn't until the second reference to Go Turbo and the explaination of it that I realized that Go Tubro meant game jumping.

Root Beer Tapper (or just Tapper) was a real arcade game in the 80's by Midway, in which you served rootbeer (or beer in the Tapper version) to customers approaching the end of the bar and if you didn't serve them until then they'd slide you over the bar and out through the door which result you lose a life (or if you didn't catch the glass they slide back at them, causing them to break when they hit the floor). The original version of Tapper was sponosred by Budweiser and were in bars. In order to make the game accessible for kids, a more family friendly version was made, which was basically the same game except the bartender was dressed as a soda jerk and served rootbeer instead of actual beer (and obviously the Budweiser branding was taken out), so the arcade game could be put in arcades in malls and other place where kids usually hanged. The movie have a mix of boh versions with the Tapper name and the baretender having the bartender outfit but he serves rootbeer to make it more apporpiate for a family film (despite references of alcohol in past Disney movies were plenty).

One of the best headcanons for this movie is that Sugar Rush becomes an urban legend. In most games of Sugar Rush, the main character is Princess Vanellope. But in this one arcade, you can race as King Candy, a character that doesn't seem to exist anywhere else, and there's no Princess Vanellope. Game enthusists travel to see the King Candy game (which would explain why a game like Wreck-It Ralph is still in use and not either thrown out or moved to some game museum/private collector by now). Then all of a sudden one day, King Candy vanishes and Princess Vanellope appears, but she isn't like the Princess Vanellopes in other games. She has a different outfit and she has this random teleporting power that she doesn't have anywhere else. And THEN people realize that this arcade ALSO has a game of Fix-It Felix with a bonus level including Q*Bert that you can't access literally on any other machine, and the gaming world loses its mind.

When i was a kid i thought that homeless people lived in the dump so i would throw away some food for them. This movie made me think that even more, i even threw away a ziploc bag with papers and pencils so they could draw. I mean good intentions but i wasted food...

Wondering in where Turbo was hiding before he took over Sugar Rush. The Nice Landers did not live up to their names. When the arcade is closed they are all off the clock. With Vanellope's first car there was no way it will get past any obstacles so there was no reason to destroy it. She would have been out of the race it's was to slow.

Its canon that the ruler of each individual game has access to its code. Venelope kept her glitch powers willingly as she liked them and found they made her who she was

We get to have Sonic, Eggman, and Bowser in this but we couldn't get Mario? Nintendo you could've gotten even more money from Disney if you learned how to share with your characters. Be more like Sega, at least they share their characters

It's the villains' job in their games to play the part of the bad guys, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they're really bad guys. They're like actors playing parts in movies.
